Story
Meet  Mopup— knows "Laney” from the adorable Cleaning Crew litter! She is now 6 years old.  True to her original name, this sweet girl is excellent at mopping up love, attention, and every cozy spot on the couch. Laney is a smart, loyal, and affectionate companion who absolutely thrives when she’s with her people. She loves spending time with humans, whether that means relaxing at home, showing off her impressive command skills, or keeping watch over the yard like the devoted little protector she believes she is. She already knows commands like sit, stay, place, and more — it’s clear she had wonderful training early on and enjoys having structure and guidance. Laney’s journey has had a few bumps along the way. She was previously adopted by someone who sadly had to surrender her due to health issues, and because much of her early socialization happened during COVID, she didn’t get the opportunity to build confidence around other dogs and unfamiliar visitors. While she can coexist with some dogs for periods of time, overstimulating situations or high-energy dogs can make her feel anxious and defensive. Her foster family even hoped she could stay permanently because they already have her sister from the same litter — Cleanuroom, now called Leia! Although the sisters share many of the same wonderful qualities and are both loving dogs, they simply do not enjoy sharing space long term. Laney tends to tolerate calmer male dogs better, but rambunctious or overly energetic dogs are not her style. Because of this, she would truly thrive as the only pet in the home where she can fully relax and enjoy being the center of attention. She can also be timid around unfamiliar men in her home, though once she feels safe, her sweet personality begins to emerge. Outside the home she does much better and has already made great progress warming up to trusted people — including her foster dad! Laney simply needs patient humans who understand that trust is earned, and once you earn hers, you’ll have an incredibly devoted companion. This girl is crate trained, house trained, and appreciates a predictable routine. She currently takes anxiety medication, which helps her feel more comfortable and confident. Like many sensitive pups, thunderstorms and fireworks are not her favorite, but Laney has developed her own hilarious coping strategy: she proudly patrols the fence line “barking the thunder away” as if she alone is protecting the neighborhood from the storm. Honestly, it’s pretty adorable. Laney would do best in a calmer home with adults or teenagers who can respect her space and continue building her confidence. She’s playful, goofy, incredibly intelligent, and has so much love to give. Without the stress of other animals around, her fun and affectionate personality truly blossoms. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend, a built-in thunderstorm security patrol officer, and a dog who will adore being by your side, Laney may just be your perfect match.    August 20, 2026, 10:03 pm

Meet Sheba – Your Loyal Shadow in the Making Sheba is a sweet senior girl who is simply looking for a soft place to land and a human to call her own. She is at that beautiful stage of life where she knows who she is, what she likes, and that her favorite place will always be right by your side. If you are looking for a loyal girl who will stick by you through movie nights, morning coffee, and everything in between, Sheba is ready to clock in for the job. All she needs is a hero willing to give her the safe, loving home she deserves for the rest of her days. Senior dogs have a special kind of love. It is steady, grateful, and deeply devoted. Story
Jill’s story started in a ditch alongside her brother when she was just a tiny puppy. Despite such a rough beginning, this sweet girl has held onto her gentle heart. Jill is shy and a little nervous when meeting new people. At adoption events, when things feel overwhelming, she’ll simply curl up and go to sleep — her quiet way of coping with the big world around her. Because of this tender, cautious nature, she’s now over a year old and still waiting for someone to see the beautiful soul she truly is. But give Jill just a little time, patience, and kindness, and you’ll discover her real personality. 🌟 She blossoms into a happy, playful girl who loves zoomies in the yard, a good game of fetch, and romping around with other dogs. Once she feels safe, her nubby wags freely and her playful spirit shines. Jill doesn’t need much — just a calm, loving home willing to let her warm up at her own pace. In return, you’ll get the sweetest, most loyal companion who will quietly choose you as her person. Could you be the one to give Jill the safe forever she’s been waiting for? Say hello to this sweet girl, Wanda! She is around 2 years old and was found as a stray. Wanda has been working really hard on trusting people and has been doing fantastic! She is most comfortable with a calm gentle dog friend, she would thrive in a home where she had a furry friend to lean on. Story
Sidney is very selective of her hooman and doggie friends.  She’s afraid of rain, thunderstorms and fireworks and will hide under a bed table or in the shower. She gets along well with the senior dog in our home and our Saap alum Kenzie.  She loves the cats and kittens in our home.  She’s not a good fit for small children.  She would do well in an adult home with a fenced area to run in.  She’s a champion snuggler and doesn’t comprehend personal space.   She is a very loving and loyal girl. March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm

Story
Violette's story is one of resilience, and her glow-up is nothing short of amazing! With before-and-after photos, you'll see just how far this little lady has come. Meet Violette!  At just 3 months old, Violette is proof that a little love and care can work wonders. She arrived at SAAP with her siblings, Mac and Chee, suffering from mange and in need of some TLC. Fast forward to today, and this beautiful girl is absolutely thriving! Her coat is growing in beautifully, her confidence is soaring, and she's blossomed into the happy, healthy puppy she was always meant to be. Violette has never met a stranger. Everyone she encounters is immediately her new best friend! She's a playful, goofy puppy who loves toys, adventures, and making people laugh with her signature bunny-bronco hop that sends her bouncing across the room like she's got springs on her paws. When playtime is over, Violette transforms into a champion cuddler. She loves curling up close for snuggles and is happiest when she's soaking up affection from her favorite humans. If you're looking for a puppy who can make you laugh, keep you entertained, and then melt into your lap for a nap, Violette may be your perfect match. Her journey from mange-covered pup to gorgeous little princess is inspiring, but her sweet personality is what truly shines.August 20, 2026, 10:03 pm
