Story
This is Rocco, a 5-year-old good boy who deserves more time and attention than I’m currently able to give due to a very busy schedule. This decision comes from love — he deserves daily walks, consistency, and affection. Rocco is: Potty trained and crate trained Knows his basic commands Great with kids and cats Selective with other dogs, he can like other dogs but is picky, so slow introductions are best He is affectionate, smart, and truly a big sweet baby. He bonds closely with his person and loves being part of the family. Rocco is up to date on his rabies vaccine but will need his other shots updated. I’ve had him for 3 years after taking him in from a coworker who was going to surrender him due to a move. I’m looking for a loving, stable home where he can get the time and care he deserves. This is not an easy decision, and finding the right home is very important to me. Please reach out if you think you might be a good fit or have questions.

Story
Hi there!!!! The name`s Ace! I`m a spry, happy-go-lucky 1-year-old with LOADS of energy. My dream is to be a track star and win the gold medal- I`ve got big dreams! But, realistically, I would also love being a running buddy for my future humans. After a good run, I would love to play tug of war with my favorite toys, and maybe a bit of fetch too. Then we can do a training session. And THEN we can go on a hike- okay, am I exhausting you? Sorry, I`m just SO excited to make friends and do so many fun activities with you! When I do eventually exhaust all my energy, I do love curling up in my comfy bed and getting pets from my humans. I love treats too, especially peanut butter!I have lived with kids and done well. I have not lived with cats or other dogs. I like to play in group play with my other friends here at the SPCA Cincinnati. I am housebroken and can hold my potty for 8-12 hours at the maximum. I know some basic commands such as `sit` and `stay`, but I can be a stubborn and energetic guy, so sometimes I won`t always listen! Keeping up with my basic training and refreshing my skills after my stay in a shelter are a necessity. Want to meet me and find out if our lifestyles are a perfect match? Come visit me at SPCA Cincinnati today!

Story
Meet Ava, the sweetest big mixed-breed around! This energetic girl is a true athlete who loves nothing more than running, jumping, and playing a game of fetch. When she`s not tearing across the yard, you can find her engaged in her favorite quirky hobby: chewing on and carrying around large rocks. After a long day of play, Ava transforms into a world-class snuggler and is happiest when cuddling up close. Ava is a sunshine dog through and through; she loves warm weather and avoids the cold. You`ll definitely want to bring her inside when the dark clouds roll in, as she absolutely hates getting rained on! She also loves treats of almost any kind, but as if she couldn`t get any quirkier, she does NOT like peanut butter! If you`re wondering what dog doesn`t like peanut butter, that would be Ava. She is a one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime type of dog. Ava is a fantastic family dog who is great with kids of all ages. Ava has met other dogs in playgroup here at the shelter and has done well, but can be selective about her dog friends, mostly preferring dogs who give her space and time to warm up. If you have children or dogs at home, we encourage you to bring them with you to the shelter for a meet-and-greet if you are interested in adopting. Ava has some basic training, but may need a refresher after her time in the shelter and entering a new home. She is eager to please and has a lot of energy to spend! She is also a powerful chewer, so she needs toys that are tough and can`t be easily destroyed. If this larger-than-life girl sounds like the perfect pup for your family, come visit her at SPCA Cincinnati today!

Story
Meet Claressa 💕 Claressa is a 5-year-old, 55 lb Boxer with the softest soul and the sweetest heart. Rescued from a puppy mill, she’s finally learning what it means to be loved—not for what she could produce, but for who she is. This girl is an absolute cuddle bug. Head scratches are her love language, and she’s happiest curled up beside you on the couch, soaking in all the comfort she missed out on for so long. Cozy blankets and comfy cushions are quickly becoming her favorite things. Claressa is doing amazing with her potty training. She’ll head out to the fenced yard on her own, take care of business, and come right back in when she’s done. If she needs help or wants to go out, she’ll let you know with a little whine—she’s very good at communicating her needs. Claressa loves a home where she can soak up all the attention and enjoy a calm, predictable environment. Her breeding days are behind her, and now it’s her turn to be cherished. Claressa is ready for a peaceful, loving home where she can relax, cuddle, and finally just be a dog. Claressa is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. 🐾💗 Her adoption fee is $275.00.
