She loves to play with other dogs although the older resident dog does tire out well before her. After all Billie does have a good bit of puppy energy. She ignores the cats but is pretty interested in what is in their food dishes. Billie is still working on establishing house training and is starting to get the hang of it.  Billie has been great with the 13yr old daughter in the home and loves to get as much human attention as she can. She also loves toys, especially ones that squeak.  Overall Billie is still a young girl with lots of love to give and things to learn she will be a great companion!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   or     *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Russell. He is a happy, friendly little fellow who loves everyone, kids and adults. Russell has known severe neglect, both physical and emotional. He craves attention from everyone around him, loves being petted, and having his chest and belly scratched. Because of this, he can get excited, bouncy, and a little mouthy. He is not a biter. If he senses you might be going to walk away from him he may take hold of your hand or clothes to keep you from leaving him. We’ve been working on it and he’s getting much better. He needs to be with older kids or adults. Russell doesn’t need to be around cats or small animals. He wants to chase them. He loves to play with other dogs as long as they don’t show him dominance behavior or aggression. He will react to that type of behavior. If they are friendly, he’s friendly. The starvation he’s endured has made him a little food aggressive toward other dogs. He’s getting better but it’s still advisable to feed him separately or in his crate and continue to work on it. On the surface, Russell appears to be a very active little guy. Most of that is seeking attention. If he can lay with you and be loved on, he will do that for as long as you’ll let him. He will ignore toys for human contact. Once Russell has a home of his own and consistent love and care, he will be a much calmer dog. Russell is crate trained. He needs to be taken out to the bathroom on a schedule as he doesn’t have a signal for going out yet. One plus, he still squats to urinate like a puppy and has shown no tendency to mark territory. He's looking for someone to love him after everything he's been through. Is that you? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dental, dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate),  Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age , Bordetella vaccine, 4DX  (over 6 months of age) , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a 'full grown size' of many of our younger animals.Interested in adopting me? Story
Meet Rocky! He's the absolute friendliest, most loving boxer. He is good with kids and great with other dogs. He was found stray, but is such an affectionate and polite guy. He just loves to hang out with and love on his people. Rocky is about 2 years old and weighs 65 pounds. We noticed he was walking funny, so we had his hips x-rayed. It turns out he was likely hit by a car at some point because he has a crushed pelvis. There's nothing to be done surgically for it as it's already healed weird, but it doesn't impede him or hurt him at all. He loves running around and playing with friends! He just has a sashay when he walks, and will likely develop arthritis earlier due to it. Daily joint supplements are recommended by our vet. We're lowering his adoption fee to $200 in hopes that a special someone will love this boy, despite potential future limitations. Please share to help him find his forever!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.September 21, 2023, 11:44 am

Meet Paisley Grace! She is about one year old and weighs about 36 pounds. She's great with most medium/large dogs and has a happy go lucky personality. She's good with cats and kids, too! She's well behaved in the home, and is potty trained. She's smart and eager to learn. She can sit and shake for treats and will catch them if you toss them to her. Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $500.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hi my name is Milo. I came to SHH due to my cleft palate. From the foster - Milo is an 8 month old, spunky Boxer looking for his forever family! Please read carefully as Milo has a few quirks his future family should be aware of. Milo LOVES his people! His favorite thing is to climb into your lap- and he will climb! Whether it's climbing over the back of a couch or out of a puppy pen, he'll find a way to cuddle you. His middle name is "Mountain Goat." He also loves his food and going for walks. All people and dogs are his friends, and he takes cues from other dogs very well. Unfortunately, Milo didn't have a normal start to life. He was born with a severe cleft palate, where the roof of his mouth was completely missing. Most cases of cleft palates don't need surgical repair, but Milo's was so severe, it was necessary for his quality of life. He has completed his surgery and recovery, and now he can live a "normal" life. However, the abnormal circumstances left Milo with a few behavioral challenges. Due to several weeks of strict kennel rest after two surgeries, he struggles with potty training. He's a smart dog and eager to learn, but still needs reinforcement. He also can be very reactive to restraint. This can include growling, panicking, thrashing, or even attempting to bite in order to get away. He has made huge improvements with this, and we have formed a training and management plan. But his forever family will need to be willing to continue working on these behaviors, as they will probably be lifelong challenges. A detailed management plan will be discussed with any potential adopters. Milo loves kids, but would do best with older children who can understand his quirks. While he would love to have at least one other dog in the home, he would be fine as the solo dog if his humans are around for most of the day. He has some challenges, but Milo is worth every effort! He's a very special dog with so much love to give. For future veterinary care, please note: Milo showed increased agitation and reactivity after receiving trazodone, both situationally and daily, and this medication should be avoided in the future. Milo also showed increased agitation and reactivity during the recovery period when dexmedetomidine was used in the sedation protocol; this medication should be used with caution.

These pups are in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   This is Tinkerbell! She came to us in pretty rough shape but she has worked SO hard and thrived!!! She had an injury when she arrived into rescue, and now she has healed - all that remains is a little hop to her step. She is an extremely loyal, loving, snuggly dog that does great with humans of all ages and cats but does need to live in a household where she can be the only dog. She does well with cats, as long as they respect her food - otherwise she'll chase them off! Tinkerbell can get along with other dogs but is pretty under-socialized from her previous owners, and is often misunderstood by other dogs. She is kennel, potty and leash trained. She knows how to sit, stay, shake, high five and is working on laying down. This girl is  sweet, loyal, playful, cuddly, silly (hopping like a bunny and snorting like a pig).  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the appropriate form below: redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms Redemptionroad.mn@gmail.com http://redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org All dogs age appropriate vetted: Spayed or Neutered Rabies vaccine DHPP vaccine 4DX test (@8 months or older) Microchipped Dewormed Flea/tick prevention Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 21, 2023, 11:03 am

Along with being beautiful I am also pretty smart and an all around good pup. From her foster mom: Paprika follows me in the yard, is best buddies with my German Shepherd, does well with my 2 cats and granddaughter of 5 yrs old. She is still learning sit and stay, but comes in the house when called every time. She is so proud of learning to walk on leash with her new best buddy. She sleeps in her crate, but would love to sleep in my bedroom if allowed. She just needs a little extra TLC for her MegaE so eats in a chair made just for her.
