Location: Sioux Falls, SD Moxie is a young pup, but her foster mom thinks she is going to be a big girl! She has lots of puppy energy, so a home with a fence yard would be ideal for her. She can be loud when she wants out of her crate or let back in the house, so a house with no shared walls would be best. Moxie is playful and loves to wrestle with the other pups in the house, but when she is ready to crash, she crashes hard. Moxie is good with other dogs and cats. Older kids might be best as she is still learning manners, and she likes to jump, but her foster family is working on that. She is a complete snuggle bug at night. Potty training is a work-in-progress, but she is young and will learn. She has a stunning, unique look and her foster family is very curious of what breeds she is made up of. Cheeto is a 13, going on 14 year old Boxer/ Pug mix that was adopted when he was 1 year old. He's super cuddly and loves being by your side whenever possible. He does well with other dogs, no current or past problems with dogs or with cats, he currently has a brother and sister that are of the feline species and has been around kids of all ages his whole life. He enjoys walks but with his age, this is not something that needs to happen everyday. He is up to date on all of his shots and was neutered when he was a pup. He does have a few lumps and bumps but they have all been considered benign by his Vet. It is getting harder for him to get up and down stairs but he is still attempting to race up and down them every time. His perfect home would be with someone who is home most of the day and can let him outside when he needs. With his age, he is not able to hold his bladder as well but he is house trained since he was a pup. He is the perfect option for someone looking for a companion.

Nino is a friendly, loving 1 yo boxer mix. He is fully house-trained and can use a dog door. He knows how to sit and takes treats extremely politely. He loves approaching you for attention and often sits/sleeps nearby or against you. He gets along very well with other dogs and is simply curious about cats. He has done well in a crate. He rarely makes any noise, saving it for when other companion dogs start barking. He does well in the car and on walks (no leash pulling at all). He would be a great addition to any home. My name is Gustav and I am from Arkansas! I am heartworm positive but will be starting my treatment soon after arriving, so I need a quiet, comfy spot to rest my head and a patient foster who can shower me with love and good vibes while I get better. My adoption can take place during treatment. From the Vet: Gustav is currently being treated for heartworm disease. This includes a 3 month treatment protocol including a staging exam to determine the stage of the animal's disease, a course of antibiotics +/- additional sedatives or other medications as needed, and a series of 3 injections of a medication to kill the adult worms. Gustav's injections are scheduled for the following dates - 11/18, 12/16 and 12/17. During this time it is important that this pet stays at a low stress, low activity level so as not to increase heart rate which can increase risk of complications. Once treated, this animal should get heartworm prevention medications year round for life. We recommend a repeat heartworm test 9 months after the animal's last injection.
