Please fill out a pre-adoption application so we know you are interested in meeting/adopting one of our animals.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.The breeds of our dogs and cats are a 'best guess.' We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a 'full grown size' of many of our younger animals.Interested in adopting me? Story
I am looking for a foster or forever family! Please CLICK HERE to sign up to foster! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Jet is such a sweet, happy boy and doesn't need any help coming out of his shell! He has lots of puppy energy and loves to romp around and play with squeaky toys and LOVES to chew bones. He is very food motivated and already sits for treats so I think future training will be a piece of cake. We've only had a couple accidents inside but as soon as he realized he got a treat for going potty outside, he had no trouble getting on board. He goes into his crate for a treat and when he eats meals, no problem. He doesn't love the crate and cries at first, but settles quickly. Since he's an older puppy, he's still learning cues from my dog and doesn't always listen when she tells him she's all done. So, another high energy playmate would be a better fit! (Mine is a basset and she just can't keep up haha) Jet has a high prey drive around my cats so a place with no kitties would probably be best. He is just learning how to settle and snuggle and once he realizes that's what we were doing, he becomes a gooey cuddly boy. Overall, he's a goofy lover and will be a great fit for the right home!

Story
My name is Jackson and I’m so excited to meet you! I am a Boxer/Beagle mix born 12/17/22. My foster parents call me a puppy but I’m a big kid now! I LOVE to meet new dogs and play chase or wrestle with them. Dad says I am doing pretty well on leash for walks, and have potty training and kennel training pretty much mastered. Mom says I can be stubborn, and not always listen when called the first time. I currently live with a bigger foster brother and a foster “cat” who I am convinced is just another dog to play with. New experiences can be scary, but I am normally brave if mom and dad are there reassuring me. Currently, Dad stays home most days and I would probably do best with someone home at least every few hours, at least at first. I sleep in my room all night and love to nap in the dog beds around the house. More than anything, I love to run and play with all my friends, all the time! I will chase after balls, frisbees and sticks. I’ll then try to get everyone to chase me so we can keep the game going. I desperately want to catch a bird and try at every chance I get. I am unsure about getting into the car but once we are moving, I’m fine and mostly just look out the windows. Mom and dad said I would likely do best with at least one other confident dog in the house or a parent who can stay with me most of the time. At least until I get the hang of my new life. I would love to meet you and hope I can be your new best friend!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 22, 2024, 7:53 pm

Just look at that smile and try not to fall in love. He LOVES to play and run in the backyard. He also enjoys getting out for walks and staying in for snuggles.  Barney does well with the playful resident dog and he is great with kids and is ok with cats although will give chase from time to time. He goes to his kennel very well, he stays in there to sleep at night and during work. He is house trained, although  his queues can be pretty subtle. He can be a bit of a counter surfer as well if left unsupervised.  If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

He wants to be part of the group and loves to know he’s loved. He is absolutely a wonderful guy. His Bob tail goes at 100 mph when he is being loved.  He loves people, does great with kids. He is a Ladies Man and prefers women, but men are ok too. He is house trained but being a senior gentleman he needs to go more often and early in morning. He has just completed his heartworm treatment and will start his daily walks again now that the exercise restrictions have been lifted.
