About Me Hi there! I’m one of the newest residents at The PURRfect Match Cat Adoption Center, and I’m still settling into all the new sights, sounds, and routines around here. Because I just arrived, my friends at The Rescue Crew are still getting to know my personality, favorite things, and what kind of home will help me thrive best. Meet Dotty! <3 Dotty and her mom, Delilah, were found abandoned at a farm and turned over to Rescue. Dotty, a beautiful calico, was born around May 2020. She is quiet, affectionate on her terms with trusted people, and avoidant of strangers. Dotty enjoys window watching and playing with wand toys as long as there is no competition. She is on the passive side and really enjoys Delilah’s companionship. Dotty likes a little bit of petting and brushing. She does not like being picked up and prefers to sit near you. She gets along with most cats. Dotty has not met dogs, nor kids under age nine, but if they are gentle and quiet she will be fine. Are you the patient person willing to give her time to trust and blossom? This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Cats have been vet checked, spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have distemper and rabies shots. Adoption fees are $200+tax and for cats age 6+ the fee is $175+tax. Looking for a cat to pair with your art? Cheesecake’s natural grace and preferred recline positions makes him an ideal companion piece to your Modern abstract expressionist art collection. He spends most of his days in statuesque poses, on the softest surfaces he can find, his immaculate white fur spotted with black, an instant classic! This comes to no surprise as he hails from Mother England and still carries the poise and manners of a British gentleman. At 8 years young, he prefers a life of indolence, the playfulness of youth long behind him. Yet, as he gets comfortable with his caretakers, he would lie on his back, baring his belly, paws folded forward, unabashedly asking for pets. He is particularly fond of his head being scratched and produces the most melodious meows to obtain them. When he first arrived, he was fearfully skittish and spent the first week under the bed. But as time goes on, he warmed up to the humans around him and now, even with guests, would be seen prancing around in his black and white coat. Still, his proud old man spirit refuses to be picked up. He needs trickery and bribes to get into his carrier or take his medicine. A suitable caretaker for him should have the patience and experience tending to distrusting cats, who find it rewarding to earn trust more so than instant gratification. Once this trust is earned, he is a soothing companion who comes up to you with bouts of affection and pure joy.

Meet Sylus and Colby — a bonded pair of best friends looking for a home where they can stay together forever. Sylus is a sleek black cat estimated to be around 5 years old. Once he settles into his surroundings, he becomes the brave and confident leader of the duo. Colby, a handsome orange tabby estimated at 3 years old, relies heavily on his best buddy for comfort and reassurance. If Colby can’t find Sylus nearby, he becomes stressed and may yowl or pace while searching for him. Both boys came to rescue as an owner surrender and are adjusting to all the changes in their lives. With a little patience and time to feel secure, Colby blossoms into a very affectionate cat who truly loves attention. Sylus helps him feel safe and confident every step of the way. These two enjoy the simple comforts in life — Friskies wet and dry food, cozy hidey-hole beds where they can feel secure, and tall perches where they can quietly observe everything going on around them. Sylus and Colby are searching for a calm, understanding home that will give them the time they need to settle in and continue strengthening their trust. Watching their bond and companionship is truly special, and they’re happiest when together.

Marmalade is a beautiful, independent girl who likes to take life at her own pace. She can be pretty aloof at first and may need extra time to feel comfortable in a new home. While she isn’t usually the type to run up asking for attention, she does occasionally come over for pets when she’s ready. Her funny little love language? Sleeping right on top of her person! If you wake up at night and the blankets are feeling a little heavy, just know your friend has quietly chosen you as her favorite nap spot. Marmalade will likely do best with an adopter who understands shy or independent cats, is willing to give her time, and can start her in a smaller space while she adjusts. She may not be the best fit for someone looking for a super social, cuddly cat right away — but for the right person, she has her own quiet, quirky way of bonding.
