Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *Bonded with Cutie* Annie is a gorgeous calico cat with beautiful hazel eyes! She is a chill cat that loves affection and to be scratched! Her ideal afternoon consists of naps in the sun on her cat tree. Annie likes to stretch out on the floor and then roll over onto her side and pull herself along on the floor like she's is scooting on her side - it's adorable and hilarious! Annie loves her sister Cutie so much and they need to be adopted together. Check her out here!  Seriously, two cats are way better than one and these gals are sweethearts! Annie is from an owner surrender with sister. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. You'll be able to enter this pet's name on the second page of the donation form. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! My name is Dory and I have quite the story to tell you! My foster mom saw me at a local park and at first thought I was someone’s barn cat because I walked up to her but then went on my way. However, 2 months later, my foster mom saw a photo of me pop up on Facebook because someone else found me at this same park and was seeing if I belonged to someone. This time she noticed I lost weight and had lots of ticks on me. My foster mom knew right away to come get me and start finding my forever home. I enjoyed sleeping right by the parking lot out in the open - my foster mom thinks my previous owners abandoned me right there.  At first, I am not trusting of humans and don’t want to be pet or held. I need a home that will let me settle in and adjust on my own time with little interaction so I can get used to the new smells, environment, and people. I get very scared in new situations and am not a fan of change. My foster mom has been working with me for quite awhile and my favorite thing is chin scratches and sleeping on her lap while she works from home.    I like to play, too! Check out this video of me playing with some of my toys . I don’t like loud noises or fast movements. I will do best in a calm and quiet home without any children, and with people who know and understand cat social cues and behavior. I will be shy and unsure for a while but once I warm up to new people, I just want to snuggle! I enjoy snuggling in blankets, on your lap or soaking up some sun from a window. I really love toys, especially tennis balls but I can get overstimulated with toys so please be careful of your hands because I might accidentally scratch! Dory is from a stray surrender. Story
3 yr, 5 months Dotty and her mom, Delilah, were found abandoned at a farm and turned over to Rescue. Dotty, a beautiful calico, was born around May 2020. She is quiet, affectionate on her terms with trusted people, and avoidant of strangers. Dotty enjoys window watching and playing with wand toys as long as there is no competition. She is on the passive side and really enjoys Delilah’s companionship. Dotty likes a little bit of petting and brushing. She does not like being picked up and prefers to sit near you. She gets along with most cats. Dotty has not met dogs, nor kids under age nine, but if they are gentle and quiet she will be fine. Are you the patient person willing to give her time to trust and blossom? This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Cats have been vet checked, spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have distemper and rabies shots. Adoption fees are $200+tax and for cats age 6+ the fee is $175+tax. Some special breeds are $250+tax. For further information or to start the adoption process, leave a message at 612-202-9492 or email cattalesmn@outlook.com If you are gone 7 or more hours a day, please consider adopting two cats, as one cat usually gets bored. Two cats are easier to care for than one (they self-entertain while you are at work), and they are emotionally healthier (don’t get lonely and bored). ~*~*~* Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cattalesmn *~*~*~*~*

Story
Priscilla is a young, friendly dilute calico cat born December 2022. With those she knows she tolerates being carried, jumps into your lap, and stays for short sessions of petting or brushing. She likes tummy stroking, window watching, and playing with toys with you or by herself. Priscilla door greets, ankle rubs, gives kitty kisses, rubs faces, kneads you, and touches your nose. She is shy around strangers, tolerates respectful dogs, and is fine with kind kids, and most cats. She uses her litterbox well and a scratching post. She arrived at the Rescue with an advanced viral eye infection in one eye. After treatment the right eye has partial vision. An inexpensive med (lysine powder $17 for a 6 month supply) is put on her food once a day. If she becomes stressed, her eye gets weepy. The vet says as she matures and her immune system strengthens, it is possible it will cease to act up under stress. None of this stops her from being a affectionate, friendly young cat that would make a wonderful companion. A sibling is available. Adoption fee is $200. This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Cats have been vet checked, spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have distemper and rabies shots. Story
Hi, I'm Mrs. Tabitha, Mrs. T for short! Do you ever wish you had a friend to sit with on the couch and judge the world with while you eat snacks - all while knowing you should diet? Are you experiencing a crisis and cut your own bangs like me? Do people talk on and on to you, and all you can do is space out and sit on your cardboard box and hope they will stop? Do you have the patience and not mind if I don't really like you at first, but will allow you to pet my chonky body? Do you wish you had a diet buddy who you can complain about the taste of diet food to? Then I am your girl! My name is Mrs. Tabitha! I am looking for the right person to give me a furever home and accept me as I am. I enjoy food, but the people at the rescue think I should lose some weight. I guess I could lose a few pounds, but hey, can't we all? I know if you meet me, you will think I don't like you - but that is just a front - I just dislike everyone else in the world. I just want one person who loves me for all that I am - could that be you? DOB (estimated) - 6/13/08 House trained - Yes Weight - 16lbs Gets along with kids - Older, responsible kids Gets along with cats - No Gets along with dogs - No Adoption fee - $90 Link to adoption application - https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEHR/Cat

Story
Don't let my cute face fool you, I am an independent lady. I don't need anyone but feline friends. Ok so maybe I kinda might like you a little when your dishing out that canned food, brushing me, but that is it! And maybe I might like you if you have a toy mouse for me or if you are holding that thing that controls the red dot. But only then! I may also like you a little if you just happen to have some catnip but then I draw the line. If you think you can handle that then maybe just maybe someday we could be great friends but for now I need someone who can be understanding and patient. Humans weren't always so great to me. It's not my fault. I still deserve a chance. I personally think any human would be lucky to have a kitty as cute as me but I may be a bit bias ;) Date of birth (estimated): 12/6/18 Good with Dogs: Unknown Good with Cats: Yes House Trained: Yes Adoption Fee: $90 Submit an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEHR/Cat I live at the Sanctuary. Story
Hi! My name is Olivia. I am a sweet, snuggly, little girl who loves to love. I didn't get treated the best early in life. Because of this I had to have all my teeth removed. It's no so bad since I get to eat all canned food now. Yum! I get along with other kitty friends, but I absolutely love people. I would love to have a home where people have the time to give me affection and don't mind if I sit on their lap. I have times where I am independent but I do really love affection. If you think I might be the right fit for you fill out an adoption application and maybe we can meet! Adoption Fee $140 Apply Online: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEHR/Cat *Olivia does have reactions to vaccines so her new family will need to be prepared to make sure their vet is aware, and can give preventative medications before any new vaccines*
