Story
Charlotte was born last August to a family that didn’t give her much attention. Then she was brought to a local shelter where she was very scared. Since coming to The Cottage she has begun to feel comfortable. She likes her kitty friends and loves to be able to hang out in the catio. She has begun to trust people and likes pets. If interested in this kitty or and of our other cats please fill out an interest form at kittycottagesanctuary.org/adoptions-interest-formJune 12, 2025, 8:34 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **Bonded to Zara**Meet Masala! Masala is a beautiful, stocky girl with a big heart and a touch of sass. She loves cuddling and, especially when she’s with her sister, purrs up a storm. While being held isn’t her favorite, she truly enjoys affection, pets, and happily making biscuits for her people. Masala can be a bit vocal and expressive when she’s bored or feeling cooped up, and she has shown some mild nippiness in those moments. With more space to explore and mental stimulation, she is expected to thrive and show her best self. In the right environment, Masala has all the potential to truly blossom. She enjoys toys but is a little less active than her sister Zara, preferring a calmer play style. Masala has not yet been introduced to other resident cats and would likely do best with slow, patient introductions. Overall, she is a good, affectionate kitty who will reward a loving home with cuddles, purrs, and plenty of biscuit-making moments.  Masala is from an owner surrender with her sister Zara , and they must be adopted together. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 21, 2025, 10:27 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MissGray’s story began tucked away in a woodpile, where she was born into a small colony of outdoor cats. Thanks to a compassionate property owner, she and her feline family became part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program and were able to live safely in an insulated garage. Her days were filled with companionship—especially with her mother, who was her closest friend. They hunted together, played chase, and curled up side by side for warmth and comfort. Recently, MissGray’s mother did not return, leaving her to face the world on her own. Despite this loss, MissGray has shown remarkable resilience. The property owner decided to bring her indoors to see how she would adjust, and she has truly surprised everyone. MissGray is doing wonderfully in her indoor foster home and is learning that this new world is a safe and loving place. She has excellent litter box manners and is gaining confidence each day. While she may be shy at first, after about a week she began greeting her foster mom at the door, rubbing against her foster dad’s legs, and meowing to say hello. Once she trusts you, she loves to show her belly and ask for pets. She has even started climbing into her foster mom’s lap and will happily relax there for a few minutes at a time. MissGray enjoys human companionship and would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. She has been introduced to other cats and seems to enjoy feline company, though slow, thoughtful introductions to new cats will be important. Missgray has also taking a special liking to her roommate in her foster home, Faye, and really love having her around. Thinking about two cats? Check out Faye's profile.  MissGray is truly a sweet soul with incredibly soft fur, and a heart that’s learning to trust again. She’s ready for a loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and never alone again. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $300 plus taxSmall but mighty, Tina is a fluffy little firecracker with a curious nose and a brave heart. She loves being up front where the action is, watching everything with wide, thoughtful eyes. Don’t let her size fool you—this girl knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to claim the best spot on the carpet. Professional cuteness coordinator and future ruler of the house. Quietly observant and endlessly gentle, Louise prefers to take it all in from a cozy distance. She’s the soft-spoken sweetheart who loves tunnels, lounging, and keeping an eye on her sister. With her calm presence and soulful gaze, Louise is the perfect balance to Tinas bold energy—and the ultimate snuggle buddy once she warms up.  * Kittens under 4 months tend to do best in homes with another cat or kitten for socialization.  If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //
