Story
Petunia's approximate birthdate is June 04, 2015. She is spayed, vaccinated, and she has tested negative for FIV/FELV. She also has a registered microchip. Petunia came in to rescue as part of relocation of outdoor cats when they were no longer welcome on the property. Some of these cats were social cats that had previously lived in a home. Most were scared and just needed time to come around. Petunia was one of those cats. She is still scared with sudden movements but will seek attention when she feels safe. She would do best in a home with a predictable routine and another friendly cat to help build her confidence and show her the way. She will make a great companion for the right person who wants to give a cat a chance at living a safe and loved life. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Petunia, please complete an adoption application at savingtails.net Saving Tails Animal Rescue (STAR) is a 501(c)3 registered no-kill, non profit animal rescue. All animals are placed in loving foster homes until their forever family finds them. Because there is not a physical shelter location, foster homes are needed to help rescue local animals who are in danger of euthanasia. If you would be interested in fostering an animal in need, please complete a foster application at savingtails.netFebruary 16, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
We found Tiny over a year ago and she was coming into our yard a few times and seemed friendly. We thought she belonged to someone so left her alone until a coyote was stalking her in our backyard and my spouse ran out and got her. We did the searches for her home without luck. She's amazing with our dogs, says hi, cuddles them and fits into their pack. They are both large dogs. She's very cute, will cuddle sometimes, has super soft fur and overall a delightful cat. Reason we are removing is due to her and our other 2 cats not getting along and it's been almost a year and a half of trying many things. Both of my cats our purebred "wild" breeds so that could be an issue of it. I do think finding a home with only dogs is safer. She was outdoors for so long i wouldn't recommend small critter pets around her, she's a great mouse hunter. We are sad it's not working out but we've fostered many dogs in the past and know theirs a great home out there for her.

Story
I live in a senior living apartment and my neighbor who is the original owner of momo suddenly fell ill and was hospitalized. I was informed that she can no longer care for him so I took him in temporarily. He adapted to my home quickly. He’s very friendly to strangers. I’ve had him for 2 months now. He’s such a calm and strong cat. His presence grows on you and he has a cute heart shape black spot above his tail. Momo is a match for any loving home. He’s quite adaptable and will get comfy quickly. I believe he’ll be a great companion.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! My name is Dory and I have quite the story to tell you! My foster mom saw me at a local park and at first thought I was someone’s barn cat because I walked up to her but then went on my way. However, 2 months later, my foster mom saw a photo of me pop up on Facebook because someone else found me at this same park and was seeing if I belonged to someone. This time she noticed I lost weight and had lots of ticks on me. My foster mom knew right away to come get me and start finding my forever home. I enjoyed sleeping right by the parking lot out in the open - my foster mom thinks my previous owners abandoned me right there.  At first, I am not trusting of humans and don’t want to be pet or held. I need a home that will let me settle in and adjust on my own time with little interaction so I can get used to the new smells, environment, and people. I get very scared in new situations and am not a fan of change. My foster mom has been working with me for quite awhile and my favorite thing is chin scratches and sleeping on her lap while she works from home.    I like to play, too! Check out this video of me playing with some of my toys . I don’t like loud noises or fast movements. I will do best in a calm and quiet home without any children, and with people who know and understand cat social cues and behavior. I will be shy and unsure for a while but once I warm up to new people, I just want to snuggle! I enjoy snuggling in blankets, on your lap or soaking up some sun from a window. I really love toys, especially tennis balls but I can get overstimulated with toys so please be careful of your hands because I might accidentally scratch! Dory is from a stray surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Cali! Cali is a sweet girl who started life as a barn kitty. She was so affectionate that her owners wanted her to have a home to call her own. Since moving inside, Cali has already decided this is the life of luxury. Not only is Cali's coloring absolutely gorgeous, her personality is even better. She loves to get scratches and pets. She loves to play with toys and snuggle up for naps after. Cali has been around cats, dogs, and all ages of humans and she loves them all. Cali would love a family with another cat friend to play with! Cali is from an owner surrender with one sibling. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. You'll be able to enter this pet's name on the second page of the donation form. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
