Story
Hello, This is Bowie. He is a chihuahua mix and weighs approx. 20 pounds and is 2 years old, Bowie is a lover. We have a 2 year old daughter that loves him very much. They play together on a regular basis. We also have a Jack Russel chihuahua mix that is Bowies best friend. He gets along with other dogs really well and is a very patient dog. His bark is very soft and unassuming. The reason we are looking to RE-Home Bowie is because he deserves some extra training and time spent that we can’t afford to give him with our busy schedules. We just downgraded to a one bedroom apartment and Bowie seems to have a behavior issue where he pees inside the house and chews on low hanging items. Again, he is an amazing dog that needs the tender love and care and a little training that unfortunalty we can’t provide. We also don’t have a yard anymore for him to run around in. The perfect home would be a work from home family or retired individual wanting a calm, gentle, and friendly new companion.

Story
Ruby is a 4-5 year old chihuahua/terrier mix who’s a good boy and needs a loving home! He’s potty-trained and the absolute sweetest. He is a little shy and is scared of big dogs, but will always greet you with excitement and happy licks. Looking to re-home him to a new family that will give him the extra attention he deserves!

Story
A small Chihuahua mix was thrown over a high fence and abandoned. This may sound very cruel and inhumane but the story gets worse: the poor little dog is missing a paw and could have been further injured by the fall. The AALOC team found him terrified, cowering in fear. He was cold and scared and did not trust anyone at first. The team named him Cassidy and after a few days of loving care, he came out of his shell and has become an affectionate, loving dog. Although he can be timid at first, particularly with men, Cassidy warms up quickly. Once he gets to know you he becomes a velcro dog always looking for an opportunity to sit on your lap! Please apply to adopt Cassidy at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Cassidy and get to know him a bit. Donation of $165 for dog adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit (in Orange County, CA). For more information on adoption policies visit our dog adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org or by phone (714) 893-4393.

BONDED PAIR - MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER Candy (female) - born 3/1/2022 Jackson (male) - born 9/1/2020 Losing her apartment meant losing her dogs. Candy and Jackson’s previous owner stopped by the kennel and explained she had lost her apartment and couldn’t find a new one that would take her three dogs. In the meantime she was living with a friend and was allowed one pet. It was a difficult decision but she surrendered Candy and Jackson to AALOC. Both pups are now living with a foster family but they need a permanent home to call their own. Candy, a female, and Jackson, a male and possibly Candy’s dad, are small, young Chihuahua mixes. Candy is about seven pounds in size and Jackson is about nine pounds. These tiny two dogs are a bonded pair and love to cuddle up together. Both are very friendly, want to give kisses, and like to jump around and play. Candy is particularly fond of belly rubs and both are just as sweet as they come! Please complete an application to adopt Candy and Jackson at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Candy and Jackson and get to know them a bit. Donation of $165 per dog includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. Story
AALOC was notified by neighbors complaining about a Chihuahua that was running down the street. This little guy had even come up to AALOC’s door. We were able to find the dog’s owner and asked if they needed help securing their dog. They claimed someone had dumped the dog in their backyard a couple of months ago and they didn’t want to keep him. The AALOC team found out it was all a lie – Sundance had been their pet since he was a puppy. He just wasn’t wanted anymore. We’re sure we will be able to find someone else who will love him forever. Sundance is a small, brown and white Chihuahua, weighing in at only seven pounds. He’s unsure about new people but once he gets to know you, he’s your very best friend. Please complete an application to adopt Sundance at www.AALOC.org. Story
At 8:30pm an older woman threw this small eight-pound Chihuahua mix over AALOC’s tall side gate and left her. The poor little girl frantically looked for her owner and tried to get back to her. Thankfully a couple of workers happened to be training in the evening and found her, otherwise she would’ve been out all night herself. She was very frightened, not aggressive, just very scared. They got her into a crate in the carport for the night. The employees said she cried all night. Lola is a very sweet female, Chihuahua mix. Because she is a bit timid at first we feel the best placement for her would be a quiet, adult-only home. Please complete an application to adopt Lola at www.AALOC.org. Story
On a cold December morning, AALOC caregivers discovered a frightened little dog who had been left in a crate by the door. She was wearing a sweater, but she was trembling and terrified. Several other sweaters were left in her crate along with her dog bed. No note was left, so we will never know her name, her story or why her owner felt that this was their only option. We've given her the name Isabelle and she is a lovely and sweet little girl with warm brown eyes. Please complete an application to adopt Isabelle at www.AALOC.org.
