It takes him a little time to warm up to new faces, but once he trusts you, he becomes your loyal shadow. He loves curling up in your bed, sleeping by your side, and quietly following you from room to room. Milo enjoys playing with other dogs and does well in a home with canine companions. He also ignores the cats, treating them like interesting little aliens he prefers to observe rather than bother. He has an enormous amount of love to give to a patient family who will give him the time and understanding he needs to feel secure. Once he bonds with you, he sticks by you with his whole heart. This adorable pup is with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but he's ready to trade the bayou for life in NJ if we can find a loving foster or even better, a forever family here. This handsome boy spent a a few months waiting patiently in a shelter. Once rescued, he started and successfully completed heartworm treatment- and now he's healthy, happy, and ready to start his next chapter! He's a super sweet, affectionate pup who loves being near his people. He's great in his kennel and fully kennel-trained, and while he may have a few accidents as he adjusts to a new routine, he seems to be mostly house-trained. He's also received his ProHeart shot so he's all set on preventatives. At around 3-5 years old, he's the perfect mix of playful and calm. He's food motivated, listens well, and just wants to please. Nyla came to us from our owner surrender program. She is unsure of new people at first, but she just needs a little adjustment time. Once she feels safe in a home, she truly is very sweet and loving. This girl loves her belly rubs and scratches behind her ear. She gets very excited when her foster parents come home. She will bark at strangers, but warms up pretty quickly. Nyla is currently on a special diet for stomach sensitivities. She might not be able to hear very well because of her ear hematomas; they are being removed in early February. Nyla likes to cuddle in bed and on the couch. Every now and then she gets excited and plays with toys. She is fine with other dogs but we haven't yet seen her play with them. Nyla is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines, heartworm and flea & tick preventatives. She had a dental procedure in January. Nyla tested negative for heartworm. She will not be available for adoption until medically cleared most likely not prior to mid February. Her adoption fee is $300. I was a going through a rough patch in my teen years and I was gifted a Shih Tzu, whom i loved dearly. She cured me in a way and I will forever be grateful to have met her. Unfortunately she passed, she was only 3 years old. Before leaving me she somehow got pregnant with the neighbors chiwawa (I wasn’t aware until the baby’s were the spitting image of the father). She watched them turn 2 months old then passed due to rat poison she found in our yard. She gave birth to two babies. I couldn’t betray her and give them up easily so I fought to keep them, I got a job at 16 to pay for their food, lifestyle and vet check ups. I am now 20 and living alone, struggling with too many things at once, I can’t afford to keep them nor are the allowed in my building where I rent. These boys have been through everything with me. They love to play and go on walks. They were mauled by a pitbull that jumped into our yard three years ago and have not been able to trust other dogs since.
