Story
Meet Peanut! Peanut is an absolute doll! She is approx 8- 10 years old and weighs only about 8 pounds. Peanut is a Dachshund and chihuahua mix, or as we like to call her a Chiweenie! Peanut is very shy at first when she meets new people. She loves to curl up in snuggle ball or blanket. Peanut is crate trained and is perfectly house trained! Peanut will bark to go outside to potty, and will only go outside on a leash! She waits until you put her leash on to go outside! If you don’t get her outside, she will potty in the house, but will use a potty pad if available. Peanut does love going for walks and exploring the area! Peanut also loves kids! Her foster home as several grand kids, of different ages. that visit regularly! Peanut is also good with cats and other dogs, she is not good with chickens.! Peanut has been treated for heartworms, and doesn’t seem to have any lasting health concerns. Peanut also had bloodwork and a dental cleaning at her vet visit!
Interested in becoming a forever home for Peanut? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application.
If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once.
Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws .
We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Peanut.
We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Peanut the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us.
Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.
All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.
Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
