Story
Caesar is a beloved Chihuahua in need of a new home. He is extremely loyal and loving to his “pack” and frequently ready to shower his people with affection. He is treat and food-motivated and eager to please. And he loves naps and cuddles. Caesar was rescued in 2018 and struggles with reactivity and aggression to many other dogs (except other Chihuahuas!), as well as young children. He also takes time to warm up to new acquaintances. His current family would love to keep him forever, but has a young child and sadly must find another home for Caesar. A busy household with new people and/or young children is not the right environment for Caesar. A quiet loving home would be ideal! Key Facts: Type of Dog: Chihuahua mix (64% Chihuahua, 14% Dachshund, etc.) Age: 7-8 years Weight: ~16 lbs Housetrained: Yes! Caesar is exceptionally good at waiting for outside trips Health / Vaccinations: Up to date on all immunizations

Story
He is absolutely perfect in every way. Friendly, sweet, playful and loving as any dog can be. I am so heartbroken to have to part with him but this is first and foremost for his own good and happiness as I have to take care of my ailing mother and I dot want to leave him alone for long hours day after day. About Beckett: purebred medium hair applehead chihuahua. I believe he weighs about 4lbs. He has not been neutered because one of his testicles have not descended and the vet advised that we wait rather than put him through surgery. He has been a 100% indoor dog. He is mostly up to date on his shots except for one (cant remember which) but I know I missed his appointment because I was traveling for work. In any case, he needs to get his shots just to be sure. I will have to meet the adopting family before I hand him over, so please be in NY or willing to travel to NY (Manhattan). Website did not allow me to list correct adoption fee.

Story
Meet Beanie! QUEEN BEANIE as we like to call her, is the most special girl. Beanie is 5-7 years old. We have had Beanie for a couple weeks now and it's been the greatest pleasure to see her blossom from the shy and nervous girl she was. Beanie is the epitome of perfection. She is the best gal, sweet, respectful, loving, quiet, and a great companion for any family. She currently lives with 2 foster fur siblings and a 3 year old child. She is very respectful of all the dogs she encounters and has treated my son with such kindness. She displays only warmth and a sweet demeanor. Beanie grows more confident everyday and enjoys going for a stroll around the neighborhood and walks so well on the leash, always greeting furry friends along the way. She will never pass up a treat, which has been so helpful in learning basic commands like "sit" and "come". Her potty training has come a long way since entering foster care, she has had very minimal accidents in the home now and is pottying outside or on the pee pee pad. She loves to be caressed on her head while laying back with you and watching TV or sitting out on the grass at the park. She loves to snuggle with us in bed, and when she's ready for some space, she curls up into a ball in her kennel all on her own until the next day. Beanie loves nothing more than to be loved and give that love right back. She would make the perfect addition to any family.  ##2072990##

Story
Sweet Pea, also affectionately known as Spicy, is a 12-year-old, 12-pound female chihuahua mix from San Diego! Sweet Pea is classic old lady chi who is a fiercely loyal companion. She LOVES her foster mom with all her being - constantly needing to be snuggled up on the couch or seeking out pets and affection. In classic chihuahua fashion, she has the tendency to guard her favorite person from other people and dogs in the house. As she adjusts and gets more comfortable, she has made progress with her "spicy" barking and snapping but still needs attentive and savvy owners to set boundaries and manage her chi tendencies. She is amazing on leash and housebroken so would be great for an easy going lower energy home. She is looking for a chihuahua experienced home with no young children. She wants to be your one and only so she is best as an only dog. She has been great living with her mellow cat foster siblings and is very respectful of their space.  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. To apply for Spicy, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##1848801##

Story
Pinky was found wandering with a sibling, Brain, who is also up for adoption. Ideally we would love to have them adopted together, talk about a twofer! While they may have their arguments (who doesn't!), they do seem bonded, love sleeping in the same bed all snuggled up, and seem to always want to even get attention together. You tell us if that doesn't scream package deal! Pinky may look teeny, but she can be spunky around big dogs that don't give her her space. Otherwise just seems to ignore them; we love a queen that protects her peace! She is VERY food motivated and you'll have to make sure she doesn't get at her siblings food! She is super sweet and loves attention, and no barking at people or showing any typical "chihuahua" behaviors! If you feel like you can open up your heart to Pinky (and/or Brain), please fill out our adoption questionnaire!

Lola is a very loving and active dog. She is 1.5 years old with lots of energy to play. She loves neck rubs and rubber balls. Ideally, she would like a home with a yard to run around because she loves to run and jump. She is house trained and crate trained. She sleeps in her bed all night. She does not bark only when in the presence of strangers, in order to protect her owner. She loves walks and is ok with 3 walks a day. She has not dietary restrictions or special diets. She is a very easy going dog. She did have some anxiety when we first got her but that goes away when she gets to know you. Im giving everything she needs, food, leash, treat, crave, and bed.

Story
This little 10 pound guy is Macho! Macho is a very independent little guy who is a ton of fun when he gets to know you and feels more comfortable around you. He is super playful and loves long walks around the neighborhood, super social with everyone he meets! He doesn't like to be pet or held too much, but once he gets comfortable with you he loves to hang out and will give the most adorable little kisses and nibbles. He needs an experienced and patient adopter who can work with him on learning to trust people and help him with some bad habits like resource guarding and some barking. He can bite sometimes when stressed. He would do best in a larger apartment or a house where he is not able to hear every noise! Do you have room in your heart and home for little Macho? Apply today!

Story
BROOKLYN, NY: Lovely lady Ajax is cuter than a button, loves her fellow dogs, and is ready to be your best gal pal! Adorable Ajax is estimated to be 8 years young and weighs 19 lbs. She is incredibly playful and happy to be alive! Sadly, she was found as a stray, just a tiny little girl in a crazy, huge city. But with her stunning good looks and slightly pudgy, potato body, we know she had a home somewhere – a home she was missing terribly while at the shelter. Ajax was rescued from euthanasia in March 2024 and has been in a loving foster home since, harmoniously living with 2 other dogs (but likes to chase the cat). Ajax is spunky cutie patutie, but also loving and affectionate. She is a fun-loving and lively middle aged lady. Ajax is very friendly with other dogs and happy to make new friends, adjusting very quickly in foster care. She loves to snuggle up next to a nice warm body – human or canine. She will roll over for belly rubs and be so excited to see you when waking up or arriving home. And her charming little face just brightens up your day! Ajax is fully vetted, spayed, recently groomed, and micro chipped. Beautiful Ajax might be small, but her love is BIG! After everything she has been through, Ajax would love to have the stability of a forever home in which she can shower her person or people with all her love! Can that be with you? If you can open your heart and home to sweet little Ajax, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at AmsterDog.org. Please fill out an application to adopt Ajax at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need!
