Is getting rehab, but long walks or exercise should be adjusted based on his condition. 2⃣ Rescue Story * Miracle was brought to the Gimje Shelter with fractures in both hind legs and spine. Due to overcrowding, he couldn’t receive the care he needed at the shelter. Adogs rescued him, and he received orthopedic surgery and continuous treatment. 3⃣ Personality and Behavior • With People: Likes people and adjusts well! May be shy at first and after some time to sniff and explore, gets to be familiar to them. Once comfortable, he’ll wag his tail and approach for pets. • With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Is calm in nature, and prefers quietly watching others rather than rough play. * With Cats: Does not mind cats and has no issue. • Separation Anxiety: Unknown due to the group living at the center. May need training at the home environment. • Potty Training: Has ccasional potty accidents. When getting surprised or getting up after sleep, accidental potty is on the cushion. • Grooming: Very well-behaved during baths. Once getting familiar, she shows her playful and adorable side. With the caregiver, she stays by the person's side, plays with her toys, naps, and even shows her belly. Is a bit wary of people standing and moving around; she usually keeps her distorted retreats to her kennel. * With Dogs: Got along well with other dogs at our center. Hasn’t met any dog friends since moving to the foster home. * With Cats: Hasn’t met them yet. * Separation Anxiety: Unclear, as she is rarely left alone in the foster home. * Potty Training: Has an accuracy rate of 99% pottying indoors on potty pads but she tries to move away before she's completely done pooping. * Hygiene: Gets a bath once a month. * Walks: Her vaccinations are not complete, so she hasn’t been on any walks. * Car Sickness: Didn’t show any signs of car sickness. * Doesn’t bite, but may nibble or nip since she’s still a teething puppy. MEET US IN STRATFORD, CONNECTICUT!! Hello everyone. Meet Geezer and Grover, a bonded pair of senior Chihuahua mixes, dumped inside a fenced-in pool area at an apartment complex in San Antonio, Texas. It’s a miracle neither one fell in the pool and drowned, since they were both in very poor shape, emaciated, and trying desperately to drink water from the pool. They had missing fur and crusty skin, mostly along their backs and tail, from chronic fleas and itching. Geezer also had a massive hernia on his bottom and is missing most of his teeth. Thankfully, 4 Little Paws Rescue got hold of them, and their road to recovery began. Right away, both boys had special medicated baths, vaccines, neuters, and a much-needed hernia repair for Geezer. A few weeks later, they are healthy and happy and are ready to find a wonderful home to spend their golden years, although they are nowhere near ready for retirement!! I’m Geezer. I am about 12 years old and weigh just 11.1 lbs. I am still very active, playful, and friendly, love toys and treats, walks to the park, and I’m sweet as can be. My days of running zoomies may be behind me, but I will jump off a raised deck, leaping over 3 stairs like a youngster, LOL! I enjoy a balanced life… fun mixed with relaxation. A cozy dog bed, squeaky toys, lots of love, and a warm lap to snuggle in are all on my bucket list. I’m well-behaved, only bark to alert, and I’m housebroken. Although I have very few teeth, most are molars, so no problem at all eating my yummy kibble. I have a happy and grateful attitude, and it's clear that I’m really enjoying my new lease on life! I get along great with other dogs and enjoy dog walks with my pack of doggy friends, but I’m not very playful. I am more the “hang out with my doggy friends" kind of guy. I am housebroken and know how to use a doggy door. I eat my kibble fast, so I use a puzzle bowl/slow-feeder. I only bark to alert, and although right now I sleep in a crate, I would probably be in heaven if I’m allowed to snuggle in bed with you! Geezer and I depend on each other for support and company. After a long process of persuasion, Adogs team obtained a relinquishment agreement from their owner and safely rescued both dogs. Thankfully, Boksunga has been adopted and is living a new life, and Bamtori has regained his health with proper medical treatment and care after the rescue. 3⃣ Personality & Characteristics • With People: Loves people — even strangers! Is very friendly and affectionate right away. Easily trusts familiar people and seeks comfort from them. Is a sweet, loving little dog who enjoys being petted and loves to climb into people’s laps for cuddles. • With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Used to enjoy running and playing with his best friend #AdogsJoseph, who has since been adopted. Is very calm and enjoys her alone time. • With Cats: Lived peacefully with cats at the center. • Separation Anxiety: Since he lives in a group setting at the center, it’s hard to assess precisely. However, seems to do well even when people are not around. • House Training: Currently stays indoors at the center and uses pee pads well. • Grooming: Generally tolerates being handled and groomed quite well. • Car Rides: Relaxes comfortably and rests well during car rides. • Biting: Doesn’t bite at all — is a gentle and calm boy. • Barking: Barks occasionally, which is soft and not bothersome. • Likes: Is a people-loving, friendly dog who greets everyone warmly! • Dislikes: Sometimes gets jealous when others receive attention, due to his affection to people.
