Story
Hola friends, My name is Frito, a 7-year-old, 9.5 lb Chihuahua mix, and I'm a survivor of neglect. I was living in Jalisco Mexico, badly mistreated by humans who were supposed to love and care for me. I was tied to a post when rescuers found me, front teeth broken, and underweight, with no food or water or shelter in sight. I was scared but grateful to be taken away and ended up with a local dog rescue, where I patiently waited to find a new family. But fate had a different plan for me… instead, 4 Little Paws Rescue brought me to America on a bus along with 30 other rescue dogs to help us find forever homes. So here I am. Currently in San Antonio Texas with my new foster mom, and a variety of resident dogs, settling in and making friends with everyone.
I am a sweet boy, a bit shy when I first arrived, but a day or two later when I realized I was safe, my little tail started wagging and then it became the full body wiggles I was wagging so hard. I get along great with the other dogs, but I don't play with them, we just co-exist nicely. My focus is my people. I love attention, affection, tummy rubs, and pets, snuggling beside you but mostly enjoy being curled up in your lap or carried. I’m not into doggy toys either, but I enjoy relaxing, exploring, watching you work, or puttering around the house. I am fully housebroken and have never had an accident indoors. I enjoy the outdoors mostly just to conduct my business and then back indoors for a nap or a snack. I rarely bark and I’m a good eater, taking my time to eat my food. I can walk on a leash and go for a ride in the car without a problem. I rode in on a bus and will ride out in a Mercedes transport van heading to Connecticut next week. I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little dog like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started!
