Story
Dog’s name: Topher Breed: mixed collie, 45 pounds Owner: Hope Bonem, hbonem@gmail.com, 832-474-1743 Topher is a sweet, silly 4-year-old guy with some aggressive-reactive behaviors. He is fully vaccinated and neutered. He loves walks and peanut butter and playing fetch. He loves to greet me at the door with lots of kisses and even when he doesn’t want to be touched, wants to be nearby. He is house-trained and has a crate but whines if put in it. He does great with free roam of the house (unless there’s food, which I can’t blame him for :) Topher was presumably abused by his first owner which left him wary of other dogs and strange men (he warms up to men really well, it just takes some time). With his second owner, he had a seizure and his behavior worsened. He has done OK with me, but continues to be reactive and requires additional training that I do not have the time or resources for at this time.  Topher really is so sweet and his reactions are always out of fear, but he does react by nipping/biting when he feels unsafe. He can be touch-sensitive and only wants to be touched on his own terms. He is currently on anxiety medications, which may need to be reevaluated.  Topher’s next home should not have other dogs or younger children (who won’t understand his sensitivities). Ideally, the home would have a backyard and an owner who will be patient with him and who can dedicate time to his training and reevaluating his medications. I really do believe Topher could be such a wonderful companion with proper training and it breaks my heart that I can’t give that to him at this time. He is truly so sweet at home, following me around, and anytime I’ve cried in front of him, he tries to lick the tears away. I think if these issues could be addressed he could be the perfect/most loving companion. I love him so much and unfortunately think there’s a better home out there for him.    This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post. Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! Hi there! I'm September, but my foster parents call me Harambe because I look like a silver back gorilla.  When you first meet me, I may seem a little aloof. But don't worry! Once I get to know you, I want nothing more than to be where you are.  My foster parents say I'm wicked smart; I figured out the dog door literally within an hour of being at their house! I am also totally potty trained. I think the easy access to the backyard helps, but even if there wasn't a dog door, I'd get it quickly! While kennel time isn't my favorite, I go in without protest as long as treats are involved.  I'll let you know I'd rather be out with you, but I settle down after some time. As soon as you're back, though, you'd better be letting me out! As far as overnight in the kennel goes, after a treat bribe and a few sad minutes, I settle down and sleep pretty well through the night.  If I can't make it, I know not to potty in my kennel and to let you know that I need to go out.  My foster parents have like a bazillion dogs, and I love to play with all of them. I am absolutely fearless, but I also am learning to respect the social cues from the other dogs in the house and respect boundaries.  If you're waiting for September to wake you up, here I am!! I can't wait to meet you. If you'd like to see more of me and my adventures, check out my foster dad's Instagram: @kodabearfosterpups Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##1880846##

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! Welcome to Moe’s! So glad you’re here! While I might not be able to fold you a burrito, I can 100% snuggle like one. I’m 50 lbs of goofball and love showing my people affection. I’m about 3 years young, and am a ball of joy to be around. When I’m out and about, people stop all the time to give me pets and say how cute I am (what can I say, good genes I guess). I’m know basic commands (will even shake your hand!) and absolutely love playing fetch in the yard. I get along great with all dogs, play gently with my toys, and enjoy a good roll around the grass or snow. I possess an energetic spirit but can also be lazy with you. I live for cozy moments on the couch, where I'm all about snuggling and receiving those coveted belly rubs. Sharing my life with a dog sibling would be a joy for me, but I’d also be happy giving all of my love just to human friends. Leash walking is an ongoing learning experience – I can pull a bit when other dogs are around because I’m just so excited, but I'm an attentive listener and have no doubt that with some structured training, I will be a great walking companion. I'm house-trained and can hold it for an extended period, making it convenient if you're away for work. I'm neutered, am up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and will receive heartworm treatment at the full expense of the rescue. Fill out an application now as I’d love to meet you and potentially become your FURever companion! Story
Meet Brady! This guy is so loving and just wants to please his people. True to his collie breed he is vocal and loves to chat! He absolutely loves to play and would do very well with another playful dog. He would also like his future adopters to know that he LOVES bones and toys, they are his absolute favorite. Once he's all tuckered out he just wants to get snuggled up on the couch for lots of love and pets. This guy is also fully potty-trained and crate trained. He does well with dog-friendly cats, kids, and other dogs. Brady is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. To adopt him, please complete an adoption application at www.trevorsanimalrescue.org.  ##1878713##

Story
As far as puppies go, Buckley is a totally mellow fellow! He’s a joyful little ball of fluff who knows how to turn on the charm. Buckley is sweet as can be and is a very fast learner. He’s improving his house breaking, leash walking, and crate training. He loves to play with other dogs, but also knows how to take a break and relax. His adorable little face makes you just want to scoop him up and snuggle him, to which he will happily oblige. When he runs, he’s a bounding boy of speed and agility, and when he’s sleepy he can nap for hours. Everyone who meets him loves trying to guess his breed due to his uniquely adorable look. We can assure you that, genetically speaking, Buckley is 100% a good boy.  He is going to grow up to do wonderful things and his furever home will be so lucky to have him! ##1973253##

Story
Teddy was dumped at an overcrowded shelter with his siblings at just a few weeks old.  Within a few days of being at the shelter the pups came down with parvo and only two of them ended up surviving.  Teddy and his brother Moet are the two lucky survivors.  Once they had to recovered we were able to transfer them to Brighter Days so they could socialze and get out of the shelter environment.   Teddy and Mort have been here for a couple weeks now and are doing AMAZING!  Mort was the runt of the litter and is literally half the size of his brother, Teddy.  Each day their fur gets a little lighter and the brindle color is really starting to come out!  Mort and Teddy are great little pups.  They get along great with the fosters dogs and all the humans in the home - including the little kiddos.  Mort is a little more reserved with his small size, and Teddy loves to follow his fosters around the house all the time.  They both recently experienced the snow and were zooming around in it.  Right now they are both sleeping in a crate at night and are doing well.  They are learning to sit and be great little companions.  We think Mort and Teddy would love to go to homes with other dogs to play with but would also be okay without another dog if their human has lots of time to spend with them and is active enough to get them out and about daily.   If you are interested in adopting Teddy or Mort, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##1953828##

Story
Hi, I'm Rocket! I wasn't always here, you know. I used to live in a magical world where dogs could talk! But one day, I chased a butterfly through a shimmering portal and found myself here. It was a surprise, but I'm making the best of it. I'm playful, always ready for a game of fetch. I'm smart, quickly learning new tricks. I'm brave, never backing down from a challenge. And I'm independent, content to explore on my own. But even independent pups like me need a family. Will you be my forever home? ##1945277##
