Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Meet Charlie! This tall, dark, and handsome young Rough Collie man came into rescue after his beloved human companion passed away. Charlie’s whole world has been turned upside down, and he’s understandably become a little needy as a result. We’re determined to find him a new family to shower him with love, care, and attention for the rest of his life. Charlie is a playful young pup with energy to burn! He absolutely loves being around canine and human companions. We know that he’ll absolutely thrive in a family where he has older kids and a spirited dog sibling (or two!) of a similar size to play with. Charlie has shown signs of a strong prey drive, so we think that he needs to be in a feline-free forever home. Charlie is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he can “sit” and “shake paw” on command. He’s highly motivated by praise and affection, so we’re sure that with a little time and effort, Charlie will be a perfectly proper Collie in no time! Like many Collies, Charlie loves to sing the song of his peoples, so we think he’ll do best in a single-family dwelling that doesn’t share walls with neighbors. He also has to have a physical fence at his forever home to make sure that he can get his energy out by running and playing in the yard. Could Charlie be the missing piece to your own family? Fill out an Adoption Application for him today Charlie is being fostered in Ohio f you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you

Story
Meet April, a petite 1-year-old Blue Merle Rough Collie with puppy energy for days! Her foster mom says that April is one of the sweetest pups she’s ever met—incredibly affectionate and smothering you in kisses in the very best way! April adores her people and wants to be near them at all times. She’s her foster mom’s darling little shadow! April is also amazing with kids and gladly accepts all of the attention that they offer her. She does love to chase them and can be a bit mouthy at times, but she’s very gentle and responds well to redirection. We know April would be thrilled to have some human siblings of her very own! April also loves being around other dogs, and playing with her puppy pals is a great way for her to get her energy out! She and her foster family’s resident dog enjoy running in circles together all around the house. We think April will do best in a forever family with a spirited dog sibling (or two!) to play with, and a yard with a physical fence so she’ll have plenty of room to run free! April is completely house- and crate-trained, and she sleeps soundly through the night without making a peep. Her leash walking is coming along nicely; she’ll definitely make a great walking buddy! April has great recall and already knows “sit” and “down.” We’re sure that she’ll pick up more commands and tricks in no time! If you’re looking to add a little Collie sweetheart to your pack, April just might be the girl for you! Fill out an Adoption Application for her today! To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Lance is 2 yrs old and currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Physical fence needed This 2 year old tri-colored Collie/Great Pyrenees mix is learning to live inside a warm home. He is housebroken, and his foster family has taught him his name and the commands “come,” “stay,” “sit” and “paw.” Living inside a home is new to him after living outside for most of his life. Due to this Lance tested positive for heartworm when he arrived at the rescue. He will need a little extra care as he undergos heartworm treatment (which will be covered in full by AHDRO). He'll need a family committed to following the vet's advice and providing the care and medication he will require till he recovers. His fosters describe him as adorably sweet and working on properly greeting guests and leash walking. Using treats as a motivation, Lance is making daily progress. Inside his foster home, Lance is playful, alert, and enjoys looking out the window. A physical fenced yard is required for Lance which he loves exploring and chasing squirrels. His inquisitive personality makes him very attentive to his surroundings and eager to learn new things. He will make a great addition to a loving home.Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.May 5, 2024, 8:12 am

To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Lulu is 3 yrs old. Physical fenced yard required: Are you waiting for a Lulu in your life? Lulu is waiting for you! Hey there, potential forever family! I'm Lulu, a delightful Great Pyrenees & Collie mix (DNA verified) with a heart as warm as my fur. Let me share more about myself; when I arrived at AHDRO, I tested positive for heartworms. I have completed all my treatments and am now ready for my forever home. While I appreciate the company of humans, I would prefer to be the only four-legged friend in the house. While I'm still on the road to recovery, I'll enjoy low-key activities like short walks and leisurely strolls around the yard. I'm not looking for a marathon buddy right now, just caring companions to share quiet moments and build a lifelong bond. I'll follow you from room to room, ensuring you're never lonely. Soon I will be an active girl and would love walks, frisbee in the yard/park, or maybe hiking with you. My foster mom can vouch for my impeccable manners and the joy I bring to every moment.   Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.May 5, 2024, 8:12 am

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Kelly is a beautiful, playful 8 year old collie. She is definitely a “people” girl who loves affection and hugs. In her previous home she was the only dog and she would prefer to be in an only dog household. She has learned to get along with her submissive collie foster sibling but it did require training and supervision. She has, however, done well with the household cats. Kelly is attentive to all that is going on around her and happily watches from her bed. If you want a dog that prefers dog beds to people furniture, this is your girl. She is very smart and understands Sit, Stay and Shake. She prefers to play with toys with someone rather than playing by herself. If you press a squeaky toy she will take a turn making it squeak right back at you.   Kelly has a few quirks like we all do. She was born with a slight neurological issue which makes her spin. When she is excited she spins. But she can stop in a couple of minutes and then is fine and will follows directions well. She gets overly excited by cars driving by (barks and spins) so a quiet neighborhood or windows that she cannot see out of will keep her secure, mpre calm and happy. If she does see cars, she can be distracted by giving her some attention. Kelly thrives on routine, consistency and repetition and with them can quickly learn the rules and wishes of the humans in her world. She needs a patient loving person that will work with her in a kind way. She’s very affectionate and sweet and she will be your loyal frien The adoption fee for Kelly is $300.Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.May 5, 2024, 8:12 am

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Tucker is a frisky collie 10 mth puppy who has recently arrived at his foster mom’s after having been neutered.  He is enjoying romping with her cats and dogs. Because he is still recuperating, he isn’t allowed to make use of the backyard yet or play too actively. However, he has shown that he enjoys snuggling on the couch and watching what everyone is doing inside.   Tucker has exhibited a tendency to bolt when he is startled. Loud noises have bothered him. His foster mom has had to stay alert just in case something scares him. He is currently on medication to treat his anxiety. If his foster mom crates him when she leaves the house, he does fine. However, he apparently thinks he shouldn’t be crated if she’s home and shows this by protesting with barks if she tries to crate him overnight.    Tucker loves to play with his squeaky toys. He seems to be equally motivated by both treats and play.  He also equally loves both dogs and people. It sounds like Tucker is quite playful and hopefully will overcome some of his anxiety with time, love and stability in his forever home.  The adoption fee for Tucker is $450Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.May 5, 2024, 8:12 am
