Story
* 4 Little Paws is helping a Texas Animal Shelter by featuring a few wonderful dogs patiently waiting to find forever homes! Meet Finnick! This adorably unique pup could easily be mistaken for a fennec fox with her oversized ears, petite stature, and playful personality. With ears as big as her heart and personality, Finnick is always ready for fun and adventure! Her ears definitely grab your attention and warm your heart, but they’re just the beginning of what makes her so lovable. She’s always eager to explore and never says no to hopping into a new adventure! Whether it’s a simple car ride, a visit to a dog-friendly establishment, a hike, or assisting you with yard work, she’s grateful for every moment she gets to spend with you. When it’s time for an outing her joy becomes contagious and you can’t help but laugh as she hops around in excitement, doing her happy dance. Finnick’s favorite adventures involve water, whether it’s a river, lake, pond, or kiddie pool. Having another dog to play, splash, and simply goof off with makes for the best water adventures! Despite her love of exploring, she’s never one to wander off. Finnick quickly learns her boundaries and prefers to stay close to her people. Though she’s full of spunky, curious energy and ready to explore the world at any given moment, Finnick also treasures her downtime. She makes snuggling just as fun as playtime, melting your heart as she nuzzles her way into your arms for hugs and kisses. As she gazes up at you with eyes full of unconditional love, you can’t resist giving in to her demands for cuddles! Finnick is a smart young lady with a desire to learn and please. She already has a strong foundation of good manners, making her an easy fit for any home. She knows how to sit, walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and is quick to potty train. Plus, she sleeps peacefully through the night in a crate! Finnick is a possible Corgi/Lab mix that is 11 months old and weighs 40 pounds. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm-negative, and up to date on all vaccines including monthly heartworm prevention! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Jasmine (born: 3/20/2012) is 10 years old and 22 pounds. We were told that her parents were a Collie and a Chihuahua, but we think she looks like a Corgi / Sheltie mix. We call Jasmine the Elizabeth Taylor of dogs, because she is like a glamorous, iconic, movie star – very discerning about who she makes friends with. If you are gentle and let her warm up to you, you will pass the test and Jasmine will absolutely adore you! Jasmine loves to be admired, brushed, being with you, she enjoys her walks and is housebroken. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. Once a completed application is received, the HSNY Adoption Team will review it and we will contact you if we are going to take next steps. FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. If you'd like to sponsor Jasmine, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you! For additional information on the Humane Society of New York, please visit: humanesocietyny.org. Thank you!

Story
5 years, 30lbs, Corgi/Terrier Mix, Neutered - Low Rider (Super cute short legs)  Is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Thier Foster Parent Says: "Reading is such a good boy. He has very regimented mornings that begin around 6:30am when he likes to take 10 steps outside, pee, and come right back in for breakfast. Once he's done eating, he likes to go promptly back to bed until 10am or so. From there Otis enjoys a few short potty breaks throughout the day followed by his longer walk in the evening. He loves to lay on the couch next to me or on his bed by my desk while I work, occasionally asking for pets or for me to play tug of war. Reading can destroy even the most "indestructible" toys in just a few hours, but knows to never chew things that don't belong to him. Reading unfortunately suffers from separation anxiety from being passed around from home to home. I feel strongly that once he's in a permanent home with a patient, loving person for a few months that this will certainly work itself out. In the meantime, Reading tags along with me for most outings. He's a great companion to run errands with, is always polite at restaurants and bars and is an absolute pro in the subway and cabs!" Level of dog ownership experience needed: INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy Level  MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Cuddle Bug LevelHigh — Wants to be in your lap pretty much all the timePotty TrainedYes — Few or no accidentsComfy with strangers?Yep — Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, super social butterfly, loves anyone who will stop to say hello.Good with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision)Yes for 12 and up — may be a little energetic or a little skittish, best with older children that can be extra gentle or that are big enough not to get accidentally knocked downCan be a little mouthy when he plays or gets excited, but very gently!Good with Other Dogs?Mostly — Generally good with other dogs but may be picky (scared of big dogs or plays too rough for small dogs, for example)Good with Other Animals? (cats, small pets, etc.)Sort of — Seems to chase squirrels and birds and comes on a little strong so probably not a good match for a home with cats, rabbits, etc.Doing much better with the resident cat, but overall would do better without I think. He gets easily startled and his instinc is to engage instead of ignore. Mouthy Behavior?Low – Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in its mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime, doesn’t wreck your stuff — only chews on appropriate things like dog toys and bones.LOVES chewing on toys, but is respectful of things that aren't his.Leash Manners?Old Pro – Seems like a dog that has been on leash before. Doesn’t pull hard or need much direction.Okay in the city?Yes — Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, they may as well have been born here.Great on public transit and in cars too!Jumping on People to Say Hi?Low – Doesn’t jump up on people or dogs. Always all four on the floor.Separation Anxiety?Higher – Reading does have seperation anxiety he does well when he has time to settle into a home. The best thing for him would be to have a forever home as transitioning from home to home doesn't help.  Crate training?Yep/mostly – Seems comfortable in the crate, may whine a little at first but settles pretty quickly. We use the crate when we leave the pup alone and/or at night. He likes to hang out in the crate sometimes for a nap and we feed all meals in the crate. We leave him in there to keep him from destroying things/hurting himself/the cat when we leave but I think ideally he would be in a home that could work through his separation anxiety and could leave him without a crate as I think it might make things worse for him.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
ICHABOD - 4 years, 16lbs, Corgi Mix, Neutered  This dog is joining Social Tees on 10/05 and is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program starting that day. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup Energy level MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained? Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs? Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision) We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Okay in the city? We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs. Thomas. Story
❗Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Mango :) She was rescued from a high-kill city shelter and was about to be euthanized. However, due to her refusal to be touched by strangers, she underwent a lengthy training program with her foster family and is now doing very well. If you give her enough time and unconditional love, he will become your best friend. • Affinity with -Cats: She is currently doing well with the cats in her temporary home. She is not aggressive towards cats and ignores them. -Dogs: She is currently getting along well with the dogs in her foster home. They usually play well together, but there are times when she is shy. -Adults/Kids: She is shy with people, and is good with people she knows well (she gets treats), but is very cautious with touch. Sudden touch from strangers (adults & kids) can cause her to act defensive (she hasn't bitten yet but acts like she will, or she pees when picked up and held suddenly, or she jumps away), but she will sniff and recognize when approached cautiously. • Shedding: Usually, her coat will increase when winter comes. The fur gets stuck to the fabric rather than shedding. • Walking Manner: She loves to go for walks, in both familiar and new places. Sometimes hesitates to go for a walk in crowded places (but does well in moderate crowds). • Housetrained: She's housebroken and doesn't cause too many problems, but she still chews on wood and plastic items. She goes potty on her pee pad, but much prefers to do her business outdoors. When outdoors, he relieves himself on dirt or grass. • Bathing/Brushing: She takes baths well (though not her favorite). She also likes to be brushed. • Separation Anxiety: She has always lived with other dogs but has no problem when her foster family goes out of town. • Bark or Howl: She barks when she hears strangers outside. She barks when strangers come to visit, but there's no aggression - she doesn't howl. • Carsickness: She gets nervous when riding in the car, so she can get car sick when traveling for long periods. She tolerates it well for about 30 minutes. • Her favorite things are a set routine, family, walks, playing in the park, and her favorite treats (tridles, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, chicken, beef, duck, etc.) • Personality: She is a little timid, cautious, gentle, and good-natured. She loves going for walks with her family, spending time at her favorite park, and just being at home with her family. She also loves walks, parks, and hikes, and at home, she's happy to be in her own space (fluffy or crate) or sit quietly by her family's side.

Story
❗Current location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Henry👋 an endearing handsome boy with cute unbalanced ears! Henry was found alone on a street in S. Korea at four months old in July 2021 and taken to a high-risk city shelter. Fortunately, having been rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team, he lived in a crowded private shelter with numerous dogs until July 2023, when he found a foster home. His loving foster family has been taking good care of him since. Henry has learned a lot about how to love and be loved by his people. He is full of charm and can’t wait to show it to his forever family! • Personality: Calm, Curious, Adorable Henry is a calm and independent pup with a strong curiosity! All he needs in the beginning is enough time for him to get himself accustomed to the new environment. He is not a big cuddler, but you can see some of his lovely sides once he warms up to you💕 First of all, his unbalanced ears are absolutely something to adore about him! His energy level is medium-low. He is mostly chill and spends most of his time at home resting. He only gets excited and active when having a walk outside. He is neither a barker nor a destroyer! • Affinity with - Dogs: Generally good with other dogs. He wants to say hi to other dogs on a walk, though he prefers calm friends and tries to ignore barking/hyper dogs. - Cats: No aggression but just excitement & curiosity. - Adults/Kids: Good with adults except loud/aggressive male adults. / He just tries to avoid kids when they approach. • Walking Manners: Well-mannered, pacing with his people without pulling the leash. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, mainly going potty outdoors but he knows how to use pee-pads indoors when necessary. • Bathing/Brushing: Very good and calm • Car Sickness: in training • Separation Anxiety: None. • Barks/Howls: Almost none. Just a little bit when strangers come inside the house. • Appetite/Food Allergies: No allergies. • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Likes/Dislikes: Henry loves being petted, going for walks, and meat! / He doesn’t like big gestures and sudden loud noise, though he is not sensitive to usual residential noise. If you have an open heart and a loving home for Henry, please don't hesitate to apply!

Meet Happy💜 Happy lived neglected within a fenced area of junkyard. The person who reported Happy to us was feeding Happy for a year and when the junkyard went bankrupt, the owner left and abandoned Happy. Please be Happy’s miracle and become his forever family. 🙏🏻 * He has a Jindo face with short legs just like a corgi. He is adorable and sunny. 🥰 * He's wary at first, but once he opens up, he is sweet and asks for pets. 😊 * Not very interested in the other dog friends at ADOGS Center! He only takes his own treats and doesn’t pay much attention to other dogs. He does well all around! * He has a good appetite and eats very fast. He needs help with eating slowly because he might choke and cough when he eats too fast. * He does not bark when other dogs bark 👍🏻

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ Meet Victor🩷 Victor was discovered in a field of pebbles, tied with an ill-fitted collar and rescued by a Adogs volunteer. When she was rescued, she appeared terrified, surrounded by rotting food that had accumulated over time. However, she was rapidly turned around and showed signs of relief and tail-wagging as she warmed up. Is doing well with the foster family who is giving lots of care and affection. * Interaction with People : Absolutely loves people! Is a bit wary of strangers when she meets them outdoors but approaches and smells them as well as enjoys petting. Is so fond of being touched that she immediately lies down and exposes her tummy when the foster family touches her. Is wary and barks once at the doorstep when strangers visit the home, but is fine once they come in. Displays her interest by checking the location of the guest after hiding herself.  * Interaction with Dogs: Seems not to have many happy memories with other dogs, and not to like them. Gets along well with other dogs who she encounters at the puppy kindergarten. Gets tight with her fur standing on end, assumes a defensive stance when she encounters other dogs ehile walking. Is receiving training in desensitization gradually by rapidly backing away when she encounters a dog. * Interaction with Cat: Tends to be excited, growl and chase after cats who she may encounter during walks. Caution is necessary. * Separation Anxiety: When left alone, she appears nervous. Occasionally howls or makes pee mistakes when left alone. Is getting training with space separation and is improving gradually. Is ok as long as she has at least one family member present at home.  * Potty Training: Is so smart that she can use the potty pads even in a new environment. Is adept at indoor potty but prefers going outside to do potty. * Hygiene: Likes baths and enjoys being brushed! Fears having her ears cleaned so much that she needs to wear a neck collar during the ear cleansing. Is scared of toenail clippings and much walking would help her nails trimmed naturally. * Walks: Is a super skillful walker who can walk at a controlled pace. Is a perceptive dog that walks slowly with her foster mom and runs with her foster sister. Tends to pull on the leash when other dogs, cats, or birds passes by or feels urgent calling of nature. * Car Sickness: Is good at getting into cars, but once the car starts moving, she gets slightly nervous and feels a bit car sick. Gets anxious in the car when she is away from people and wants to go up on the legs. *Shedding: There is fur shedding during the molting season. * Mastered 'Sit, Lie Down, Turn around, Paw, Wait, House, Kiss, Cool, Nose, and Come Here' – a true pro in following commands! 😎 * Rarely barks! Even when she does infrequently, she stops barking when she is told to sit. * Has a gluttony tendency and must be fed separately when with other dogs. * Occasionally nips with a hope to stay more when the foster father gets her out of his bedroom. Occasionally nips defensively with scare when he has toenail clipped.  * Comes even from a distance when you call her while slightly bending your kneels. **Health Condition** - Completed heartworm treatment. 💙 Foster's Instagram : @victor_victorydog

Story
Meet Volt⚡️ Volt has stayed in Korean City Shelter from Sept 2023. Everytime we visit the shelter, he wagged his tail strongly. He always wants people's love. But he's been waiting for his family at the shelter for about half a year. He was on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, his euthanasia this time has been postponed, but we don't know when he'll be on the list again. We ADOGS wants to rescue him right away, but we can't because of the many other dogs already at ADOGS Center. But once his family is decided, we'll rescue him from the city shelter right away, take him to the vet, and start getting ready to fly out to you. He's only 8kg small and has lovely short legs. He may have a lot to learn but he deserves to be loved!! Please be his furever family🙏 ** Will be rescued from the city shelter and get health checkup with neutering right after the adoption is decided ** * Toward People: Has a strong affinity for people! Is a lovely dog who approaches you and wags his tails to ask to be touched. * Toward Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs and exhibits gentle qualities. * Separation Anxiety: It is unknown since he is currently residing at the Center. * Potty Training: It is not known for sure since he was just rescued. * Hygiene: Usually gets bathed and brushed thoroughly. * Walks: Enjoys taking walks! Is accustomed to being on a leash, so walking won't be an issue!
