Jay is here because we decided March is Corgi month and we pulled him from a shelter! He is 1-2 years old. Housebroken and sweet! Needs a very active family! A yard is a must and would be good with dogs that are sweet. He is has typical corgi energy for this reason we prefer kids 10 and up. He needs lots of yard time and walks or hikes. For consideration please be over 26 in NY, NJ, Philadelphia or CT area only have kids 10 or over. Have a home with lots of dog runs, parks or fenced in yard. Have an visible IG account when we ask for it please. Be active for puppies no couch potatoes! Thank you. Most of all please follow step below and do not call us we are volunteers! Please note we do not adopt in the Bronx nor Staten Island. We have trainers in Brooklyn, LIC, Astoria, Manhattan, LI, NJ ,and CT 20 miles from Greenwich. Kids `10 and up. He is good with all kids but we prefer older to continue his recall training. Story
Hi there, I’m a shy girl named Kora and I appear to be a Corgi/Terrier mix but my shelter records say I’m a Chihuahua mix. I mean, this is Laredo Texas, so I’m probably part Chihuahua like most other dogs around here, LOL. I am 6 years old, weigh 28 lbs, and last year I was a very pregnant stray dog when brought to the animal shelter and then to a dog rescue just in time to have 6 gorgeous puppies who grew up to be tall and beautiful like Labrador Retrievers and not one of them looked like me or anything like a Chihuahua. I was a wonderful mama, patient and loving, and although all my puppies were very social, I am still a scardy cat. Sweet and submissive, it will take me some time to come out of my shell and ask for affection, but eventually I did with my foster mom and now I’m enjoying pets and tummy rubs, sharing kisses, playing with doggy toys, and playing with the other foster dogs. Mostly I am still a couch potato, quiet and unassuming, and my foster mom says I make the perfect TV companion/sleeping buddy. I am a good girl at home, calm and well-behaved with no chewing on your things or digging in the yard, only bark to alert you to something important, and I do not guard my food or my toys. I do not have separation anxiety and am perfectly fine when home alone or with a doggy companion. I am good in a crate and completely housebroken and will use a doggy door to potty outside and I also know how to use a potty pad. I do not mind going for a ride in the car, but the leash is another story. I am nervous about being picked up and when my harness is on and a leash attached, I will usually lay down with my legs spread out like a bearskin rug and refuse to walk. I am working on this but I’m taking it slow, in baby steps, learning to build some confidence. I have come a long way since I was first found, and I’m ready enough to take that final step, leave my foster home in Texas, and find a real forever home somewhere in or near Connecticut. * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Jasmine (born: 3/20/2012) is 10 years old and 22 pounds. We were told that her parents were a Collie and a Chihuahua, but we think she looks like a Corgi / Sheltie mix. We call Jasmine the Elizabeth Taylor of dogs, because she is like a glamorous, iconic, movie star – very discerning about who she makes friends with. If you are gentle and let her warm up to you, you will pass the test and Jasmine will absolutely adore you! Jasmine loves to be admired, brushed, being with you, she enjoys her walks and is housebroken. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. Once a completed application is received, the HSNY Adoption Team will review it and we will contact you if we are going to take next steps. FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. If you'd like to sponsor Jasmine, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you! For additional information on the Humane Society of New York, please visit: humanesocietyny.org. Thank you!

Story
21 lbs, 2 years, Corgi mix, Spayed Female Want to adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Their Foster Parent Says: "Pom is such a special girl! She's super low maintenance and self-sufficient—no accidents in the house, has no problem being left alone, very quiet, great on a leash, and gets along with every dog and human she's interacted with. It seems like she hasn't had consistent access to food, so she likes to eat in private. She also doesn't seem used to attention from people, so it's been really nice to watch her warm up to us and get familiar with a life full of love, walks, and treats. She almost seems a little shell shocked when we show her affection, like she can't quite believe her luck! Whoever ends up adopting Pom will be the luckiest—she's such a unique, old soul and we're so excited to continue helping her along her journey to the comfortable, happy life she deserves." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy level MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Cuddle bug level:  Lower- - Loves affection but doesn't need to be on top of you 24/7/  Potty trained? Yes - - Pom is fully potty trained  Comfy with strangers?Yes - - Fine with meeting new people but not particularly interested, kind of shy in busy social situations like a gathering or a packed day in the park. Comfortable with children? (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Yes - - Okay for a home with respectful kids aged 8 and up.  Social with other dogs?Yes - - Loves other dogs. Currently in a home with another dog and doing great with this.  Respectful of other small animals? (cats, pocket pets, etc.)Not Sure - - But we think she would be okay in a home with a cat based on her temperament  Mouthy behavior:Past this stage in her life - - Very respectful with her mouth  Leash Manners? Old Pro – Seems like a dog that has been on leash before. Doesn’t pull hard or need much direction.  Okay in the city? Yes — Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, they may as well have been born here. Jumping on People to Say Hi? Medium – Jumps up only on people the dog knows when really excited. Stops with corrections. Separation Anxiety?  Nope - does fine being left home alone  Crate training?  Not at all – Don’t even have one, I’ve puppy proofed and we free range. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though! This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc --
