Meet Joel 4-year-old | Neutered Male | Welsh Corgi Brown & White | 7.6 kg | 31 cm Rescue Story Joel was rescued in April 2025, just before his scheduled euthanasia. Thanks to timely intervention, he was given a second chance at life and is now looking for his forever home. Personality & Socialization With People: Joel is a very affectionate and friendly boy. He happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, enjoys being petted, and often rubs against them for attention. He’s known to give kisses to people he meets on walks and loves showing affection. He does well with both men and women. While he hasn’t had direct experience with children under 13, once he feels comfortable, he will happily roll over and show his belly. With Other Dogs: Joel is social and friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs, often approaching them to say hello and invite play. That said, he clearly prefers human companionship over dogs. He may set boundaries with very high-energy dogs, rough players, or dogs that try to mount him, letting them know he’s uncomfortable. He does best with dogs of similar size and energy level. With Cats: He showed little to no reaction to cats encountered outdoors. Cat testing can be arranged if needed. Energy Level For a Welsh Corgi, Joel has a calm and balanced energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and walks but settles down nicely afterward and is not overly excitable. ‍ Walks & Leash Skills Joel does tend to pull a bit on leash but generally follows his handler well. He loves to “run,” though his short legs limit his speed. He is confident even on busy streets with traffic and enjoys greeting people he meets along the way. Other Notes • No food guarding toward people or other dogs • May bark when people approach while he is in a kennel • Calm and well-behaved when crated • Currently uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty areas Health update Joel has mild hip dysplasia, but he’s currently walking normally and doing great. No surgery needed at this time Joel is a loving, people-oriented companion who will thrive in a home that enjoys gentle outdoor activity and lots of affection. Story

S'mores is a terrific dog who needs a specific, extremely dog savvy home. Yes, he's adorable but if you have never had a dog before or never worked w a dog with guarding issues before ...he is not for you. Corgis can be stubborn and difficult to begin with but this guy ..no idea where he came from. All we know he was tied to a pole by yankee stadium in 90 degree weather. When a volunteer went to get him he got aggressive. He didn't want to be touched in the foster home unless he initiated it, and he was a nightmare at the vet. He did bite. I dont blame him at all. This being said, now he loves attention. He rolls over for belly rubs at events and jumps up for attention. S'mores must have grown up with a lot of dogs because he loves dogs and he loves to play. Another dog ( meet required ) is a must. S'mores is 2 to 3 yrs old, 24 lbs As for his people, ADULT only. He needs a leader, someone who understands how to give a dog space and boundaries . You can't let him run the house or go on the sofa ( although they have cute sized dog sofas). He is a serious food guarder so put him in a separate room when he eats or crate. Just because S'mores has issues, it doesn't mean he is a bad dog. What it means is he needs a better listener!! People think "oh,if i show him a ton of love he will never bite me." No, he will think you are weak and bite you. Yes; he needs love, but you need to earn it. If you give S'mores space and time and take it slow..you will have the best dog, but you can't rush it. S'mores will run and play with his dog friends all day long, but he must have an old hip injury because after a lot of hard core play he needed crate rest for a day. You can't forget that he's still a little guy and other big dogs can jump on him and hurt him. Coco is a sweet girl who will steal your heart once she gets to know you...just look at that smile! She will take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she will be your best friend forever. Coco loves belly rubs, snuggles, playtime in the yard, playing fetch and going for walks. Coco finds city living a little too hectic, and is not suited for apartment living. Tao was found on the streets of China abandoned and wandering. One of our rescue partners thankfully found her. Tao is currently in China foster care with 5 other dogs until we can get her adopted in America. This sweet girl weighs around 33lbs, and she’s quite timid and shy. Croissant was rescued on the way to Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China where she was going to be brutally murdered for food. Our Chinese team members saved her, along with 7 other dogs from that terrible fate. Croissant is around 3 years old, 26lbs and a complete love bug. She has done amazing with all dogs, cats and people she has met in China. Croissant can be flown to LAX (los angeles) from China once adopted.
