Story
Meet Mochi (2 yrs, Neutered Male)   Breed: Welsh Corgi Mix Color: Brown / White Weight: 15 kg Height: 29 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story Mochi was rescued from a city shelter where he was scheduled for euthanasia. He is now safe and ready for his second chance at a loving home.     ‍ Human Socialization Mochi is extremely affectionate and social. He approaches both familiar people and strangers with confidence, leans in for attention, and even happily jumps into the arms of people he meets on walks.   He is comfortable with both men and women. He has not been tested with young children under 13, but he allows being lifted and will show his belly once he trusts you.     Dog Socialization Mochi greets both known and unfamiliar dogs politely and confidently. He’s more into chasing and exploring than group play, and he often prefers doing his own thing — sniffing, running around, or checking out the environment.   He gets along best with medium or larger dogs, or those similar in size to him.   Cats When encountering outdoor cats, he showed little reaction. A formal cat test can be arranged.   Energy Level As a Welsh Corgi mix, he has a naturally active personality. He loves running, exploring, and seeking human attention. As long as his energy needs and desire for engagement are understood, he is easy to manage.   Walks He pulls on the leash at times, but overall follows his handler well. He is confident even on busy streets and enjoys walks in all environments.   Other Behaviors • No resource guarding toward people or dogs • Food motivated, so mealtime supervision is helpful • Not separation-anxious, but dislikes confinement and may bark when restricted • In a kennel, he mostly whines • Currently uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty Apply to Foster or Adopt at www.adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Currently in Korea — available for adoption to Canada/US ##2595809##

Story
S'mores is a terrific dog who needs a specific, extremely dog savvy home. Yes, he's adorable but if you have never had a dog before or never worked w a dog with guarding issues before ...he is not for you. Corgis can be stubborn and difficult to begin with but this guy ..no idea where he came from. All we know he was tied to a pole by yankee stadium in 90 degree weather. When a volunteer went to get him he got aggressive. He didn't want to be touched in the foster home unless he initiated it, and he was a nightmare at the vet. He did bite. I dont blame him at all. This being said, now he loves attention. He rolls over for belly rubs at events and jumps up for attention.  S'mores must have grown up with a lot of dogs because he loves dogs and he loves to play. Another dog ( meet required ) is a must. S'mores is 2 to 3 yrs old, 24 lbs  As for his people, ADULT only.  He needs a leader, someone who understands how to give a dog space and boundaries . You can't let him run the house or go on the sofa ( although they have cute sized dog sofas). He is a serious food guarder so put him in a separate room when he eats or crate. Just because S'mores has issues, it doesn't mean he is a bad dog.  What it means is he needs a better listener!! People think "oh,if i show him a ton of love he will never bite me."  No, he will think you are weak and bite you. Yes; he needs love, but you need to earn it. If you give S'mores space and time and take it slow..you will have the best dog, but you can't rush it. S'mores will run and play with his dog friends all day long, but he must have an old hip injury because after a lot of hard core play he needed crate rest for a day. You can't forget that he's still a little guy and other big dogs can jump on him and hurt him. RECAP: Adult, experienced home...just because you have had a bunch of easy dogs doesn't mean you know anything about dogs w issues!! S'mores is loving and playful but he needs space...Good leader Willing to hire a trainer ( not one who ie abusive )PatientFenced yardDogs to play with Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##2161840##

Story
Irwin - 1 years, 28lbs, Corgi/Beagle Mix, Neutered This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  Energy levelMEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from the South or Puerto Rico ; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
Rae is currently in Korea until adopted. She was found thrown out on the streets by her original owners.... Thankfully locals contacted our Korean partners who were able to get her to safety. Rae is currently in Korean foster care with another corgi and doing great. She’s super sweet and loving despite it all. She’s also been cat tested with cats and has shown to be indifferent. All she wants and craves is affection by humans. Rae can be flown into many different international airports across America. Please visit our website to apply and to receive more information about our international dog rescue.
