Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, March 23rd unless he/she is adopted prior to the event with a set up home. The event is from 12 pm to 3 pm at Palo Alto's Pet Food Express. Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event. We no longer do application approval onsite. Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event. Adoption Fee: $650 Croissant is a 7 month old Pit Bull x Dachshund mix who came to us from the shelter. We may not know how Croissant landed in the shelter but we know this handsome and goofy dude is going to melt the heart of anyone he meets. Croissant is still growing but we expect him to be on the medium-large size when he is fully grown!    Below is a note from Croissant’s foster.  “Croissant is a loving, curious, adorable, playful, and sweet puppy. Croissant has blossomed in his time with us and loves his people more than anything in the world. The shelter told us he was so sad at the shelter he would just keep his head down when they walked by, so we have shown him all the love and he’s made such a quick turnaround! He adores his toys, especially his stuffed hippo. He loves walks and he loves our other dogs. It has been so special to see his confidence grow more and more each day. Croissant is much more mellow than a typical puppy and is a total couch potato. He’s up for a walk but he’s also up for a movie day snuggled up with his family!  Croissant wakes up around 7:30 AM and goes right outside for a potty break. He comes inside for breakfast and does the cutest little hops as he waits for his food. He is very food motivated and loves to please his people. He hangs out with us on the couch or plays with our other dog as we get ready for the day. He gets a short walk around 8 AM and he loves getting his sniffs on as he searches for the perfect stick to carry around. He gets a potty break in the afternoon and then spends his time napping and playing. He gets dinner around 5:30 PM and then another walk. In the evening, he lounges on the couch on his blanket throne and plays with his foster siblings. He goes to bed around 9:30 PM and snoozes happily through the night in his crate.  Croissant’s ideal new family will be ready to encourage and celebrate him as he gains his confidence. Croissant gets along well with our resident dogs and loves playing with them. Croissant is potty trained. Croissant is such a sweetheart and loves being cuddled. He would love a playmate in his new home but would also do well as a solo dog. This kissy lovely pup is ready to make your life complete!”   Croissant is only an option for those who have owned a dog in the past 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.March 25, 2024, 11:42 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $650   Def Leppard is a 6 month old Dachshund mix who can’t wait to book his permanent residency stop at his new home! This handsome man toured around the local shelters until we scooped him up and promised him we’d find him the best new people to serve as his backing band. What could be better than a 2-for-1 combo of a new furry best friend AND a rockstar? We don’t know, because we have Def!     Def Leppard has a true rock star persona! Nothing phases this outgoing, confident, and loving dude. He immediately makes himself at home in any new environment, showing love and affection to all he meets. He truly adores his people above all else and spends his days dreaming of fun adventures in store for him! Def would love a home who wants a forever companion to do everything with, as he is so friendly he can go just about anywhere. While he is still learning more about the outside world, he takes comfort in his people showing him the way. With that being said, Def is a couch potato at the end of a long day and would love to snuggle for a movie marathon! Def is so cute and loveable, it is impossible to resist falling in love with his big puppy dog eyes when you meet him.  Def wakes up around 7 AM for a long stretch before breakfast. After he eats, he heads outside for a walk where he sniffs and goes potty. During the day, Def hangs out inside while his foster people work. He is great at keeping himself occupied with naps, toys, snuggles, and treats. He loves scrunchy toys that make noise and delights in playing solo catch. He gets another longer walk in the afternoon and loves saying hi to his neighborhood buddies! Dinner is at 6 PM before a long snuggle session on the couch. Nothing but the best for this rockstar! After one last potty session, Def heads to his crate for bedtime at 9 PM and snoozes the night away.  Def Leppard gets along with dogs of all ages and sizes. He would do well with a canine companion as a sibling or could be a solo act. Def is working on his training and leash walking skills and would benefit from continued training lessons and socialization. For those looking for a loyal companion, you won’t find better than Def.    Def Leppard is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the past, even if that experience is less recent. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10.March 27, 2024, 2:35 pm

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700 The Pasta Puppies are a litter of 8 week old Dachshund x Yorkie mixes who are serving up cuteness and puppy kisses! The litter is 1 boy and 3 girls. These babies came to us with Mama Pasta from a hoarding situation with 12 other dogs. We arrived expecting a few adults and instead were met with puppies, Mama, and their friends. Well, we refused to leave anyone behind so these babies came with us and started their new lives! Mama was a 9 pound fluffy gal, so we expect these puppies to be in the 12-20 pound range when fully grown.     Alfredo: Alfredo (Alfie) is the snuggliest puppy of the bunch and is the first to “melt” into your lap. She weighs 7.5 pounds as of March 27. She is extremely affectionate and loves belly rubs as she gives kisses. She also loves getting her zoomies out in the yard as she races around on her little legs, chasing after her siblings as they play tug of war with their ever growing pile of toys. Alfie loves anything with a squeaker and is often found crawling under a table with a toy she has snatched from one of her littermates as she squeaks it in victory. Alfredo would love to cuddle forever with her new people!  Carbonara: Carbonara (Carb) may be little but she has no idea! She weighs 5 pounds as of March 27. This girl is a natural explorer and loves romping around the yard sniffing everything there is to encounter. Carb can hold her own against her bigger siblings and has adorable little puppy growls as she plays with toys. Carb loves to take a running start and tumble into the laps of her foster parents, pawing at their hands when they stop petting her before she decides they are done. Carbonara is usually at the bottom of the cuddle pile but is happy to shake off her siblings when she decides the time for rest is over. She loves all things nature, from leaves and sticks to grass and critters. Carbonara will make any home tastier, and that is a five star promise!  Marinara: Marinara (Mary) is the leader of the pack as the largest of the litter, but she leads with a quiet confidence. She weighs 10 pounds as of March 27. She loves to play and wrestle with her siblings but also loves making them chase her across the yard. Mary loves stuffed toys and her favorite toy is a mini Lamb Chop which she will zoom around happily with until she is ready for a long nap. Mary was the most cautious at first when trying new things, but she has found that spending an afternoon curled up in the lap of her foster parent means hours of snuggles and kisses. Marinara is the most like her Mama temperament wise, and we know she is going to be a lovely addition to her forever home. Any day with Marinara promises to be a Mary one!  Pesto: Pesto may be the solo boy of the litter but he doesn’t let his sisters keep him down! He weighs 6 pounds as of March 27. This confident and charismatic dude leads the way in daily zoomies and snuggles. One minute, he is chasing his sister across the lawn and the next he is crashing into your lap for cuddles. He helped his sisters realize how amazing snuggle time is and flops on top of them when everyone is ready for a nap. Pesto is a true gentleman and gives sweet kisses to his many admirers, winning even the staunchest #TeamCat person over with his soulful eyes and wagging tail. Pesto promises that you will fall in love with him faster than you can say P(r)esto!   The puppies sleep overnight in their crate until around 7 AM when their foster parents start their day. They head straight outside to the backyard for potty and playtime before breakfast is served in their pen. Weather permitting, the puppies love to spend their morning playing outside with their toys as they zoom around. They then take a long nap in a cuddle pile until they are ready to play again. After lunch, they spend some time napping in their pen while their foster parents work. When everyone comes home, they head right back outside for more playtime. They LOVE the backyard. They have dinner at 6 PM followed by romping and playtime in the kitchen. They spend the evening snuggling on the couch watching TV and getting kisses until they go to bed at 10 PM.  The puppies live with a large breed dog and a cat and do well with all animals. They will need continued socialization and training to ensure they are confident and curious adults. They are quintessential puppies in that they are playful when awake and loungey when ready for naps. They would love a yard and a companion in their new home but could thrive in any environment as long as they have love and affirmation! The Pasta puppies promise to provide a culinary adventure for the homes that adopt them!    Interested homes must have owned a dog in the last 5 years. We will be prioritizing homes who currently own dogs. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.March 27, 2024, 2:35 pm
