She currently weighs about 15 lbs and is expected to be a perfectly medium-sized companion (albeit on some relatively short legs!). She came to her foster home and has quickly blossomed into one of the most well-mannered, loving pups.   Personality Skedaddle arrived from the shelter shy and cautious, but within a week she was coming when called, accepting pets, and giving kisses, and she grows more confident every day. She is a snuggler who climbs into any lap and makes her rounds to say hi to each family member individually. She greets guests with a polite sniff and likes to set the pace herself, which makes it all the sweeter when she chooses you.   Her most endearing quirk? She is a collector. Shoes and clothes left on the floor get quietly gathered into a cozy little nest — she never chews them, just keeps them close. Once you witness it, you will understand why she already has the whole household wrapped around her paw. (They've fostered hundreds of dogs, and she's one of the only ones they've been tempted to hold onto!)   Daily Life Skedaddle thrives on routine and is a dream for anyone who loves a relaxed pace. She rises at 7am with the kids for school, uses the dog door, eats breakfast, and says good morning to the cats. During the day she follows her foster mom around or sunbathes on the patio with a chew toy. She is fully trustworthy home alone — no destruction, just napping and collecting. Afternoons bring backyard play with the kids, dinner at 6pm, an evening playdate with the 75 lb neighbor dog, and bedtime snuggles before settling into her own dog bed by 10pm. She sleeps straight through every night. On weekends she can be found sleeping in with the teens.   Kids, Dogs & Cats Skedaddle lives happily with kids ages 8-15. With new dogs she observes quietly at first, then arrives at the second meeting ready to play. With the two resident cats she is calm and respectful — just the occasional curious sniff. No chasing, no drama.   Energy & Training Skedaddle is medium energy — happy to play when invited, equally content lounging in a sunny spot. She just finished her puppy vaccines and started working on learning leash walking around the house. She picks up routines quickly, so walks are coming soon. She does not bark, does not dig, and has been fully house-trained from day one using a dog door.   Why Skedaddle? A puppy who is house-trained, calm, non-destructive, non-barking, sleeps through the night, and gets along with kids, dogs, and cats? That is not just a dog — that is a unicorn. Skedaddle simply needs a little patience while she learns to trust, and once she does, she will love every single person in your family equally and with her whole heart.    March 12, 2026, 11:18 am

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $650 If you’re looking for a puppy who can win over absolutely everyone he meets, Vamoose is ready to dash right into your heart!   Vamoose is a 4–5 month old, approximately 14-pound Dachshund/ACD mix who was rescued from the shelter along with his sister, Skedaddle. While his sister inherited the classic ACD speckles, Vamoose went a different direction genetically and instead sports a long, low-rider Dachshund body that makes him especially adorable when he zooms around the house. His short legs don’t slow him down one bit, though— this little guy can run fast, bounce around with the best of them, and even surprise you with his impressive jumping skills.   From the moment he arrived in foster care, Vamoose has been winning hearts everywhere he goes. He was an absolute model during his intake photo shoot and has continued to charm every human and dog he meets. He’s known as the happy, playful, affectionate puppy who makes friends instantly.   Vamoose lives with two resident dogs who each weigh about 55 pounds, and he absolutely loves them. His favorite playmate is Daisy (formerly a DPS dog named Ginkgo), and the two of them spend plenty of time chasing each other around the yard and playing tug-of-war with toys. He’s also met about ten other dogs of all sizes and has done wonderfully with every single one. He’s confident, social, and comfortable around other pups.   A typical day for Vamoose starts around 7:00 a.m., followed by breakfast at 7:45. After eating, he usually burns off some energy playing with the resident dogs before settling in for a nap. Lunch comes around noon, followed by more playtime and another nap. Dinner is served at 5:45 p.m., and the evening includes more playing, relaxing, and some quality couch snuggle time with his people around 8:00 p.m. Before bedtime, he heads outside around 9:30 for a potty break and a little final run around the yard before settling in for the night around 10:00.   During the day, Vamoose has the run of the house and a yard door that’s often open so he can wander in and out. When he’s ready for a break, he often heads to the bedroom where he likes to curl up on an ottoman or stretch out on the big dog beds that belong to the resident pups. At night, he sleeps in bed with his foster family, which is exactly where he prefers to be. He generally sleeps through the night and only occasionally stirs.   One of the things that stands out most about Vamoose is his affectionate nature. He is a world-class snuggler who loves to be close to his people and will happily rest his head on your shoulder while you hold him. He’s playful, curious, smart, and very eager to be part of whatever is going on. He’s great with people of all ages and has spent time around teenagers, who he adores.   Like any young puppy, he’s also starting to discover his mischievous side. Shoes and slippers are especially fascinating to him, so his foster family recommends keeping those tucked away. He loves toys and has a habit of gathering them and spreading them throughout the house. He’s also teething, which means he occasionally nibbles hands and arms in that classic puppy way. Supervision and plenty of appropriate chew toys will help guide him through this phase.   Vamoose is about 95% housetrained and has been very impressive for such a young puppy. His foster family takes him outside regularly, and he has even gone out on his own to do his business. In fact, he can hold it longer than most puppies his age. The only quirk is that when you take him outside, you’ll need a little patience— he likes to stretch, sit, and take his time before finally deciding it’s the perfect moment to go.   He’s just beginning to learn about walking on leash now that he has finished his vaccinations, so that will be a new adventure for him and his future family. One thing he doesn’t do much of is bark— he’s generally a quiet little guy who only speaks up occasionally.   Although Vamoose can be mellow and relaxed at times, he also has plenty of puppy verve. He’ll happily zoom around the yard, chase his dog friends at full speed, pounce on toys one after another, and then suddenly flop down for cuddles as if his battery switched to “snuggle mode.” Watching him race after Daisy at top speed before rolling over and starting the game all over again is one of his foster’s favorite things.   His foster believes Vamoose could adapt to many types of homes. He’s social, adaptable, and happiest when he’s part of the fun.   What truly sets Vamoose apart is just how universally lovable he is. Every person and dog who meets him falls for him instantly. He’s smart, affectionate, playful, and incredibly endearing, with a personality that seems much bigger than his little low-rider body.   His foster family says he has been such a joy to have in their home and that they will miss him terribly. But they know that the lucky family who adopts him will quickly discover what they already know: Vamoose is one very special puppy.March 10, 2026, 4:23 pm

Story
**COURTESY REHOMING POST** Chubby is not a CACC dog. We have not met her nor evaluated her and can't attest to her health or temperament. Please use the contact information listed to reach out and learn more. Sweet Chubby needs a furever home. This little puppy has been on a long journey and is ready to settle down with someone who loves her. Shy, sweet gentle family dog, she’s looking for a patient person. She loves other dogs and would be a great addition to a family looking to add a second pup to the mix. Has lived with children, so may do well as a family dog once she's comfortable. Story
Lucky truly lives up to his name. Rescued from an orchard in rural Merced in October 2025, Lucky was just 4–5 months old and surviving with little human contact. He spent his days following an older stray dog while searching for food and crossing a busy road to a nearby store. Thankfully, a compassionate foster stepped in and changed his story. Now about 9 months old and around 20 pounds, Lucky is learning what it means to be a loved family dog. He’s likely a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix (maybe a little terrier, too!). Lucky adores other dogs and finds comfort in their companionship, so his ideal home will have at least one friendly canine buddy. Lucky is sweet, gentle, and quiet—there isn’t an aggressive bone in his body. He walks nicely on a leash, rides calmly in the car, sleeps through the night in his crate, and is mostly housetrained. His favorite things include playing with his foster siblings, going for walks, snacks, and long naps after playtime. Lucky is ready for a patient, loving home that will give him time to continue building trust. After his rough start, he truly deserves a wonderful life. Lucky is currently being fostered in Livingston, Merced County, but can be shown in bay area. If you’re interested in adopting, please apply at 1luckydogrescue.org or email Nancy at nancymoore016@gmail.com and tell us about the home you’d offer Lucky. 🐶💕

Story
Chargin Chuck might be a bit of a misnomer, as this distinguished gentleman is always fully charged and ready to roll! He’s a dachshund/beagle mix with big big energy who is looking for an active forever home that will keep him feeling young on many adventures. If you want a senior pup to accompany you on long walks or more active excursions, Chargin Chuck is the mutt for you. In fact, his constant wiggling and positive energy will work as a battery to supercharge you. Chargin Chuck is a bigger energy boost than three cups of caffeine – if you are still looking to keep your New Year’s resolution to be more active, Chuck would be a great motivator! Here's some notes from his foster: Chuck is a social guy who enjoys meeting people and soaking up attention. He’s a cuddly companion who loves being close to his humans and will happily keep you in sight while you’re at home. He’s comfortable with the resident dog in his foster home and generally isn’t bothered by other dogs when out on walks. Like many dogs adjusting to a new environment, Chuck is still working on a few things. He sometimes vocalizes for attention and can get a little nervous when left alone, but he’s already making great progress in his foster home. He’s potty trained. Chuck has had a few uneasy interactions with some male dogs in the past, so thoughtful introductions are recommended. With patience, love, and consistency, Chuck will make a loyal and affectionate companion.
