Story
Please welcome the truly gorgeous Gabby! This pretty girl is 3 years old and a magical mix of dog breeds that makes her one of the most unique pups you'll ever see. She was originally rescued in the pouring rain, and once cleaned up, fed, and vetted, her sweet personality shone through. Weighing 49 lbs,Gabby is very loving and adores all people, including kids, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. While she is happy to coexist with other pets, she would also flourish as the center of attention in her forever home! She is curious and eager to please her foster, though she can be cautious when meeting new people until she warms up.Gabby is already reliably crate trained and is making great progress with her leash manners. She would be a perfect companion for someone looking for a sweet, engaged, gentle, and playful pup who is past the problem puppy stage—a dog you can snuggle, walk, and who will make you feel like the best dog parent ever. All our dogs come spayed and fully vetted.Gabby is currently being fostered in Ukiah, CA ##1943484##

Story
George is an 8-year-old, 12-pound chi/dachshund mix with a sweet personality and a very smart little mind. He figured out the doggie door in just two days and now happily lets himself out to soak up the sunshine whenever the mood strikes. George loves being outside and gets very excited when it’s time for a walk - he’s still working on not wrapping his leash around his human’s legs, but he’s trying! George is friendly and his tail is almost always wagging. He enjoys meeting new people, especially once he’s had a chance to sniff you first and make sure you meet his standards. He loves other dogs and fits right in with his foster brother and sister, so he would likely enjoy a home with another canine companion. George has been noted to have some arthritic back issues, but so far his foster mom hasn’t seen any limitations other than stairs. He runs, plays with his foster brother, walks comfortably, and was even caught jumping off the couch when his foster mom came home. A one-story house with minimal stairs is highly recommended for George due to his back issues. Presently, George is being fostered in a one story home with minimal stairs and he does very well. His back isn't slowing him down. Going up and down stairs in a multi-level home, continually, will aggravate his sensitive back and it could present a bigger issue as time goes on. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you unconditionally, George might just be your perfect man.

Check our website after the event for available dogs. All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption fee: $650 If you’re looking for a dog who believes personal space is optional, allow us to introduce Muffler Man. His favorite place in the world isn’t a dog bed, a couch, or even the backyard—it’s curled up directly against your neck like the world’s cutest living scarf.   At just 3-4 months old and about 15 pounds, Muffler Man is a sweet, sensitive little guy who came to rescue with his brother Stovepipe after the pair found themselves scared and overwhelmed in a shelter. Thankfully, they got their second chance, and Muffler Man has been steadily discovering that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.   From Shaky Shelter Pup to Playful Best Friend   When Muffler Man first arrived in foster care, he was terrified. He shook constantly, barely moved, and wasn't sure who he could trust. Fast forward a few weeks, and you’ll find him zooming around the yard with his four canine foster siblings, soaking up sunshine, and asking for cuddles whenever he gets the chance.   He can still be timid when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, and he isn't quite convinced that being picked up is a wonderful idea. But every day he grows a little braver. Once he decides you're part of his trusted circle, his affectionate personality shines through.   A Day in the Life of Muffler Man   Muffler Man starts his day around 8:30 AM with a potty break and breakfast. After fueling up, it's time for a morning play session with his dog friends before settling in for what may be one of his favorite activities: couch cuddling.   Throughout the day, he balances playtime with plenty of lounging. He enjoys hanging out in the yard while his foster mom works, soaking up the sun and watching the world go by. After lunch, there’s more playtime, more snuggles, and more opportunities to perfect the art of being adorable.   Evenings are spent relaxing nearby while dinner is prepared, followed by his own dinner at 8 PM. After a final round of TV-time cuddles and quality couch lounging, he heads out for one last potty break before curling up in bed—preferably as close to his human as physically possible.   Professional Cuddler, Amateur Explorer   Muffler Man has mastered the rare balance of being both playful and cuddly. He loves wrestling and romping with other dogs, but he’s equally happy spending hours curled up beside his favorite person.   He’s very much a companion dog who enjoys following his humans from room to room. If you move, chances are Muffler Man will move too. He wants to know what you're doing, where you're going, and whether there might be cuddles involved.   His foster family’s favorite thing about him? At bedtime, he snuggles right into the crook of your neck and falls asleep as close as possible. It’s impossible not to feel loved when Muffler Man decides you're his person.   Dog Friends Welcome   Having other dogs around has made a huge difference for Muffler Man. He currently lives with four small dogs and absolutely loves having canine companions to learn from and play with. Watching confident dogs has helped him gain confidence of his own.   He also lives with a cat and doesn't seem particularly interested in feline drama. As far as he's concerned, the cat exists and that's perfectly fine.   He hasn't been tested with children, but because he can be nervous and skittish, older, respectful kids or teenagers would likely be the best fit.   Training and Puppy Progress   Muffler Man is still a baby, so he's very much a work in progress. He's not crate trained, but he does fine when left home with the resident dogs and happily spends his time lounging on the couch. At night, he sleeps in bed with his foster family.   As a growing puppy, he's currently teething and enjoys chewing appropriate bones. He occasionally investigates planter beds and backyard treasures but isn't much of a digger.   When strangers arrive or when someone comes home, he may bark at first because he's unsure. Give him a moment to process what's happening, and his sweet personality quickly returns.   Looking for a Patient, Loving Home   Muffler Man's ideal home is one that understands that trust takes time. He doesn't need perfection—he needs patience, kindness, and people willing to let him move at his own pace.   A home with another friendly dog would be a huge bonus, as canine companionship has helped him blossom tremendously. While he can certainly adapt to different lifestyles, he'll thrive with adopters who enjoy having a loyal little shadow nearby and don't mind sharing their bed with a puppy who thinks cuddling is an Olympic sport.   Why You'll Love Muffler Man   Muffler Man is one of those dogs whose personality unfolds like a gift. Beneath the initial shyness is a goofy, loving, quirky puppy who wants nothing more than to feel safe, loved, and included.   If you already have a playful dog looking for a best friend—or if you're searching for a sweet puppy who will reward your patience with endless affection—Muffler Man just might be your perfect match.June 9, 2026, 12:28 am

These puppies somehow arrived at a shelter in one.   Yes, really.   The Grocery Store Puppies got their adorable market-themed names after being dropped off at a shelter inside a Grocery Outlet bag. Thankfully, their story gets much better from there. DPS scooped them up, and now these five lucky puppies are safe, thriving, and searching for forever homes of their own.   At 9-10 weeks old, these Dachshund mixes (maybe some Beagle in there? Pug?) are as cute as they come. Four of the puppies sport gorgeous light brindle coats that make them look like tiny designer dogs. Then there's Mollie Stone, who appears to have missed the family memo entirely and instead looks like a teeny-tiny pocket Chihuahua (and as the smallest of the group, she's also the spunkiest!). Their parents' identities may remain one of life's great mysteries, but one thing is certain: every single one of them is ridiculously adorable.   Aisle One: Food Lovers   The Grocery Puppies start their mornings between 8:00 and 9:00 AM ready to tackle the important business of being puppies.   The moment they wake up, the wrestling matches begin. Followed by zoomies. Followed by toy theft. Followed by more wrestling.   Breakfast is served around 9:00 AM, lunch between 1:00 and 2:00 PM, and dinner around 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Every puppy comes running the instant food appears because this litter firmly believes that every meal could be the greatest meal of all time.   Between meals, they squeeze in plenty of naps, usually piled together in an adorable puppy heap before waking up refreshed and ready for their next adventure.   Mollie Stone: The Chaos Coordinator   If there's trouble to be found, Mollie Stone has probably already discovered it.   This spirited pint sized little girl is fearless, adventurous, and always looking for something exciting to do. She's often the first puppy to grab a toy, initiate a wrestling match, or investigate an area that may or may not have been intended for puppy exploration.   Mollie has a huge personality packed into a tiny body. She's confident, hilarious, endlessly entertaining, and guaranteed to keep her future family laughing. Life with Mollie Stone will never be boring.   Piggly Wiggly: The Sweetheart Special   Piggly Wiggly is the gentle soul of the family.   She's the most thoughtful and cautious of the bunch, preferring to watch new situations unfold before deciding to join in. Once she's comfortable, however, her affectionate side shines brightly.   This sweet little girl loves cuddling with her people and siblings and has the kind of soft, loving personality that makes you want to scoop her up and carry her everywhere. Piggly Wiggly is the perfect puppy for someone who wants to build a close bond with a tender-hearted companion.   Publix: The Explorer   Publix is confident, curious, and adventurous. He's usually the first puppy to investigate a new toy, explore a new room, or figure out what's happening on the other side of a gate. He approaches life with enthusiasm and confidence and seems convinced that every day should contain at least one exciting discovery.   His playful, outgoing personality makes him the kind of puppy who's always ready for the next adventure.   99 Ranch: Professional Cuddle Consultant   99 Ranch has two great loves in life: food and affection.   This sweet boy absolutely melts when someone rubs his belly or showers him with attention. While he enjoys wrestling and playing with his siblings, his true talent is convincing humans to stop what they're doing and snuggle him.   He's affectionate, loving, and impossible not to adore. Add in his enthusiasm for mealtime and you've got a puppy who has all the ingredients for becoming someone's very best friend.   Nob Hill: The Total Package   Nob Hill somehow manages to combine playful puppy antics with expert-level snuggling.   He's always happy to join a game of chase, wrestle with his siblings, or carry toys around proudly. But the moment someone sits down, he's equally happy to abandon his important puppy business in favor of belly rubs and cuddles.   His goofy, affectionate personality makes him instantly lovable. As long as he has people, toys, and snacks nearby, Nob Hill considers life pretty much perfect.   Freshly Stocked and Ready for Adoption   Like all puppies, the Grocery Store Puppies are still learning about the world. They are playful, social, food-motivated, affectionate, and wonderfully adaptable. They love people, adore toys, and spend their days alternating between full-speed puppy chaos and heart-melting cuddle sessions.   While they currently enjoy the company of their siblings, each puppy is looking for their own forever family where they can continue growing into a confident, well-adjusted adult dog.   Whether you're looking for an adventurous explorer, a professional cuddler, a fearless comedian, or a gentle sweetheart, there's a Grocery Store Puppy ready to fill your cart.   And unlike most impulse purchases at the checkout line, this is one decision you'll never regret.June 9, 2026, 12:28 am
