But if you’re patient and kind, you’ll see Kirby’s walls slowly come down—and that’s when the magic happens.Once he feels secure, Kirby shows his true self: sweet, loyal, and full of quiet affection. He has a heart of gold and will be the kind of companion who forms a deep bond with his person.Kirby would do best in a calm, predictable home with someone who can give him the space and encouragement he needs to blossom. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in earning the trust of a shy pup, Kirby may be your perfect match.Give Kirby the chance he deserves—you’ll be rewarded with a love like no other.

Story
Tikka is a 5-year-old female dachshund with a heart of pure gold. She may be deaf, but don’t let that fool you—she has an incredible way of tuning into love. Tikka is a total sweetheart who thrives on affection and will happily soak up all the pets, cuddles, and cozy time you have to offer. She’s calm, gentle, and just wants to be near her people. She’s perfect for someone who’s ready to open their heart to a pup who gives so much in return. Because she’s deaf, Tikka would do best in a patient, loving home that understands her needs and is willing to communicate with her through touch, routine, and lots of love. She doesn’t need to hear to know she’s safe and cherished—she just feels it.If you`re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will melt into your arms and be your little shadow, Tikka is your girl. He gets along wonderfully with all dogs and is fully potty trained. Keeping him out of the kitchen—he’s always hoping for a snack! 🐶❤️

Say hello to Ginny! This 13-pound, 11 month old Dachshund mix is equal parts gentle soul and playful sprite. She’s quiet, affectionate, and happiest when she’s got a best friend — canine or human — to lean on (sometimes literally).   Ginny is wonderful with other dogs and can be left home with them like a total pro: no barking, no pacing, just calm cuddles and a solid nap schedule. No dog? Then she’ll need her person nearby — she’s not one to lounge solo while you go live your life. Ginny is either your loyal sidekick or your dog’s #1 fan. Either way, she just wants company and a little kindness.   Potty-wise, she’s housetrained and has excellent manners on a schedule. She’ll use pee pads if needed, and she’s crate-trained, though she much prefers the couch. (She’s got strong opinions on cushions — soft is better.) She sleeps through the night like a dream and is super respectful in the home.   Now, Ginny didn’t always have it easy — she was hit by a car before coming into rescue (rude, we know), but she’s recovered beautifully after surgery. These days, she’s back to bouncing, sniffing, and making the most of her second chance, with zero limitations and plenty of tail wags.   She can be shy with new people but is never reactive — just a quiet little lady who observes first, trusts second, and loves deeply once she knows you’re hers. She’s lived with calm, respectful kids and does well with gentle energy. Loud chaos? Not her jam. Slow and sweet wins the race with this girl.   Ginny’s vibe is part sunbather, part couch potato, and part under-the-table treat detector. She’s low-drama, low-maintenance (besides needing a buddy), and full of warmth.   So if you’ve got a dog looking for a loyal fan, or you work from home and want a tiny coworker who never takes your snacks, Ginny’s your girl. She’s all in — just as long as you are too.    April 24, 2025, 3:48 am

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $650   Foxy is a 6 year old Dachshund who is ready to sneak her way into your arms and never let you go! Foxy was originally rescued from the meat markets of Korea by our amazing international rescue partner. One flight across the Pacific Ocean later and this gorgeous 17 pound girl landed in our arms and broke hearts across America!      Foxy is a sweet and loving girl who adores her humans more than anything. She loves spending her days lounging on a warm lap or snuggling between her humans on the couch. She loves giving kisses and always rolls on her back for belly rubs. She loves stuffed toys and is obsessed with toys that squeak, especially when someone tosses them for her. Foxy, like many Dachshunds, loves to stay alert to the world outside her door and will always keep you up to date on what's happening in the neighborhood. She has a very sassy personality and lets you know exactly how she is feeling, down to when she decides to plop down on the sidewalk for you to carry her home. Foxy is a total couch potato and she would love to find a home where she is treated like a Queen. She has her playful bursts but she would be just as happy cuddled next to you on the couch. Foxy would be perfect for an adult-only home where she can get her cuddles. She would be an amazing WFH companion. Foxy is ready to show you all her amazing love and personality and she is excited to meet you!  Foxy starts her morning at 7 AM with a trip outside to potty followed by another burrow under the covers until she is officially ready to start her day. She rolls out of bed for the second time around 11 AM and eats her brunch before going on her afternoon walk. She loves to spend her afternoons in the backyard, soaking up the warm sun or sniffing around the yard to make sure she hasn’t missed any good smells. Later in the day, she goes out on another romp before she enjoys her dinner. Her evenings are spent with her humans, curled up on the couch until she migrates to the human’s bed, where she spends the rest of her REM. Foxy has lived with an older dog and they get along well, as they are both low energy cuddly dogs. She adores adults and is a total super star when she meets her fans in public. She is okay with older kids who are gentle and respectful. She would benefit from some increased activity to keep her joints relaxed. We know this girl deserves the entire world and we can’t wait for her to find her people!      Foxy is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the past. May 16, 2025, 1:13 pm
