Story
Meet Remy, the easy-going dachshund mix with a personality far greater than his little size! This goofy guy is all about people- he'll shower you with love, snuggles, and tail wags the moment you walk through the door. His ideal lifestyle involves lounging around the house and enjoying snacks with his people- maybe with a couple short, leisurely walks to begin and end the day. Remy's enthusiasm for human company is unmatched, and he's always up for a cuddle or a play session. He spent a brief time time in a foster home with a cat, with whom he displayed very good manners. However, when it comes to other dogs, he's a bit of a lone wolf (or should we say, a lone pup?). While he may not be the best doggy socializer, Remy makes up for it with his fun and quirky nature, keeping everyone entertained with his silly antics. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion, Remy is your guy! Primary Color: Tan Weight: 23 Age: 5yrs 0mths 4wks

Story
Meet Millie Meet Millie! Millie is an adorable 1-year-old, 7-pound Dachshund with the perfect “long and low” look, complete with extra-long, floppy ears that add to her charm. She’s a quirky, funny little girl who’s sure to steal your heart with her sweet, soulful eyes and unique personality. Millie came to us from a tough situation in the Central Valley, but she’s now safe and slowly learning to trust the world around her. While she’s still decompressing, we know she’ll make a full recovery with time, patience, and love. With the people she trusts, Millie is incredibly affectionate, snuggly, and eager to connect. She’s looking for a patient, understanding home that will give her the space and support she needs to blossom. Millie is smart, eager to please, and gaining confidence every day. With continued encouragement, she’s going to thrive and become an amazing companion. Millie currently lives with over a dozen dogs of all sizes and gets along wonderfully with them. She’s also cat-friendly and would do well with older, respectful children. While she’s still working on house and crate training, she’s making great progress and just needs someone committed to helping her along the way. Her ideal home would have a yard for her to explore and another friendly dog to be her buddy and role model. Millie is fully grown and ready to find her forever family—a family who will cherish her, celebrate her progress, and give her the loving home she’s always deserved. If you’re ready to open your heart to a sweet, resilient girl who will reward you with endless love, Millie is waiting to meet you! Story
Seven year old Frida is looking for some dog people to live with that want a really affectionate, sweet dog to join them with walks, play and cuddling. Her background is sketchy at best, but she has learned to walk reasonably well on leash, gets along with other dogs on walks, has recently welcomed a visiting dog, and loves her trips to Golden Gate Park dog run. She is still initially nervous about visitors, but one treat can create a friendship. She currently sleeps in her fosters’ bed, is crate trained and does well when left alone. She has a huge appetite that needs to be watched as she would love to be a fat girl. She is now just right at 13 lbs. She has learned quite a few commands and easily fits into household daily life. She sometimes lets you know when a strange dog is passing her house but it can be minimized, and you will usually be notified of postal deliveries. By far, Frida's favorite day is being with her humans whether on a walk, in the car, visiting a store, or wherever you happen to be. As she has spent a number of months with her foster family, she comes with an offer of free boarding if you have a vacation or weekend away that can’t include a dog or just some visits. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Frida is $300. If you are interested in adopting Frida, please complete our online adoption application at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/  . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. November 5, 2024, 10:42 pm

Story
Archie is about 12 pounds and 2 years old. He came in with a bunch of other dogs from the same house. He is shy with people but social with dogs. Given about a week time to settle, Archie has become his foster mom's absolute shadow. He will need a person/family who will be home much of the day. Another dog would be a plus! Archie loves snuggling on the couch, chasing his canine foster sister around the lawn, he’s a great eater, and mostly potty trained with only a few accidents. He’s very treat motivated and willing to learn to make his human happy! Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Archie is $300. Story
Wee Wellie (aka Wellington) didn't learn much about the bigger world in his first two years, so he starts off pretty timid and cautious about new people and new situations. But after just a few weeks in a foster home, he's a different dude. Bouncy, happy, and confident, Wellie has learned how to walk nicely on leash, is playing fetch and tug, lives for snuggles with humans, and is enjoying life!  Wellie is house trained, crate trained, and is quick to pick up new routines. He's content to curl up nearby or amuse himself with toys when his foster parents are working from home, and while he can be a bit anxious at times, he has not yet shown any signs of destructive behaviors or excess barkiness. He spends his nights in a crate by himself, very quietly and with no accidents, but he would LOVE to sleep in your bed. And he's been very respectful of his cranky senior foster sisters' lack of interest in playing with him, though he'd also LOVE another playful, confident dog to teach him the ropes.  Mr. Wellington could be a good fit for almost any home where he can get plenty of exercise, stimulation, and affection. He would thrive with a secure outdoor space to sniff and race around, and another playful dog sibling, but a family who can give him regular daily walks, puzzles, and playtime could also work well for him.  Ideally, his human siblings would be old enough to respect his tiny size and occasional timidity, and any cats would be of the confident variety, rather than ones easily terrorized by a dog who likes to chase. He's got plenty of puppy energy and goofiness, but he is tuned into his human's voice, and he loves treats, so he is ready for some positive reinforcement training! Snuggly, affectionate, and a quick learner, this guy is a treasure!  Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Wellie is $300. Story
Mochi is a sweet, 27lb and moderate energy “chiweeniebull” looking for his furever family. He was adopted from a local rescue as a family surrender (where he was originally a member of a 4 dog and 4 human household). He has been living in a single person (no other dogs) household and his adjustment has been a challenge without a pack family and mild SA, so he would thrive in a bigger family with other furry friends (esp an older sibling). He is socialized with dogs smaller and bigger than him and does well with dog intros at the park, doggy day care and with neighbors’ dogs. Day to day, Mochi loves hanging on the couch, figuring out an enrichment or food puzzle, playing with a squeaky toy or being near his human for pets and cuddles. Mochi knows basic commands, goes for morning and evening walks (30-40 mins each) and is a solid loose leash walker, highly food motivated and housetrained (he sleeps in his crate at night). Will also include: crate, harness, wet/dry food & fave toys!
