With her long-and-low good looks, enthusiastic whole-body wiggles, and larger-than-life personality, this sweet girl is impossible to resist. Choco Taco loves deeply, plays enthusiastically, and believes affection should always be served in generous portions.   Choco Taco’s Greatest Love: You   Choco Taco is a people-loving pup, especially when it comes to women. She bonded almost immediately with the women and teenage girls in her foster home and happily follows her favorite person from room to room. She loves curling up beside her humans, pressing her nose into their hands to request more pets, and dramatically flopping onto her back when she decides it is time for a belly rub. Touch is absolutely Choco Taco’s love language.   Although she was initially nervous around the foster family’s dad, patience, treats, and gentle movements quickly won her over. She now greets him at the door with a wagging tail. Choco Taco may take a little longer to trust some men, but she has shown that she can form wonderful bonds when allowed to move at her own pace.   Play Now, Snuggle Later   Choco Taco is playful, energetic, and endlessly entertaining. She adores toys—particularly anything that squeaks—and will proudly carry a new favorite everywhere she goes. She is still figuring out traditional games with humans, so she often creates her own entertainment by shaking her toys, tossing them across the room, and racing after them. When boredom strikes, her first move is usually to grab a toy and start the party herself.   She is also incredibly food motivated and eager to learn. Choco Taco is already working on “sit,” “down,” and even “spin.” With her enthusiasm for treats and quick mind, she should be a fun training partner for a family interested in continuing to teach her new skills.   Once she has enjoyed enough exercise and activity, Choco Taco can match the energy of the household and settle down beautifully. She is happy to nap on the couch or floor as long as she can be close enough to touch one of her people.   A Day in the Life   Choco Taco starts her day around 7:00 a.m. with a trip to the backyard, followed by breakfast. She usually enjoys a morning walk around 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. and, weather permitting, another walk in the evening before dinner.   During the day, she roams the house or relaxes in her playpen. A Kong or frozen treat provides some midday enrichment, and she enjoys having access to the backyard. Choco Taco currently prefers having someone accompany her outside for potty breaks and does not typically relieve herself during walks, so her future family will need to maintain regular backyard potty trips.   At night and when home alone, Choco Taco stays in her crate. She initially protested with some barking and whining, but she is becoming increasingly comfortable and settles more easily as she learns the routine.   Walks and Adventures   Choco Taco walks at a quick but manageable pace and enjoys stopping to investigate interesting smells. Her foster family has discovered that she possesses the oddly impressive ability to untangle the leash from behind her own legs!   The outside world can still feel a little intimidating to her. When she notices an unfamiliar person or dog, she may stop and watch them pass before she feels comfortable continuing. She does not generally bark at them, and her confidence has already improved with repeated walks and positive experiences.   Canine Roommates and Family Life   Choco Taco currently lives with a 22-pound Labradoodle. The two mostly coexist peacefully, walk together, and enjoy sniffing the same neighborhood attractions. Choco Taco can become protective of her toys and playpen around another dog, however, so she needs supervision and thoughtful management when valued items are present. She does not guard toys from people and allows her foster family to remove objects from her mouth without difficulty.   Choco Taco would likely be happiest as the only dog, where she can soak up all the attention and enjoy her toys without worrying about sharing. A home with another dog may also be possible for an experienced adopter prepared to manage resources carefully and continue working on positive canine interactions.   She has done wonderfully with the teenagers in her foster home. Because she is energetic and sometimes launches herself enthusiastically into people for affection, older children are likely to be the best match.   Continuing Her Education  Like many young dogs, Choco Taco explores the world with her mouth. She may pick up shoes, sticks, or other tempting treasures, but she responds to redirection and readily allows people to take items away. Keeping appropriate toys nearby will give her plenty of better options.   She is also still learning that her favorite person can leave the room and always come back. Her comfort with alone time has already improved significantly, but she will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue building her independence gradually.   The Perfect Choco Taco Order   Choco Taco’s ideal home will be active, affectionate, and ready to give a young dog both structure and reassurance. She would love daily walks, playtime, training games, and plenty of opportunities to snuggle. A patient family willing to help her build confidence, polish her housetraining, and grow more comfortable when alone will be rewarded with an intensely loving and delightfully silly companion.   Sweet, smart, playful, and wonderfully affectionate, Choco Taco is ready to bring her signature butt wiggles—and an unlimited supply of cuddles—to her forever home. September 25, 2026, 1:09 am

Please welcome the truly gorgeous Gabby! This pretty girl is 3 years old and a magical mix of dog breeds that makes her one of the most unique pups you'll ever see. She was originally rescued in the pouring rain, and once cleaned up, fed, and vetted, her sweet personality shone through. Weighing 49 lbs,Gabby is very loving and adores all people, including kids, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. While she is happy to coexist with other pets, she would also flourish as the center of attention in her forever home! She is curious and eager to please her foster, though she can be cautious when meeting new people until she warms up.Gabby is already reliably crate trained and is making great progress with her leash manners. She would be a perfect companion for someone looking for a sweet, engaged, gentle, and playful pup who is past the problem puppy stage—a dog you can snuggle, walk, and who will make you feel like the best dog parent ever. Jet is a great little companion and loves attention. He gets along with every dog he meets. He has a lot of energy and needs daily walks or play time. He generally does well on walks after getting out some initial energy. He has done well and been patient with our toddler and older nieces and nephews. He is house trained and sleeps either on his bed, with Honey, or under ours. We joke that it’s his little safe cave, as he can be cautious of new people and loud sounds. I found him just outside my work (landfill). He came to me easily and fit in with our other dogs right away. Because of this, his breed is unknown. He and our other dog Honey, female pitbull mix, are always by each other’s side and look to each other for emotional support. We’d really like to keep them together. We’re heartbroken to see them go, but with work, moving, and growing our family, we really don’t have the time or space to give them the life they deserve anymore.

Looks like: Dachshund Male, 5 years old (estimated), 7 pounds Tuxedo is suited up and ready to dance his way into your heart! This little pup is tiny, but mighty. When he's not snuggled in your arms, he's hopping around playfully. He's all ears and is happy to show them off by perking up and looking around. Tuxedo is a little skinny right now and could use help gaining some weight. He also has a cleft palate, but that sure isn't slowing him down! Tuxedo's ideal day is playing in the sunshine before a serious cuddle session. He'll be your loyal companion, cuddled right in your arms and observing the world. Tuxedo joined us from San Jose Animal Care and Services after they determined his medical needs made him a better fit for our program.
