Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Must adopt with Abby BB is a very sweet affectionate girl.  She is a mini, long-haired Dachshund. She is very spoiled and loves to be petted.  She is very bonded with her sister Abby so she will need to be adopted into the same home.  We will only adopt them together. BB  doesn't have experience with small kids, in fact we prefer only older respectful kids because the sisters are so small.  She  is great with kids over 10. She is house-trained but will use a pee pad if necessary.  Otherwise, she doesn't have accidents on the flooring. Her mom fed her a special type of dachsund food with crumbled cooked chicken mixed in.  We would like to keep her diet consistent at least while she is adapting to her new environment.  We are trying to keep them in the Metro Atlanta area. Age: 10 years Weight: 10lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, cats, older respectful kids Training: Housetrained Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention Email for questions:    http://vanessalweiss@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. July 18, 2026, 7:12 pm

Story
Morty is a senior Dachshund mix with a heart full of love and a strong desire to be wherever his people are. At around 10+ years old and 16 lbs, he’s the definition of a Velcro dog: if you’re home, Morty will be right by your side, in your lap, or snuggled under a blanket near you. Morty is mostly potty trained and does a great job letting you know when he needs to go outside. He walks nicely on a harness and enjoys spending time with other small dogs and cats. While he can coexist with larger dogs, he seems most comfortable around dogs his own size. Like many long-backed breeds, Morty will need ramps or stairs to help protect his back and should not be jumping on and off furniture. He’s also not a good off-leash candidate because once he decides to go exploring, he’s not likely to come back when called! Morty is a sweet, affectionate boy who thrives on attention and companionship. He can be a little anxious when he can’t be near his people and may whine or bark to let you know he’d rather be included. Because of this, he’ll do best with a family that understands his clingy nature and will shower him with the love he craves. For his age, Morty is in great health. He recently had a dental procedure and only has a few teeth remaining, so he does best eating soft food. The good news? He’s very food motivated and always excited for mealtime. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily spend his days cuddled up next to you, Morty may be your perfect match! To adopt him, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org His adoption fee is $350, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.

Kali is a great dog. She loves cuddles ,playing ball and walks. She is crate trained, but it is not necessary. I am currently working 2 jobs and can no longer give her the attention she needs. All of her belongings are yours to take. This includes but is not limited to her crate, bed, food and toys.

Story
How precious is this tiny nugget? Zara is such a wonderful little wiener dog with a curious way of seeing the world. Her previous owners loved her but did not have the means to care for her when she suffered an IVDD back injury and was simultaneously discovered to be heartworm positive. Once she came into DREAM, we took Zara in right away to see our specialist, who performed surgery on the ruptured disc. Since then, she's begun her HW treatment and has undergone acupuncture and cold-laser therapy to help wake her central nervous system back up. It took almost 12 weeks, but we finally have her up and walking...most of the time. She is still wobbly, however this does not impede her quality of life. And if she tires herself out, Zara is perfectly content to get around in a set of wheels. Her mobility challenges certainly don't slow her down from playing with the other dogs in the house. Because of her physical limitations, Zara does need someone who can understand her bodily limits when it comes to holding her urine and stool. This is very easy to learn, very clean and the great thing is when kept on a schedule, she is house-trained and can go most anywhere. She does require someone to check her bladder and make sure it is empty after she finishes. This muscle is still regaining its strength after her injury. Zara is a friendly little muppet who loves her people and has the gumption to thrive no matter the circumstances. It's impossible to be around her without smiling and wanting to snuggle her. She is very much a lap-girl. If you are sitting down, she wants to be right next to you. Her goal in life is to be carried around 24 / 7 / 365. DREAM has helped dogs of all capability levels and we believe this girl is really easy to care for. Resource material is available for you to order as well. One of the original board members wrote this extremely helpful book about day to day life with a "down dog".... Honey Have You Squeezed the Dachshund. If you are interested in adopting Zara, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Zara's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Zara will go to his / her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expense is greater than our adoption fees. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter
