Story
We actually have the two, Piglet the mother who is about four and Peanut the daughter about three. We got them from a shelter about two years ago but they really need more space and my wife and I are seniors with tight schedules and are unable to give them as much time outside and attention as they deserve. They are quite affectionate but rambunctious. Good with even small kids (including our granddaaughter who visits often) but not so with other dogs.

Story
** Current Location: South Korea** Meet Lylla :) She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! Personality. She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever!

Story
My name is Holden, but most often my foster family calls me "Mr. Handsome" or "Sweet Boy." I am both of those things, if I do say so myself. One thing you need to know about me is that I had a back problem so now I cannot use my rear legs. This is VERY common in dachshunds. However, it doesn't slow me down one bit. This gorgeous lover boy is a gentle soul with a bark that sounds like bubbles and he’s also a very talented squeaky toy musician. Sometimes foster ma has to confiscate it so she can work! Other than that he’s a quiet guy who loves to cuddle, take sun naps outside on the deck and beg for dinner like any other dog. I may not walk like other dogs do, but I sure do have a happy life and a happy attitude. My foster mom can teach you to take care of me, it's not difficult. It's not any more work than any other dog is, it's just a bit different. Here's what you get when you adopt me: bedroom eyes, soft long hair in a beautiful mahogany color, cuddles galore, and a constant companion. I am a very good and gentle boy! I don't bark very much, but when I do, my foster ma says I sound like I am underwater. I have no idea what that means, but I'll demonstrate when we meet. I need a home with lots of toys, snuggly blankets, and someone willing to deal with a little poop once in a while. My bladder needs to be expressed manually, but you just squeeze my tummy and out it comes. No biggie. Takes 20 seconds and it's super easy to learn. I love meeting new people, and I am very friendly to everyone i meet. DREAM has helped dogs of all capability levels and we believe this guy is really easy to care for. Resource material is available for you to order as well. One of the original board members wrote this extremely helpful book about day to day life with a "down dog".... Honey Have You Squeezed the Dachshund. If you are interested in adopting Holden, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Holden 's adoption fee is $350.00. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Holden will go to his new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Story
How delicious is a dapple? Vince is no exception to that hard and fast rule. This boy has personality in SPADES! He is such a cool little wiener dog with a curious way of seeing the world. His previous owners loved him but did not have the means to care for him properly when he suffered an IVDD back injury. Once he came into DREAM, we took Vance in right away to see our specialist vet, who performed surgery on three ruptured discs. Since then, he's gone through physical therapy and his foster mama is a pro at helping him through all of his stretches and exercises, and short of getting him a Pilates reformer, he's gotten the works for sure. While the surgery and therapy have helped him greatly, Vance does not have the ability to walk but that doesn’t stop him from getting around and playing with his foster brothers and sisters To help him get around, Vance has a new set of wheels and he absolutely loves rolling around exploring all the world has to offer. He also does well in a special bag that allows him to scoot around while protecting his legs and paws. Because of his physical limitations, Vance will need to be expressed to help him to go to the bathroom-both #1 & #2. This is very easy to learn, very clean and the great thing is when kept on a schedule of expressing, about 4 times a day and once right before bedtime, he’s house trained and can go most anywhere. He's a friendly little muppet who loves his people and has the gumption to thrive no matter his circumstances. It's impossible to be around him without smiling. DREAM has helped dogs of all capability levels and we believe this guy is really easy to care for. Resource material is available for you to order as well. If you are interested in adopting Vance, you can fill out an application right on our website. Go to our online adoption application. Vance's adoption fee is $400. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Vance will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. Story
Right? Can you EVEN with that sweet look on his face? Buddy Ross is a total nugget; we kind of love him - but yeah, we love them alllll, so there's that. Through no fault of his own, Buddy comes to DREAM after his previous owner became unable to care for him. He's been loved his whole life, and he has a lot of love to give. He enjoys playing with toys, and gets on well with other dogs. We aren't sure about cats. Buddy is a people dog, for sure. He loves grownups and kids, and he gets along with other dogs. He wants nothing more than to be in your lap, giving you kisses. His soulful eyes will make you feel like he sees and understands everything. Buddy is an Isabella dachshund (silvery blue fur) and like most Isabellas, he has some hair loss aka alopecia. He doesn't take medicine for it, but would need sun protection like anyone else if he were exposed to the elements. He'll also want a little doggo sweater in the colder weather. He's accustomed to using wee-pads to do his biznezz, but we're working on getting him used to the idea of fertilizing the grass instead of going inside. He's a champ at wearing belly bands and he is crate trained. Buddy loves squeaky toys and bones of all kinds. (He is also a sneaky thief of paper towels and napkins. 😅 The ideal home for Buddy would be someone who wants a constant companion. If you're looking for a friendly, low-key, playful, "your own little shadow" companion look no further than Buddy Ross. Complete an application right online.
