Story
Name: Gin #2023085 Breed: Doxie Age: 7 years old Gender: male Arrival Date: 5/17/23 Location: Yorkville, IL Adoption fee: $500 Gin Sweet gin is a 7 year old male dachshund. He came as as a breeder release and has lots to learn to be an inside dog. Gin is gentle and good with other dogs but fast movements startle him. He would do best in a slower paced home with no children under 10. Right now he prefers walking on the concrete but is learning that the grass isn’t so bad. He has also learned to use doggy steps to get up on the couch but still needs help getting down. Gin is working on potty training. He doesn’t mind using the belly band in the house and will go potty outside when kept on a schedule. It takes him a little bit to warm up to new people, but once he does, look out! He is going to be sending lots of love and cuddling your way. If you have the patience to give Gin time to adjust and learn what it means to be a loved member of a family and you have a little extra room in your lap, Gin is the doxie for you! https://www.mobilemuttsrescue.org/

Story
Meet Sara, the happiest little lady! Sara is a 4 year old, 26 pound Dachshund mix. Sara loves people and is very happy to meet new friends. She's very patient and does great with kids! She's pretty indifferent to other dogs - humans are more her jam. She has decided that she requires a minimum of 10-15 minutes of uninterrupted belly rubs in the morning, and who are we to tell her no?! She's so snuggly and sweet, you'll surely agree with us. She loves attention and makes sure her foster mom knows it, especially when her foster mom is on conference calls :) Sara has bilateral hip dysplasia that has permanently affected her knees and ankles with arthritis. She will require lifelong pain management. Luckily, we've been working on finding the right combination to make sure she is happy and comfy, and she is doing very well! We will surely pass this medication and supplement regimen along to her forever family so she can continue to thrive. Sara loves to go for short walks and she is fully potty trained! She also loves to roll around on the couch with her stuffy toys and she loves to be sung to so, if you've been looking for an audience for your solo karaoke parties, Sara is your girl. If ADORABLE looks could kill, we'd all be in trouble. Sara's eyebrows are on point, her pretty puppy dog eyes are the cutest, and her bottom teefers peeking out at you will make your heart melt. Sarah will need a forever home without stairs. Her perfect forever family will be prepared to give her lots of care and attention, and spend a lot of time with her. She's the best mix of cuddles, chill, and playful sass. Her foster family describes her as a dream dog

Story
Max is a 9 year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix guy who weighs about 14 pounds. He's a timid little fella but he warms up when he's comfortable! He is good with other dogs and cats as long as they don't invade his space. He is great on a leash and he knows how to sit on command! He sleeps in his crate without a peep and he is doing well with potty training. Max has the sweetest eyes and he will melt into your arms for comfort. We think he would do well in just about any home, and he deserves nothing but the best! If you can give this little guy lots of love for the rest of his days, please apply today! Max's adoption fee is $400.

Story
Hello my name is Toby. I am an 11 year old male Dachshund. I am microchipped. I was found running the road and almost got hit by numerous cars. My owners did not want me back. I am very sweet and timid. I do not understand play so I do get a little snippy from time to time if you were to playfully grab at me as I do not understand what this means. I do not care for walking on leashes but will occasionally. I prefer to be a lap dog. I prefer my special family so we can sit together or I in your lap and gets lots of attention all day every day. I am long haired. I am brown and white. I get scared easy. I am fully vaccinated. I am heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I am not neutered and due to my age the vet doesn't think it's a good idea. I will need to be worked with on potty training and I can also wear a belly band that helps with not urinating in your house. I get along great with all other dogs and cats. I am laid back and the sweetest little boy in the world. I'm fine with riding in car if I'm held and not put in a pet carrier. Pet carriers terrify me. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you my special forever human soon. If you are interested in adopting me please contact bakerbridgerescue@aol.com. We transport to a location near you every other week. We use Rescue Riders Transport , the most animal friendly transport ever.

Story
Hello potential Doggie Adopters! At the moment Treasured Animal Rescue is experiencing issues with our website. We are aware our site is down, and we are working our little paws off as fast as we can so we can be back up & running to accept adoption applications. In the meantime, please complete an application via GoogleDocs and mail back to: info@treasuredanimalrescueinc.org https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_9KHhCF4StWkPYwVh7CaJ2eLV7WJVP1CHZGxk8Q1Kbg/edit?usp=sharing Hi there! My name is Tater and I am 7 years young and I'm a Doxie mix. I'm a Southern Gent - so I know my manners. I'm from GA. My owner brought me to a shelter there for reasons unknown. But if you keep reading my Rescuers will give you good insight on why. I then hitched a ride to TN where some rescue folks said "Go to Illinois. There's rescue groups that help you Southern pooches." So, someone showed my cute face to Treasured Animal Rescue and you can guess it, I came to my foster home. When my foster Mom saw my picture she said I looked like a baked potato. Hey! Is that a crack at my weight? Sure, some Doxies have err, a weight problem but I had some reason for that. You might see my before picture. I had a HUGE lump on my left hip. It didn't bother me but for a short fella that lump put a lot of weight on my tiny legs so when I went to the vet for the 1st time, he had my lump checked out. Thankfully, it was just a fatty lump. Seriously? Another crack at my weight? Haha. So, this fatty lump had to come out. I had a big surgery planned. Because not only did I have that fatty lump taken out I had some nasty teeth that needed to go away. Those nasty teeth were affecting my sinuses. I really didn't feel well when I first came to my foster home. I loved all the attention but because my teeth hurt so bad and it hurt my sinuses I just moped around. But then came the day we went to the vet again. On the drive there my foster Mom said to me "trust me, Tater. You are going to feel so much better when all this nasty stuff goes away." And you know what? It did! I now have so much energy and I love to go outside with the other dogs. There's a big dog here that I am ok at. I bark at him - a lot. He wants to play with me but sometimes his size spooks me. Maybe in my past life there was a big dog that was a Bully to me? Who knows. The little dogs and I get along great and the cats? We just ignore each other. I like to hang out in my foster Grandma's room. We call that the Little Dog room. I'm her special pillow. Some might need a lumbar pillow for their back. Here in my foster home I'm the lower lumbar pillow. My favorite spot is hanging out with foster Grandma watching TV and I get to lay with her on her chair. In the house, I am a true Gentleman. Remember I said I was a Southern Gent. No accidents from me. I'm house trained and quiet. I do get barky when I'm outside. I bark when I want to be let outdoors or come back in. Also, I might bark if I see people walking by of course, I got to bark! I walk well on a leash but when I'm done walking (remember I have little legs) I just put on the brakes so if you don't notice I walk out of my collar. It's a trick I play on my foster Mom. She picks me up and of course, there's another crack about my weight and that's the whole purpose! I want to be picked up. I'm not Dummy. One day I am going to have a family of my own. I will be able to lay by you while you watch TV or spend some family time together. I can wait to be part of a family again. Maybe we can go for car rides. I call Shotgun! Please contact my foster Mom and she can set up a play date. She can tell you all my vetting is taken care of, and I feel like a young pup again. Lots of spunk in this boy! Cheers, Tater Tater is located in our foster home in Aurora. Please complete our adoption application either via GoogleDocs or online at: https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/adoption-application-dog/ Sorry, Treasured Animal Rescue does not adopt out of the State of Illinois Thank you for choosing to adopt!
