** Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Meet Lylla :) • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! • She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! • Personality: She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever! ** Adoption Fee Information: The adoption fee covers international transportation and medical expenses, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, a health certificate, deworming, and other necessary veterinary care. In addition to the adoption fee, adopters are responsible for separate entry costs, which must be paid directly to the local customs broker who assists with the dog's customs clearance upon arrival at the U.S. airport. Details regarding the payment process will be provided later.

Story

Meet Thalia! Thalia has spent her whole life taking care of others. She comes from a 65+ dog hoarding and breeding case in a neighboring county, where she spent years being bred instead of being loved. Most recently, she helped raise some of the puppies we’ve been calling the “T Litter.” Those babies are now weaned, and it’s finally Thalia’s turn. It’s time for this sweet girl to experience life as a dog who gets to be loved simply because she exists. And Thalia is SUCH a sweetheart. * Curious * Engaging * Snuggly * Those sweetest eyes * Ready to be someone’s spoiled girl! Despite everything she’s been through, Thalia is ready to trust, connect, and enjoy the simple things: a soft bed, gentle attention, tasty treats, sunny naps, and a person she can call her own. Meet the T Litter puppies Thalia helped raise, along with her friends Teagan, Thea, and Tiana! She gave so much of herself to raise puppies. Now it’s her turn to be someone’s baby. Could you be Thalia’s forever family? Best as only dog or with older dogs. Meet Thea! Thea is officially retired from motherhood! This 8-year-old Dachshund mix was rescued from a breeding and hoarding property with 65+ other dogs. For much of her life, her job was to have litter after litter. But those days are OVER. She has weaned her final litter, been spayed, and enjoyed some much-deserved R&R. Now she’s ready for the best chapter of all: retirement in a home of her own. * No more litters. * No more breeding. * No more being overlooked. * Just a soft bed, gentle hands, yummy treats, and a family to call her own. And through everything she’s been through, Thea is so very sweet, spayed and ready to go home She deserves to spend the rest of her life learning what it means to simply be a beloved family dog. Meet her friends Teagan, Thalia, and Tiana too! Thea has given enough. Now it’s time for someone to give to her. Story

Rocky is a pure breed male miniature short haired dachshund. I got him from a Pet Store in Pennsylvania called Pets N You. He's 5 years old. As much as I love him, I’ve come to realize that I’m no longer able to provide him with the care he needs. He is a special-needs dog who is unable to walk and requires frequent vet visits, diapers, and other supplies, which have become financially overwhelming. I also have a baby and a toddler at home, and between caring for my children and managing everything else, I’m struggling to give him the time, attention, and care he deserves. This is not an easy decision for me, but I want what’s best for him. I’m looking to find him a loving home with someone who has the time, resources, and ability to meet his special needs and give him the quality of life he deserves. He is a very sweet, calm boy who loves spending most of his day sleeping and relaxing. He enjoys cuddling, getting scratches and belly rubs, and, of course, receiving treats!

Story

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.NAME: AislingBREED: DachshundDOB: Sep 3, 2019 (7 years 1 month)GENDER: FemaleHOME RECOMMENDATION: Aisling can be a little apprehensive at first, but she quickly warms up and shows her affectionate and playful personality. She would thrive in a loving family with children or as a calm, easygoing companion for an individual or older couple. A consistent environment will be important in helping her feel secure and comfortable.PERSONALITY: Aisling is very timid and shy! She can warm up and is very sweet.KIDS: YesDOGS: YesCATS: YesTRAINING: Aisling working on potty and leash training skills. With continued consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, she should continue to build confidence and make great progress.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Some large-scale breeding programs occasionally have dogs and puppies they are unable to place due to medical needs, birth defects, appearance differences, or simply because there is not enough demand. WISE partners with groups working to help provide these dogs with a second chance rather than an uncertain future. We are committed to rescuing and caring for dogs of all kinds — healthy, medically fragile, senior, or those with special needs — and giving them the love, safety, and opportunity they deserve.Visit WiseAnimalRescue.org to fill out an adoption application.Adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
