Maple was rescued from Barnwell, South Carolina, and at 30 pounds, she’s a fully grown, perfectly medium sized dog. Don’t let Maple’s short legs fool you—this girl can zoom! She loves to run and have so much fun. She would adore a home with a fenced in yard for maximum zoomie time, but she’d also love to join you for your runs and does well on a leash. Maple is an energetic, happy girl and her friendly, outgoing nature makes her so much fun to be around. Maple would do great in a home with other dogs, cats, and kids. She’d love to race them around the yard, join you for days at the park, and soak up as much fun as she can. Maple is sure to be the sweetest addition to any family dynamic, and she sure hopes you’re ready to bring her home! She will even help cook the bacon! Sweet Janie, the littlest lady, is ready to come home with you! Janie is a very precious 2-month-old, 4 pound Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who was rescued from Swainsboro, Georgia. What she lacks in size, she sure makes up for in personality. Janie is adorable beyond words. We actually don’t think her tail has stopped wagging since she got here. She’s just so happy to be around people and finds joy in every moment of her day. Janie is so loving and sweet, and it’s hard to resist soaking up all the cuddles and affection she is always willing to give. Janie would be the perfect family dog. She’d be happy in a home with other dogs, cats, and kids. She’d love a home full of joy and playfulness, just like her. She hopes you’ll consider adopting her soon—she will be waiting for you! She is 6 years young and ready to find her forever family. She is a long, low riding 17 lbs - her weight is a little deceptive since she appears smaller! She is crate trained and housebroken. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Trudie is a purebred long-haired Dachshund who was released to NorthStar Pet Rescue by her owner who was a breeder. Trudie is a very friendly and loving dog who weighs about 20 pounds. She was scratched in the eye by a cat some time ago - the vet was able to save her eye but it has an opacity to it. Trudie also needs her toenails trimmed often. Rosa was surrendered to rescue when her owner, who had her since she was a puppy, could no longer care for her. She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home but doesn’t really care to interact with them. Rosa weighs around 8.4 pounds and her birthday is 8/22/2011. She has one tooth in the front and a few more in the back (which is why she eats only soft food). Her tongue hangs out of the side of her mouth most of the time which adds to her specialness. Rosa is a very sweet, loveable little ol’ gal. Rosa takes medicine for hair loss. Most of her hair has grown back since coming into rescue in July. She takes Thyro-tabs for the hair loss. Rosa will use a potty pad during the day while foster mom is at work. She eats Beneful Incredibites. Rosa is not appropriate for condo or apartment living as she can be barky at times - she must go to a single family dwelling.
