FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Elk! Elk is a 1.5-year-old, 59 lb Doberman mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter and is currently thriving in foster care. This handsome boy has quickly won over everyone he’s met with his sweet nature, gentle personality, and love for people! Elk is the total package—affectionate, well-mannered, intelligent, and eager to please. He absolutely loves people and is happiest when he’s spending time with his family, whether that’s joining you on a walk, relaxing in the sunshine, or snuggling up for some well-earned cuddles. His foster family describes him as having a calm, docile nature and says he is truly one of the sweetest dogs around. He’s also a smart boy! Elk already knows several commands, including sit, down, stay, wait, and twirl. He’s very food-motivated and enjoys learning, making him a great candidate for continued training and enrichment activities. Elk is fully house-trained and has excellent manners in the home, doesn’t jump on people, and is generally a relaxed, easygoing companion. He enjoys spending time outdoors, loves going for walks, and is happiest when he can soak up the sunshine. He’s great on leash and only tends to pull when he spots a squirrel or bunny. Because he has a strong prey drive and has shown interest in chasing small animals, Elk is looking for a home without cats or other small pets. Elk has done well with other dogs and enjoys meeting canine friends. He would love another friendly dog in the home to socialize and spend time with, especially one around his size. However, he could also thrive as an only dog if his family continues to provide opportunities for socialization. Like many young dogs, Elk is still building confidence. He can occasionally be startled by things like bicycles, motorcycles, vacuums, balloons, or unfamiliar objects. With patient guidance and continued exposure, he continues to gain confidence and navigate the world more comfortably every day. Elk would love a standalone home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore, play, and relax. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who is affectionate, intelligent, adventurous, and endlessly lovable, Elk may be the perfect addition to your family! Elk is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Animal Information: Flint is a 4 month old Doberman mix rescued by a Good Samaritan in SoCal. His foster home had a lot of animals, so he hasn’t had much experience yet with walks or outings, but he’s done great living with small dogs and cats. Flint is a playful, sweet puppy looking for a family to bond with and help teach him the ropes so he can grow into a well-mannered gentleman. He has the typical rambunctiousness of a Doberman puppy, but is smart and eager to please.   Foster Profile:   Flint is super sweet, he’s very energetic and LOVES to play. His favorite toys are anything he can chase and catch! He is highly food motivated, making training sessions easy and fun, though he will need someone patient to keep training fun and exciting for him. He is great with other dogs; he plays rough with smaller dogs and does need a bit of management when he disregards social cues. I chalk this up to his puppy brain. lol H e’s a very rambunctious puppy!  We are looking for a single family home with breed experience and a securely fenced yard for Flint. He is a high energy boy that needs a job -- He would make a great running buddy he is a sprinter and loves to go fast. He would love to go on adventures with you! We are not considering apartments for him at this time. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter (on contract, if applicable), core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Stanislaus in Modesto, CA. They will be transferred via START, arriving to foster care on 5/14/26 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.June 30, 2026, 10:24 pm

Story
Animal Information: Alfalfa is a handsome 2.5 year-old, 50-pound, male Doberman Pinscher mix with the sweetest presence to match his good looks. He was at risk at the Stanislaus shelter, and after seeing his notes and videos we knew we had to save him. According to staff, this sweetheart absolutely loves attention and is always happy to soak up affection from his people. He's patient in his kennel, easy to leash, and walks nicely on leash with only minor pulling. Once he's in the yard, his playful side shines -- get ready for some serious zoomies! Alfalfa enjoy being pet all over and is especially a fan of booty scratches. While he can be a little jumpy when excited, he listens well to "no" and "down", already knows how to sit and is eager to please. As a bonus, he's incredibly photogenic and always camera-ready! Foster Profile:   Alfalfa ("Alfie") is a sweet boy with lots of love to give! He is energetic but not 'wild' and would make a great hiking or jogging buddy. He loves fetch in the yard, going on walks, and hanging out with his people getting pets and love. He is good in his crate, but can be vocal when left alone, so would do best in a house where there are often people around. He is potty trained, and rides well in the car. He plays well with all sorts of other dogs, and is great with children (at least as young as 4). He tolerates cats in the home just fine. He has a loyal and protective instinct, and needs to personally inspect anyone who comes to the house. However, once told that the new human is "safe" he becomes very friendly. His instinct is to pull on leash to greet other dogs, but can be redirected fairly easily. He's very smart and eager to please and learn. His happy place is being snuggled up with the humans he trusts!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Stanislaus shelter in Modesto, Calfornia  via START, arriving to foster care on 1/15 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.June 30, 2026, 10:24 pm

Story
Animal Information: Andre is a handsome, 1-year-old, 67lb male Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. He turned up as a stray and wound up at the Animal Resource Center in Ontario, CA. Our rescue partners met and evaluated him and reached out to our rescue for transfer. Andre passed his dog to dog evaluation and was friendly with everyone he met. We are excited to meet him and help him find a Doberman loving home here in the PNW. Foster Profile: Looking for a dapper Doberdude to be your lifelong companion? Meet Andre! Andre is a handsome 1-year-old, 70-pound Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. He was found wandering the streets of Ontario, California, thin and alone. One look at his friendly face was all it took for us to say "yes" to bringing this deserving young guy into rescue. Andre is every bit the teenage Doberman—smart, energetic, affectionate, and occasionally stubborn (Doberman lovers will understand!). He is currently thriving in foster care on Whidbey Island, where he shares his home with adults of multiple generations, a female shepherd, and a feline friend. This adventurous boy has embraced foster life and enjoys car rides, ferry rides, hikes, and beach outings. He has already made great progress with e-collar training and is developing into an exceptional companion. True to his breed, Andre is highly intelligent, eager to please, and happiest when he has structure, guidance, and opportunities to learn. Andre would do best in a home with working-breed experience and another confident canine companion. He is social and friendly with other dogs when given proper introductions and would love an active family committed to continuing his training and helping him reach his full potential. If you're looking for a loyal adventure buddy, a devoted best friend, and a classic Doberman personality wrapped up in one handsome package, look no further! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Story
Animal Information: Edison and his sister Matilda are almost ten-month-old siblings of an accidental litter of five puppies in Fontana Valley. Mom is a Doberman and dad is a shepherd. The owner reached out for support and the Lange Foundation stepped in to assist with vetting and rescue placement. These puppies (now 10 months) are social and friendly based on temperament assessments. They've had limited backyard life to date but have done well going to the vet and with rescue assessments. The owner reports Edison (currently 45 lbs) is the largest of the litter, energetic and very smart. We look forward to getting to know Edison in foster care. Foster Profile: Edison is the snuggle bug you have waiting for! He loves people but can be a little shy at first but warms up very quickly. He's good with other dogs and not has had an experiences with cats but can be cat tested upon request. He would do best in a house with older dog savvy kids. He is working on crate training, potty training and leash walking and is making progress everyday. He is very food motivated and and is making great strides in his obedience training. His favorite things is to go for walks and snuggle his people.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Story
Animal Profile: Apollo was adopted as a puppy in 2018. He was well loved and cared for by a wonderful member of the dog community here in WA. Unfortunately, due to a tragic accident, his owner passed away and Apollo has returned to the rescue. We are committed to finding him a new home that will uphold the standard of love and care Apollo received from his previous owner. Apollo is crate trained, house trained, and friendly with other dogs. In true Doberman form, he can be watchful of strangers, but does make friends easily. Apollo has great manners inside and outside the home, and will be a wonderful companion to one lucky family. Foster Update:  Apollo is a loyal, intelligent Doberman looking for a calm and committed home where he can enjoy his golden years with someone special. Having spent his life as a cherished companion, Apollo is ready to build a meaningful bond with a person who values patience, trust, and companionship. Once you've earned his loyalty, he is deeply devoted and eager to please. Apollo is an easy dog to live with. He is house-trained, crate-trained, knows his basic commands, and walks beautifully on leash. He has excellent manners in and out of the home and enjoys a predictable, low-key environment where he can relax and be part of the family. While Apollo currently lives alongside other dogs and is generally friendly, he prefers to do his own thing and does not actively seek out canine companionship. He would be happiest as the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the attention and affection from his people. Apollo cannot live with cats or other small animals due to his high prey drive. Like many Dobermans, he can be watchful around strangers at first, but he warms up quickly and makes friends easily. If you're looking for a loyal, steadfast companion to share life's quieter moments, Apollo may be your perfect match. He has so much love left to give and deserves a family who will make his senior years the best years yet. Adoption Info:  Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Apollo is a WA state owner surrender who joined our rescue on 04/26/25.  June 30, 2026, 10:24 pm
