Story
Meet Blossom! This sweet 2-year-old girl is mostly blind and also seems to have some hearing loss. An experienced dog owner that is willing to work with Blossom to help her move around the world with her little vision is needed.Blossom has been going on lots of walks and we have all found her to have excellent leash manners. If you have treats and a gentle touch, she will respond very nicely. She would do best in a home with no young kids as she is not able to see, and the unpredictable nature of them running around can be quite scary for a dog with her special needs. If you are looking for a sweet girl who needs a second chance at life, she's waiting for you. She is a true love and will brighten your life every day along with putting a smile on your face and in your heart. To start the process, please fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire here: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire.The Centre is open Tuesday - Saturday Noon to 4 pm (except for Stat Holidays).Walk-in's are prioritized. Story
Meet Ash - Our Gentle Giant!Ash is a large, lovable Cane Corso with a heart as big as his paws. Despite his impressive size, he's a total sweetheart and walks beautifully on leash. He can get a bit excited when he sees other dogs and may pull, so he could use some continued guidance with his social skills.Ash came to us with his tiny sidekick Jersey, a little senior lady who he clearly adores. While not required, they would be thrilled to find a forever home together. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion (or two!), Ash might just be the perfect fit.If you are interested, please submit an application online or call 250-493-0136 for further information.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Brindle Weight: 65 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Jeff is a lovable goofball with a heart of gold! At 2.5 years old, this handsome red Pit Bull Terrier strikes the perfect balance between playful energy and snuggly sweetness. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a few minutes and he'll be leaning in for affection like you've been best friends forever.Jeff is a strong boy, and while his leash manners are still a work in progress, he's a quick learner who's already showing great improvement. He tends to walk calmly past larger dogs and is often ready to play, but he does have a high prey drive and isn't suited for homes with small dogs. A confident handler will help him continue building his skills, especially when he gets excited and pulls at the sight of other dogs. His previous family noted that he's not a fan of cats, but during his time with us, Jeff has done well with other larger, dog-savvy pups. He's crate trained, thrives with structure, and would love a home where someone is around more often-he can get a little worried when left alone for long stretches and would benefit from help building confidence when solo. We're currently exploring the possibility of some mild allergies-nothing major, but he may do best with a special diet or a little ongoing monitoring to keep him feeling his best.If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who just needs a bit of time to warm up, Jeff might be exactly who you're looking for. Come meet this sweet boy-you'll be glad you did!In order to prepare for your visit, you can submit a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire as well at;https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Tan Weight: 35.4 Age: 2yrs 6mths 0wks

Story
Freya is a 3-year-old English Mastiff who was brought into the shelter after being abandoned at a vet clinic in Merritt. While we don't know much about her past, she's ready to move on and start a new chapter.Freya's ideal home is with an experienced, confident, and active owner who has the time and energy to help her become the best dog she can be. She's a big girl with a lot of excitement, especially around other dogs, so she'll need some behavior planning and training to manage her reactions. Freya would love a spacious home with a large, fenced yard where she can run and play to her heart's content! Because of her size, and excitability, she is not suitable for a household with children. This sweet girl is incredibly treat-motivated and eager to please, making her a great candidate for training. She's also affectionate and loves to shower people with big, sloppy kisses. Freya will be a loyal, protective companion who thrives on gentle training and lots of love and attention! If you're looking for a loving, and devoted dog, Freya could be the perfect match for you!To start the process, please fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire here:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire.
