Story
Hi, my name is Timmy. I’m a Chiweenie and about 13 pounds. I’m currently in a foster home but I’m hoping a family will adopt me to into their home. I’m 1 - 2 years old. I’m a loving guy, really like sitting in someone’s lap, and just enjoy being together. My foster family has 2 dogs and 2 cats and we all get along well. Please consider making me part of your family. I do tend to be a runner so a fence would be best but I do walk well on a lead. My adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in Timmy, please visit www.pawscare.org, and click on the online application. We require the application to be filled out and approved prior to meeting him as all of our animals are in private foster homes. Please fill out all information as we cannot process incomplete applications. A phone number for your veterinarian is a must. We CANNOT process your application without a vet phone number.

Story
Hello. I’m Penny and I’m around a year old. They say I’m a Catahoula mix. I have webbed feet like a lab and double dew claws like a Great Pyrenees. I have a beautiful brindle coat. My foster mom says I am a really good girl but a little rambunctious. I’m great with dogs and cats, but I do like to chase. I weigh close to 70 pounds so I would probably not be good with smaller kids but 10 and older would be good. I’m doing good housebreaking. My adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in Penny, please visit www.pawscare.org, and click on the online application. We require the application to be filled out and approved prior to meeting her as all of our animals are in private foster homes. Story
Please visit leiashope.org for our adoption process. Requirements: Secure PHYSICAL fenced yard Thea is a former breeder dog that is so grateful to be in rescue and a home! She has been soaking up the love and attention since joining Leia's Hope! She is a sweet gal that loves to snuggle next to you in bed at night and in the recliner when watching TV. Thea gets super excited for treats and probably never knew of such a pleasure before rescue. She is an easy going gal and gets along great with other dogs, but we believe she would be ok being the only pet. Thea is beginning to play with toys and this is always so fun to watch a former mill dog do normal dog things! Thea is not leash trained and will need a secure physical fenced yard. Thea's adoption is $375. She is spayed, received a dental, current on vaccines, microchipped and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. Visit leiashope.org for next steps! PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing. All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application. We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet. Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy energy!

Story
Sofia is the sweetest girl and just loves people! She was a bonus dog from our last rescue mission that was not part of the plan of dogs to save. However, she won over our transport volunteer when she thumped her little tail with excitement in her kennel and then tried to leap into her arms. It was sealed then, that she would be safe! She would finally be loved for who she is and not forced to produce puppies for profit any longer! Sofia has continued her loving and happy disposition with her foster family. She follows foster mom wherever she goes and seeks every opportunity for belly rubs, head scratches or just snuggling up on the couch! She snores like a lumber jack cutting down a forest, which warms our hearts to know she is so content! Sofia gets along with all dogs of various sizes and ages, but she is also ok to be the apple of your eye and get all the attention! Sofia does not require a physical fenced yard but it is preferred as she likes to run around and be a goof ball in the yard. We do not accept electric fences as secure and she would require to be leashed at all times when outdoors not in a secure physical fenced yard. Sofia's adoption fee is $315. She is spayed, received a dental, microchipped, current on vaccines, and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. A slight heart murmur was heard during her spay/dental but she does not need any medications at this time and only needs monitored by a vet. Visit our Application Process on our website leiashope.org for how to make this sweetie part of your family! PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing. All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application. We do adopt out of the area. Story
Meredith is a puppy mill survivor! She waited almost 6 years to get her chance at freedom and now she has it! Meredith is flourishing in a foster home but she is shy of new people and situations and small children make her nervous. She would do best in a home without small children who live there, visiting would be ok. Meredith has learned freedom is great and she likes to run around the yard, chase playfully after the cat and thinks crinkle toys are the best thing since sliced bread! She gets along great with other dogs, but is a bit mischievous and likes to steel their chewies and run off with them! She knows that the biggest dog bed in the house is hers and you can't convince her that the smaller one is meant for her to sleep in. She has gotten comfortable enough with foster mom that she seeks attention and likes to be petted. She also loves dinner time and gets super excited to eat. Meredith will require a secure physical fenced yard as she is considered a flight risk. This is for her safety and her parent's sanity! She would do best in a home with another dog to continue learning how to be a pet. If you do not have a dog then experience with insecure puppy mill dogs is a MUST! Meredith's adoption fee is $315. She is spayed, received a dental, microchipped, current on vaccines and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. Please visit leiashope.org for our adoption process. NOTE: WE ARE A VOLUNTEER RAN ORGANIZATION AND OUR APPLICATION PROCESS CAN TAKE 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS, DEPENDING ON OUR AVAILIBILITY AND YOUR REFERENCES. ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE IN FOSTER HOMES AND NOT AT A CENTRAL LOCATION. AN APPROVED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE WE DO MEET AND GREETS. WE DO NOT SHIP OR TRANSPORT DOGS. YOU MUST COME TO THE LOCATION OF THE DOG TO MEET AND ADOPT.

Story
Oscar is a puppy mill survivor and is learning to trust people. We do not believe he had much socialization with people prior to coming to rescue. If he did have socialization with people it was not kind. It has left him with a mistrust for people, but he is getting better. He likes to follow his foster mom around the house, but is still a little skittish if she goes to pet him or touch him. He is getting much better and now no longer runs and hides, just back up some. If foster mom goes slow and talks low he does better. Oscar likes most other dogs and enjoys sleeping next to his furry buddies in a dog bed. He is still learning to play, and sometimes foster mom will catch him play bowing to the other dogs. Oscar can seem like a grouchy guy as he grumbles sometimes for no reason at all. We have come to accept that is just the way he is and laugh when he does it. Small children are not advised with Oscar due to his mistrust of people and we fear this would be just too much for him. He is seeking a mature home with a physical secure fence and someone with another dog in the home. Oscar's adoption is $315. He has received a dental, neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. Visit leiashope.org for the adoption process. Please READ! We are a volunteer ran organization and it can take 7-10 business days to process applications depending on the volume of applications, our availability, and the availability of your references. PLEASE BE PATIENT. We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or transport dogs. You MUST come to the location of our dog to meet and adopt. If interested in a puppy under 9 months old, preference will be given to someone with a flexible schedule, someone who can socialize with children and other dogs, and someone who can commit to the next 15 years of this dog's life.
