Hello. I’m Penny and I’m around a year old. They say I’m a Catahoula mix. I have webbed feet like a lab and double dew claws like a Great Pyrenees. I have a beautiful brindle coat. My foster mom says I am a really good girl but a little rambunctious. I’m great with dogs and cats, but I do like to chase. I weigh close to 70 pounds so I would probably not be good with smaller kids but 10 and older would be good. I’m doing good housebreaking. My adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in Penny, please visit www.pawscare.org, and click on the online application. We require the application to be filled out and approved prior to meeting her as all of our animals are in private foster homes. Please fill out all information as we cannot process incomplete applications. A phone number for your veterinarian is a must. We CANNOT process your application without a vet phone number.

Story
Hi everyone my name is Tinker. I am a 5 year old Shiz-Tzu, I weigh 13 pounds. Right now I'm staying with a Foster family that has 2 dogs and 2 cats and we all get along together well. I am a lover and like to lap sit and snugle up giving as much loving as I get. I'm looking forward to a forever home with a great family. I am house broke, not perfect, but if for some reason if needed I also will use a "Puppy Pad". I do like to run when I am out side so a fence would be great but my foster family will tell how well I walk on a lead as well. So if you are looking for a new pet to add to your family, please consider me. If you are interested in Tinker, please visit www.pawscare.org, and click on the online application. We require the application to be filled out and approved prior to meeting him as all of our animals are in private foster homes. Story
Buster! What an amazing dog who unfortunately was living a life on a chain. He's happy to be warm and safe now, but dreaming of new, wonderful forever family. Buster loves EVERYONE! He's a big goofy boy who doesn't realize his size, but what a lovable, happy dog! With a training collar on, he walks very well on a leash. He loves treats and is ready to please. He loves to run and play and will make a wonderful companion to an active family---or someone with a secure fenced yard where he can exercise himself. Buster was left alone on a tie-out before, so we are asking that he be with a family who will let him live indoors and truly be part of the family. Buster has been tested with dogs and cats, and is happy with both. Of course, he might chase a kitty if it runs, but he can easily learn to be polite. He would love an active playmate dog to bond with...a meet and greet is always good to ensure a win-win for all. (The key to a happy home of pets are slow introductions over the course of a few days...step by step.) Don't miss out on this handsome, sweet boy! ........... We do ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, on a first-come/first serve basis. The best way to make an appointment is to click the blue "Book Now" button at the top of our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/maccoanimalcontrol. My name is Elsa and I came here on 10/3 with my sone Luigi. Since I'm a senior, any major medical needs I might have as I age is being donated by The Helping Paw Project ---as long as you use one of the vets they work with. (Shots, nails, and routine vet visits are not included.) I'm a healthy girl, but for the future, that's a great deal! I would love for us two to go home together...but if that isn't possible, I think we can learn to adjust. Now...let me tell you more. We were picked up as strays and our owners could no longer care for us. But, they did a nice job training us. I am a sweet, little pittie. I'm only halfway up to your knees. I walk well on a leash, take treats gently, and love people. I'm not fond of cats and I'm iffy with other dogs, so I'll be best as an only pet. My dream home will have a family who will cuddle me and let me snooze on a snuggly bed or blanket. I'd love a fenced yard, or folks who will take me on a leash to go potty. If you are looking for a pretty petite, affectionate girl who knows how to obey, I'm a good pick! ***NOTE: Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip and vaccines; all required before adoptions are finalized. ........... Hi! My name is Nolan and I came here on 11/1 with my best friend Sage. Our owner could no longer care or us, so here we are. We had bad skin due to fleas, but we are getting better with medicated baths every week. I'm a handsome young dog that walks good on a leash and responds to corrections nicely. I sit on command too! I'm playful and energetic at times, but also gentle with a kind heart. My pictures don't show what a sweet, generous soul I am. I truly am not grumpy at all!!! I like to play, and I love to be petted, especially on my chest! I hope to have a home with kids (or adults who act like kids!) I hope they have toys I can chase and treats that are yummy. I've been told I'm a real looker, whatever that means. Now the bad stuff: I'm not good with chickens, and maybe not cats. But, other than that, I can be a wonderful family dog. I dream of a home with a fenced yard where I can play tug-of-war and chase balls. Or maybe we can go on walks! If you are looking for a good boy that loves people, just come meet me...and also my BFF Sage! ....... Note: We would love to be adopted together, so if you adopt us both, you get 2 for the price of one! Yep! Both of us for $175!!! A great deal for two great dogs! The 2 for 1 deal is only good if we are adopted together, which is preferred but not required, since they have gotten used to being apart here at the shelter. ...... Story
"I'm Jackson, a stately 8-year-old pup. Folks say I have the most enchanting eyes and a perpetual grin that lights up my graying face. My journey here started when a kind soul brought me to the Staunton PD, saying I was a stray. Hard to understand how this happened to me, but praying someone will take a shine to an old dog with lots to offer. My hobbies are commands like sit and down, and nothing brings me more joy than belly rubs! I'm a big fan of rolling on my back and showing off my playful side; it's my way of keeping things light and entertaining. Now, when it comes to other furry friends, I have to admit I'm not fond of those feline creatures. So, the perfect home for me would be one without any other pets. BUT...., if you have a doggy companion, let's arrange a meet-and-greet to see if we hit it off. I'm a gentle soul, great with kids, and always ready for some fun and love. If you're looking for a charming older gentleman with lots of love to give, please consider me: Jackson." ........... Please come meet this sweet soul soon! (We keep our posts up-to-date.)
