Story
Pepper is a five-year-old foxhound/harrier mix looking for a new home. She is a lover girl, looking for someone who with a steady schedule who can give her all of the cuddles and belly rubs she deserves. She’s looking for a place where ideally she is the only dog — other dogs make her nervous. She has lived with cats her whole life, and I am convinced she fully believes she is one! Her happy-go-lucky attitude may scare shy cats at first, so beware of that if your cats are more on the timid side. She is not a fan of children; they scare her with their unpredictability. Pepper can fit any vibe. She’s been both couch potato and life of the party. Whatever the mood, she’s there so long as she’s got her folks by her side.

Story
Resin is in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Resin is a truly special dog with a heart full of love. He’s what many would call a “velcro dog,” happiest when he’s right by your side and soaking up all the attention he can get. Around 11 years old, he loves being touched, is calm and affectionate, and has a gentle, kind nature that makes him an easy companion to have around. Resin is also fully house trained and settles into a routine quickly. In his foster home, Resin does well overall in his crate (he may take a few minutes to settle) and rarely barks. He’s content lounging on the couch when you’re home and relaxes easily. While he’s still learning basic commands, he’s eager to please and thrives on being close to his person. On walks, he does best with a harness since he’s strong, and he may chase small animals if given the chance.Resin would do best in a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and secure. He can be sensitive to raised voices and may shut down if there’s yelling, so a patient, gentle environment will help him shine. With his incredibly sweet and loyal personality, Resin is the kind of dog who will quickly become a devoted best friend. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!

Story
Oriana is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Oriana’s name means “new beginnings,” and it fits her perfectly. Despite everything she’s been through, she is a gentle, loving dog who just wants to be close to her people. She loves to snuggle on the couch, enjoys being pet, and does great with kids and other dogs, showing a sweet and submissive personality.Thought to be around 2 yrs old, she’s doing well learning routines in her foster home. Oriana is making good progress with house training, knows commands like “sit” and “paw,” and is comfortable in her crate. She enjoys being outside and going for walks, though she’s still working on leash skills and can get distracted. She’s generally calm and rarely barks.Oriana would do best in a home where she can continue to build confidence and be part of the family. She may need a little help with manners, but her affectionate, loyal nature makes her a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly companion who will reward your care with endless affection, Oriana might just be your perfect match. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. Story
Wiley is an amazing puppy. She was adopted by my father from a rescue but the reality is, he isn’t in a place to be a good pet owner at this time. I’d take her myself but have 4 kids of my own and know i can’t give her the attention she deserves. Shes great with babies and kids, is house broken, and walks well on a leash. Shes just a puppy who needs a nice big yard to run and play in, and someone who’s got time to train her a little more. She’d be a great addition to a young family.
