Story
My name is Oakley! I am a big strong boy who loves the attention of anyone who will give it to me, I especially enjoy belly rubs. I LOVE bath time because I love water!!  I am good with most dogs but I do need a home without cats. I enjoy short walks and I walk beautifully with a Gentle Leader. I am 100% potty trained and crate trained. My ideal home would not have a lot of people in and out. I am 76 pounds and almost 4 years old. My Dad is an AKC registered German Shepherd, Mom is a beautiful smaller black lab mix.  Oakley's $300 adoption fee covers his neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, deworming medication, and microchip registration. Story
Xena is a very sweet and smart girl who loves the water and a ball! She loves to cuddle and loves to go on walks. She is the perfect dog for a medium activity household she does well with other dogs adults and children. She loves to take naps but also can run around for hours! She is very protective over the ones she loves but is also accepting of new faces. She knows all of her commands like sit, stay, come, here and more. She understands both English and Spanish commands. She is house trained but could use some help on the leash. She has been in the city for almost two years but I have no doubt she would equip well to a suburban area as well. All in all if you are looking for a sweet loving smart loyal companion Xena is the girl for you!

Story
Vienna is fostered in Lansing, IL.   Meet Vienna.  She is a black and tan, 8 lb, Mini Dachshund and Miniature Pinscher mix who is full of life and loves cuddling with all humans and other dogs. She is playful, smart, loyal, goofy, and independent. Her foster dad calls her his little lemur; she loves to leap and play and has some serious distance! Her forever home should be ready for everyone to stop you on walks to admire how adorable she is! Her date of birth is 8/29/2025. She is super snuggly and very affectionate once she gets a few minutes to get to know you. Then, she is as loyal, gentle and snuggly as they come. She enjoys time on her human's lap (especially warm ones), being carried around, and sunbathing. At night I want to be under your comforter snuggled into you.  Vienna does need to stay on a consistent potty training schedule and she has been used to having someone (another dog or human) in the home with her.  We highly recommend someone with breed specific experience.   Vienna is still learning how to alert/inform her humans how she needs to go outside to potty, and making good progress. Her foster dad says she just needs to keep working at it in her forever home.  A schedule for potty training needs to be continued for success.  What Vienna says about her life before coming to rescue: "I lived with a really big Doberman, as well as a German Shepherd and a cat along with 2 children under 10 years of age. I had lots of fun there, and would love to live with small humans or furry (or feathered) friends again. Now I’m living with my foster Dad and his female Australian Shepherd. When Dad leaves, he allows us both to have the run of the house, though we typically just lounge around and nap. My foster Dad has taught me that being inside a crate isn’t all that bad. I’ll eat my meals in my crate and will occasionally stay in one for a few hours to continue to learn to like it. I’m also good with nail trims. When I get introduced to new people or dogs, I like to just have a moment. I’m shy at first and need to feel things out for a few minutes. Once I feel safe, it’s game on for lots of fun!  I really enjoy car rides, especially if I get to be next to or on someone warm. I enjoy sitting in a cart at stores and welcome meeting people if they move slow around me. Don’t let my size fool you, as my foster dad calls me his little Sprite. I kinda agree with him here. :) I’d prefer a home with lots of love from my humans, fun dogs to play with (cats are fine too) and share beds and bones with.  Vienna is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed and is taking monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org   ##2639030##

Story
Dior is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet her during open hours! This little supermodel was discovered by our scouts who happened to be down at Chicago Animal Care and Control recently. Dior had been relinquished by her owner the day before we met her due to "cost." This sweet and petite show-stopper is just 26 lbs, and though she needs to fill out for sure, we think she is going to be a perfect medium size gal. Like her namesake, our Dior is a true fashion icon in the making. With her striking bi-color face (one eye patched in stunning brindle, the other clean and bright) she is a natural masterpiece. She's so chic that she already wears her own signature accessory—a sweet pink flower right on her collar! Dior is in that perfect, joyful stage of life where everything is an adventure and everyone is a potential best friend. She is an intelligent and social girl who will greet you with shy tail wags and licks. She is the perfect mix of an active playmate and a snuggle bug. Dior is ready to be your most loyal and stylish companion. We hope you will ask about her today! Dior’s adoption fee is $300. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
