Story
Meet Uzi, an adorable 2-year-old female pit bull terrier mix who was relinquished because her previous caretaker could no longer keep her. She's a friendly sweetheart with a playful spirit. If you’re looking for a bundle of joy, swing by CCHS and give Uzi a friendly hello! Uzi is a VOLUNTEER FAVORITE Pet! See what Dog Walking Volunteers Michelle and Erin have to say about her: Uzi is just the best; she will look up at you with her big brown eyes like she is listening intently and offer a paw to say thanks for hanging out. Uzi is a sweet girl who loves to sit and chill for cuddles, explore the grounds, or head into the exercise yard to have a run around like a total goofball. Uzi will make a great companion. – Michelle When I first took Uzi out for a walk, she was a bit scared to go outside and always tried to go running back in. She loved to cuddle in her kennel and was always super sweet, but was very timid when it came to going outside. The past few days, Uzi has been so excited to see me and has happily gone outside for extended periods of time, eager to explore the yard. Her smile makes me so happy, and I love giving her lots and lots of cuddles and treats after every walk she gets. Her bark may be a bit intimidating, but she is just a big sweetie at heart, and I am always excited to take her out for the walks she now seems to enjoy. - Erin

Story
Bailey is an 8-month-old pit bull mix who first came to our shelter with her siblings. She was quickly adopted because of her charming personality. She was a perfect playmate for their child and was loved as the family's dog. However, she was returned when a family member developed unexpected allergies to her. Bailey may need some time to warm up to new people, but she reveals her playful and delightful nature, especially during walks. To help her become the best pup she can be, she will require puppy training classes. Bailey is a STAFF FAVORITE pet! Here's what adoption staff member, Avrohom has to say about her: "Bailey is the sweetest! She exemplifies what it means to be a resilient dog, having been here much longer than any of her siblings. After being adopted to a family with kids that loved her, she unfortunately had to come back too soon because they developed allergies, but that has not made her any less of a cutie. Bailey and her puppy eyes remind me that all a dog needs is love, and while she is shy at first, she warms up and learns really quickly! Taking her out for a visit is a pure joy, seeing how she gets excited after being uncertain for a second. She will definitely add so much love to a home that will take care of her, so I really hope she gets adopted and lives a long and happy life. Trust me, she is worth taking the leap!"
