Story
Jack is a sweet senior dog, around 12 years old, looking for a loving home after his owner suffered a serious fall and can no longer care for him. He’s happiest simply being near his people — snoozing on the couch, following you from room to room, and soaking up back scratches and pets.Jack still has a playful side! He loves fetch, barking at squirrels, and solving treat puzzles like a pro. Though he spent most of his life as an only dog, he’s currently thriving in a foster home with another dog and enjoys the farmer's market.Jack was rescued years ago after experiencing neglect and abuse early in life. With love and training, he’s become a gentle, loyal companion. He can be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly, especially if treats are involved. If you’re looking for a quiet, loving best friend to keep you company, Jack is ready to meet you.

Story
Milo is an approximately 5 years old rescue cattle dog mix from the east coast. Due to the international relocation of his human to a situation which is not able to accommodate him, he is looking for a new home with patience and love. He is very well trained with an expansive panel of functional and just-for-fun tricks and underwent a significant degree of service training, but due to his insecurity in public did not make it to full-time work. As a nervous herding breed, Milo would not do well in a home with children or free-roaming small animals. Milo is selective about his fellow canine friends and previously showed mild resource guarding but was able to work through it while in a multidog house for a short period of time. Milo is looking for a home with someone who can provide him with daily enrichment and physical activity, and who will be patient with him as he adjusts to this large change and learns to trust and love them as he has with his human for the last several years.

Story
Meet Fjord! This 8 year old pit-bull mix is refined gentleman that's sure to win your heart with his puppy-like eyes and wiggly butt. Fjord has come to us from our local animal control facility twice now, so his home life is a mystery to us, but here at CCHS he has proven himself to be a playful, affectionate and brilliant companion. He is appropriate in his interactions with other dogs, and has a passion for plushies. He is food-motivated and very biddable, and loves a good butt scratch. Fjord is such an angel. There's no reason to wait any longer, come meet and snatch up Fjord at CCHS! Fjord is a STAFF FAVORITE PET! Here's what our Intake Coordinator, Tyler, has to say about him: “I've known Mr. Fjord since his first stint at animal control back in 2021. Not much has changed about this sweet boy's personality in that time. He is a proper Distinguished Gentleman who has perfected the "puppy dog eyes" look. His sweet face staring up at you always earns a treat or a pet (or more likely both). He is just generally a sweet old man. Fjord enjoys long walks, eating his Peanut Butter and smelling all there is to smell!  He's just starting to hit his golden years in stride and has lots of love and little bursts of energy to give too as long as you provide him treats and scratches and keep 'em coming!”

Story
Pochio is a 1-year-old large mixed breed boy available for adoption at CCHS! Pochio was originally found as a stray and taken into a home. He is a boisterous big boy who did well with young children in his previous home. He loves going outside for walks and sniff time. He has a lot to say (he has a lot of opinions), so he may be a good fit for someone without close neighbors! Come meet this big boy at CCHS!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Esha is a 9-year-old female pit mix available for adoption at CCHS! Esha has found her way to our facility a few times since she was a young dog, but came here most recently after being found running at large in Western Indiana. She's been around! Esha definitely does not "act" like a senior gal, as she has quite a bit of energy and spunk left in her. Come meet Esha at CCHS!
