Story
Henno world. My name is Alfie, short for Alfred. I hope you’ve been following my story. I finally had my teef cleaned (and lost 5 teef to the toof fairy) and got rid of that 💩breath. I’m ready to find a home! I’m in a foster home now. My family consists of two pawrents and two fur sisters. For the first few days I was really scared and didn’t come out of my kennel much. When I felt more confident, I stepped out and joined everybody and I haven’t looked back since! I’m a quiet, sleepy, and low key gentleman. I enjoy long naps, good food, and snuggle sessions. I dapple in enrichment activities to stay young and alert. I may occasionally become part cat and perch on high places, but I’m just keeping a watchful eye on dem pesky squirrels. Up here (or at a window) is where you might hear my little bark. I’m very good at alerting if someone is approaching the premises. I also may occasionally indulge in a round of 5 second zoomies or tag. My foster mom says I look quite dapper in a sweater. I won’t argue. I photograph well and could even be on a post card if you ask me. I am kennel and potty trained. I can be left loose in the house with no issues! I don’t destroy or get into things. Just not my style…I prefer calm over chaos. I sleep through the night with no accidents, crying, or barking. I walk well on a leash and I don’t mind car rides. I’m only 17lbs so I travel well. They say I might be a miniature pinscher/chihuahua mix, whatever that means. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I may or may not have a little of that famous “chi spice” 👀 All in all, I’m looking for a peaceful yet fun household for my 12 year old self. I like other dogs! I haven’t been around any kitty friends, so I’m not sure, but my rescue team could help with that if needed. Given his affinity for a calm environment and people, we would recommend a home with adults only. He takes a little slowly to new people and appreciates feeling safe, so letting him be and settle in is essential. He will come around on his own once he feels trustful. So, let’s have a show of hands for who wants to adopt this brown little peanut! ✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻

Story
Please meet Mia, If I’m being honest, I don’t even really want to write her biography because that means she will be leaving soon. We have enjoyed having her in our house so much. Mia is a 9 year purebred poodle. Yes, you can absolutely find purebred dogs in a rescue! She is such a cool old lady. She is quite spry for her age. She is a bit of a sour patch kid, but nothing truly bad like biting or destructive behavior just attitude. She will tell you when she is displeased, and enjoys yelling at things to stay off her lawn! She is also house and crate trained. Mia is ok with other dogs. She would prefer a home with a calm older or dog or no dogs at all. She loves the company of humans over animals. We are working on how we address our cat friends, but she does chase cats. She is fully vetted, up to date on shots, and ready to find a loving home to treat her like the queen she already knows she is. Mia does have some allergies that caused her hair to fall out. The rescue has had a food sensitivity test done and the adopter will receive those results. She is currently receiving medications and medicated baths twice weekly. Her skin is looking much better than when she arrived!

Story
Enzo is a handsome, resilient dog whose past, while difficult, has only highlighted his incredible capacity for love and loyalty. This brave boy was surrendered to Mikaela's Mutt Motel after a concerned citizen intervened regarding his heartbreaking living conditions. For too long, Enzo knew a harsh life. He was chained to a tree with a painful metal choke collar, forced to endure freezing temperatures with nothing more than a doghouse lacking bedding or straw, frozen water, and food iced to the ground. He had known these conditions since he was a pup. Understandably, Enzo's history means he takes time to trust new people. He has learned to be cautious, but once he realizes you mean him no harm, his entire demeanor changes. Beneath the hesitation is a true best friend just waiting to emerge. When you earn his trust, you will gain a devoted companion for life. Enzo has shown he does well with other dogs. However, due to his past resource guarding and need for security, he must be fed separately from any canine companions to ensure a peaceful mealtime for everyone. This boy is very smart, highly food-motivated, and eager to please his humans. This makes him a fantastic candidate for positive reinforcement training! He will thrive in a home where he can learn new tricks and tasks, which will build his confidence and strengthen your relationship. Enzo is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who is committed to showing him what a safe and comfortable home truly feels like. He needs a family who will give him the time and space to decompress and earn his trust slowly, without pressure. In return, you will be rewarded with the unwavering devotion of a dog who appreciates every kindness shown to him. A home where he can continue his positive reinforcement training will help him blossom! Are you ready to open your heart and home to this deserving survivor and witness his amazing transformation?
