Story
Meet this little Foxy lady! Foxy is a sweet small soul with lots of smiles (and ears) to go around! She is very well trained in different aspects. She’s a pro at walking on a leash (she’s a short walk kind of gal), she loves her crate and goes right in with no trouble. She loves her bed, but prefers snoozing and dreaming on the couch. She occasionally wants to indulge in a snuggle session in a comfy chair with her person. She will always let you know when she needs to go outside to potty with a whine or lone bark at the door! She has not had any accidents in her foster home. If she had to choose a favorite toy, it’d probably be her tug rope! She likes to play fetch, however, don’t be offended if she forgets to bring the ball back. If you incentivize her with a scrumptious treat if/when she brings the ball back, she’ll do better the next time! She’s also a fan of car rides and getting a pup cup when mom/dad get a coffee. She does well with other dogs when introduced slowly. She is a little apprehensive of big dogs at first (might be her small size). But, once she is familiar with other dogs, she does perfectly fine. She has done amazing around children and enjoys playing with them! She does like her privacy when getting a treat or being fed (she’s a foodie). She does best eating in her crate. She tends to be afraid the other dogs will steal it, and so we like to give her space for her to enjoy in peace. All in all, Foxy would make a great addition to a loving family! She has lots of love, ears, and loyalty to go around and would be thrilled if she could have a family of her own! If you’re in the market for a lowkey pet with a Colgate smile and some missing teef, Foxy is your girl!

Story
Meet Maggie! She is an 18lb loaf of loyalty! 🍞She LOVES car rides and always makes sure to stick her head out the window to get that wind to flap her ears just right. She wants to be in your lap or face making sure she has an eye (or two) on you!  She loves going undercover, literally. 🛌She has an inclination to sleep under the covers with you and could probably live there if you let her. She’s indifferent to cats and mostly leaves them alone. She’s taken a liking to plopping by the window with her plant friends and if you look quickly, you can’t tell her apart (at least that’s what we tell her). 🤫She’s an attention hound when she’s not napping all day on a heated blanket with her best guy, Mr. Banana🍌 (see photo). For an old girl, she is fast and loves to zoom around. When her foster mom needs to go somewhere without her, she is left free to roam and nap in the house with no issues. She is leash and potty trained. She is a little suspicious of new people & dogs (must be the Chi in her), so a slow gentle introduction would be best for Maggie Mag. In a perfect world, she would be over the moon if she could be with her human(s) 24/7 because she much rather prefers company than to be alone.  But alas, we have hope that the right family is out there for her and will love her unconditionally!🏡 Apply for Maggie (and Mr. Banana🍌) today! new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SDSR/Dog

Story
Sugar faced Shadow is an 11-year-old lab/pittie mix who is on the hunt for his new family. He found himself in a sad and scary situation after his owner passed away and he was on the euthanasia list after being at the shelter since January. He has done well with kids, other dogs, and most everything! For an old man he's got the energy of a puppy. He loves just hanging out and relaxing, but also getting to go outside to run and play. He enjoys car rides, especially when they end with getting pupcups. He just loves everyone and wants to say hi and be part of life. You could say he just suffers from an acute case of FOMO, but then again, don’t all dogs just want to be part of the pawty? He is working on not pulling on the leash during outings, but would benefit from practice, training, and consistency. He does good in a kennel and stays in one while his foster parents leave the house and for bedtime. When he’s had enough alone time and misses you, he will just let you know with a couple of howls. He loves just sitting down after getting in a good walk and soaks up all the love and pets. He’s the happiest boy and will reward you with many smiles! He recently had a dental and was neutered, so he is ready and up to date for adoption! Apply for Shadow today and have a best friend forever!

Story
Fern is the definition of a perfect, spry, senior citizen. She is potty trained and does well in the car. She loves her walkies and will gladly chase squirrels out of your yard. She is 10 years young, with fantastic teefs and a heart of pure gold. When you get home, she gets so excited her whole back end wags and she picks up a stuffy and carries it around. She’s truly something special, and she loves to relax and watch tv (yes she does really watch)! She also loves other dogs and when a dog wants to play, you’ll see how young at heart she still is. Her tail never stops wagging, but she is gentle. Has lived with children and done very well. Was recently introduced to cats and while intrigued, she remained happy and curious. When her new kitty friend gave her a little “bop,” that was her que to find a spot to lay down and leave her kitty friend alone. Truly, anyone would be so lucky to have such an amazing, loyal, and easy going companion
