Story
Pluto is a 10-year old French Bulldog currently being fostered in Western NY. He may be 10 years old but he acts like a much younger dog. He's affectionate and energetic, and everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He's good with men, women, kids (although not tested with toddlers or babies). He particularly loves men! He's never bitten anyone or shown aggression towards people. He is, however, dog aggressive and he chases cats aggressively. He would be suitable for a home without other animals. He is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, up to date on all vaccinations and heart worm negative. He is on a prescription, Reconcile, which has helped him calm down.

Story
Hi, I'm Jethro! **an approved application is required to meet me** Intake type: Transfer from Canisteo DCO DOB: 5/9/23 Breed: Large mixed breed Gender: Neutered male I can be slow to warm up and trust, as my shelter family thinks people may have not always been kind to me. Once I’m comfortable with my people I promise I am just a big ol’ goofy goober! I have played well with other pups I've met so far, and might like a friend in my new home. A meet and greet is always required if you have other dogs in the home to be sure we all get along. My shelter family says I would do best in an adult only home 18+, so no kiddos for me! If you think you might be interested in adopting me, submit an app today!!

Hi, I’m Ryder! 💙 Intake type: Surrender DOB: 01/05/2020 Gender: Male Breed: Husky Weight: 43.8lbs If you’ve been looking for the perfect running partner, look no further! 🏃‍♂️ I am an active boy who would love a forever family that enjoys being outside and adventuring as much as I do – I need a family that understands I am an active boy by breed who needs time to be outside and feel the wind in my hair (aka big fully coat). 🐾 I have enjoyed all the humans I have met at the shelter and they think there is potential for me to live in a home with another doggo friend also – as always, a meet and greet would be required with all human and canine family members to make sure it is the perfect fit first! ❤ Overall, I am just a sweet older boy hoping to finally find the forever family I deserve.. if you think this could be you, please complete an application here: https://www.hornellanimalshelter.org/Adoptionprocessandfees.

Story
Hi, I’m James - I arrived at the shelter with the rest of the Big Time Rush band (Carlos, Logan, and Kendall). We are new to the shelter so my shelter family is still learning my personality but I am a very sweet boy! I am shy at first, but quickly open up to pets and cuddles - I enjoy the company of other pups as well and can often be found cuddling with Carlos!

Story
Hi! I'm Hershey! Intake type: Surrender DOB: 9/1/24 Gender: male Breed: Medium sized mixed breed I was recently surrendered to the shelter due to my previous family's living arrangements drastically changing, which has resulted in having to find a new family to love me just as much as they did. As much as I love my shelter family, I'm ready to break free and find a new home to call my own! I can sometimes be a bit timid with strangers at first, but it doesn't take me long to open up with some kind words, and yummy snacks! I enjoy getting attention from my favorite people and love to sit in your lap for snuggles. If you're one of the lucky ones, I just might sneak in a hug or a smooch or two! I've been told I may have a bit of an adventurous side, but I sometimes need someone to give me a little reassurance to help me feel brave when meeting new people and in new environments. I'd really love to find a family who's willing to teach me how to be a confident pup so we can check out the world! I did live with other pups in my previous home, so I may be open to having another k-9 companion to keep me company when you're out and about. I have not been around any 2 legged friends, but my shelter family feels a home with older kiddos 12+ who are able to understand and respect my boundaries would be best. As always a meet and greet is required if you have other pups or kiddos in your home to be sure we can all be the best of friends! Do you think I may be the pup for you? Please submit an app so we can find out!

Story
Hi! I'm Star! Intake type: Stray DOB: 12/23/25 Gender: Female Breed: Medium Sized Mix Breed Weight: 38lbs Let’s just cut to the chase – yes, my face is adorable. No, it does not impact my crazy, silly, happy girl energy. And yes, my shelter family has taken me to a vet to make sure the bumps on my face are just superficial. ✨ Now that we have got that out of the way, let’s focus on what is really important – ME! 😍 I am a constant ray of sunshine who loves everyone I meet – big, small, young, old, human or dog. Speaking of dogs, I have made an extra special dog friend at the shelter named Hershey.. my shelter family likes to call him my boyfriend. 🙄 I would love an active family since I am still a young, on the go girl – but I do love catching up on my beauty rest as well. Don’t tell my shelter family because I know they do their absolute best for me.. but I cannot wait to snuggle up on a cozy couch with my forever family! ❤ If you think that could be you, please complete an adoption application here: https://www.hornellanimalshelter.org/Adoptionprocessandfees. Or better yet, come meet me Tuesday through Saturday from 12pm to 5pm!
