Meet this handsome hunk of love named Sasha! He originally came into the shelter mid September 2021 when his owner could no longer keep him. He was adopted by an older couple who’s wife wasn’t able to walk him so he came back. Shortly later he was adopted and was there ~9 months and then owners returned him when they couldn’t afford to keep him. He came in missing hair on his back side but with a good diet and monthly flea prevention he should be good. Maybe a daily Zertec since he has sensitive skin and can be itchy. He is settling in again and really hopes his stay isnt too long. He can have bursts of energy where he can get jumpy and wants to do zoomies but settles down after play time and a good walk and wants to snuggle! He is an adult dog around 5 years old, neutered, and is current on shots. Just a happy guy who is a good size and full of love to share. Walks great on the leash and seems very loyal. Meet this LOVELY gal named Sprinkles! She was adopted and brought back 2 years later on February 21, 2024. She came in sad and seemed a bit neglected. Sores on her feel and hind end raw but she’s on the mend and the perfect loving FOREVER home is put there for her. Very shy but sweet and will thrive in a calm and nurturing environment. She is now 6 years old. This is her story: She came in with many of her siblings in October 2021 after being removed from the yard which they lived most of their life. Sprinkles is 4 years 3 months old, current on shots, now spayed, & ready for a fabulous life. She came in skinny, super stressed out and felt very insecure. She had recently had puppies & we had them as well…as soon as they were old enough to be weened they were separated and have been adopted. Now it’s mommas time to shine. Slowly but surely she continues to come out of that shy shell every day. She will come to you for love and body rubs and is learning to walk on the leash and sees life can be so good. She will do best in a calm & patient home that can provide her plenty of time to settle in and decompress. She will probably hid a bit at first but if you sit on the couch or chair she will come to you with time. Every day you will see her confidence getting stronger. If dogs could talk I feel we would hear a sad story from her. Yes she is shy but as sweet as sugar too. A home with a tall fenced in yard would also be good. She loves going out and sniffing around and just enjoys her freedom from being on a leash. A gentle soul who deserves a happily ever after where she can be spoiled and pampered for the rest of her life. If you feel you can give this to Sprinkles this kind of life please come out to the shelter and visit with her. Meet this sweetheart named Lexi! (Currently in foster care with several other pups and her hair has filled in and she’s so much happier.) She came in early June 2022 when her owner could no longer keep her. She came in in poor shape missing fur and feeling crummy! Her hair is starting to come in more and more and will get updated pics posted soon. Despite whatever life was before she is happy and loved. She is 13 years young, current on shots, already spayed and crate and house trained. She loves to go for leisure walks and soaking up all the loving one has to give to her. Meet this handsome fella named Banjo! He originally came into the shelter as a stray on August 16, 2022 and was never reclaimed then was adopted. He was taken into another shelter 1 year later and thanks to microchip our shelter was able to get him back as of August 16, 2024 so he’s now awaiting his adoption day. He is such a handsome hound and is as equally sweet too. He enjoys going out for walks and sniffing around in the play yards. Loves to run and play…has made friends with a lot of female dogs and enjoys their play dates. He hasn’t been with other male dogs as of now since he hasn’t been altered. He is keeping his paws crossed that his FOREVER home finds him very soon. Just a sweet boy who is around 7 years old and is current on shots. Meet this cutie named Blizzy! Blizzy was adopted and back a year and a half later March 6, 2024 as a stray and owner never came for her. She’s sweet, playful, TALL, beautiful, and keeping her long legs crossed that her REAL LOVING FOREVER person sees this and comes to adopt her. She is now 1 year 8 months old, and up to date on shots. Here is a Lizzy’s original story: She and her sister came into the shelter early December 2022 and are patiently awaiting their adoption day! They are 3 months old, current on shots (will get boosters when due while in cchs care), and just happy playifil pups. When they came in they had never been on a leash and they are learning very quickly how to walk on a leash. They love to fetch a toy and play. Since they are puppies they will need an owner that has time to invest in them to teach them “manners” and puppy training…as all pups need to thrive and blossom into wonderful adult dogs. Super friendly snd deserving of a wonderful life to grow up in knowing happiness and a great life! Maybe you have the most perfect loving FOREVER home for Blizzy!? If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting. No need to shuffle the animals around any more than necessary. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance. The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home. In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.
