Story
Bandit is an almost 6-year-old purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi from a breeder in Pennsylvania. I've had him since he was born. He has a big personality and a lot of energy. He will follow you everywhere and he will always bring his rubber binkie toy with him for you to throw. He is a beautiful, intelligent pup that learns fast. Bandit is going to need an experienced dog owner for his furever home who has a lot of time to spend with him and is very patient with him. He is very intelligent but he is also extremely stubborn. He has bitten people in the past from resource-guarding, trying to pick him up, or trying to grab his collar. He loves meeting new people but gets overexcited quickly and has a hard time calming down. He also has had accidents inside from being too excited. Bandit is loud and proud who will always let you know when someone is outside your door. He will thrive in a calm consistent environment with lots of room to play and a human with a lot of patience and fortitude.

Story
Purple-Adult Only, Dog by DogRequirements-Food Guarding Exp., Vet Check, Home VisitA dog that knows sign language? Yes, please! Pixie has impressed us all by learning American Sign Language. It is an essential skill for her to do so. You see, Pixie is deaf. The brilliant young girl has also mastered typical hand signal commands and is hungry for more. She loves to have a job to do, which makes learning a new command a satisfying task for her. She can be hyper, so she would prefer to be the only child in the household. She is also hoping for a fenced-in yard. With her sweet looks and try-it attitude (did we mention that Pixie loves to swim and has used a treadmill?), Pixie will be an enjoyable companion who will continue to challenge you to learn more. From Pixie's trainer, "Pixie is an exceptionally smart dog and she quickly outpaced my ability to train her. Through research, trial and error, and reaching out to experts for advice, I continued to adapt her training to meet her evolving needs. I was encouraged to teach her ASL, and that was the 'AHA!' moment for both of us. I saw the light in her eyes when she realized I was using my hands to try to communicate with her. I often found myself having to google new signs during a training session because she had mastered my entire lesson plan in minutes!I had considered going back to school during the pandemic (for what, I'm not sure), but I learned so much from Pixie I should have been paying HER tuition. She challenged the way I communicate with dogs. Having to rely on body language alone, you have to be more deliberate and more specific. But the biggest lesson I learned is that being deaf isn't an obstacle for her. She is a brilliant and happy dog who loves to run and swim and bury her treats for later. She has no idea she is deaf and the sky is the limit for her with the right owner. I am so grateful to her for everything she has taught me and I can't wait to see her find her furever home." Story
Blue/Orange-16+ Kids, Only PetRequirements-Vet Check, Home VisitBuddy needs a little help with manners, but with a dedicated family, he'll be a quick learner! He will do his best as the only pet in a household without young children. He loves cheeseburgers and toys and is working on learning how to give toys back without trading - he can still get a little mouthy and grabby. One of Buddy's favorite things in the world is receiving a good rubdown. Even being massaged by a brush for a few minutes makes him one happy fella. Buddy has also found that a long walk or hike suits him just fine. If you are looking for a playful, adventurous companion, Buddy may be the right fit for you!For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement-Kennel License #2617

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Blue-Adult Only, Dog by DogRequirements-Vet Check, Home VisitAllie is a beautiful redhead looking for a companion with a lot of patience and understanding. She has taken huge strides with her foster family, though she can still be mistrustful and what trust is earned can easily be taken away. Once she trusts you, she will take her cues from you and would benefit from someone with experience in handling dogs, preferably someone who has experience with dogs who show guarding tendencies; care will need to be taken, as she may start to guard people. She is very affectionate with a big heart and playful, once she trusts you, though her rough playstyle will need some training. Allie is ready and waiting for someone she can finally trust and spend the rest of her life with. For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement-Kennel License #2617

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Blue/Orange-Adult Only, Only PetRequirements-Vet Check, Home Visit, Breed/Guarding ExperienceChamp has a true bulldog temperament, what's his is his and what's yours is his. He will need a family with guarding experience to work with him as he absolutely will protect what is "his" without set limits. You will also need to take the time to gain his trust as the longer he resides here at the shelter the more mistrustful of strangers he becomes. He was ok with our test dog being around after the initial meet, both on lead, but due to his guarding tendencies he would not do well living with another dog.For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement-Kennel License #2617
