Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I am a great boy!  Why doesn't anyone want me?Are you ready to let a tall, handsome, mysterious stranger into your life? Mountain Jack was found abandoned in a remote area.  We were called to help and we took him to our vet for neutering and vaccinations.  The staff described him as a happy boy who is quite the 'ham'.   Poor Mountain Jack! Can you please share to find this big lug a new foster (without cats) or adopter??Are you ready to let a tall, handsome, mysterious stranger into your life? Meet Mountain Jack. He’s a 75-pound hound mix who’s looking for love in a foster or forever home. Our vet thinks he is 1-2 years old. Jack Likes: Taking YOU for long walks on the beach (or down the sidewalk). All of the people. All of the time. What are hands for if not petting him and belly rubs? Hanging out with friends (other dogs who like to play and older kids due to his size and energy level). Making himself comfortable on your bed or couch. Removing squeakers from all of his toys. Taking time to smell the roses… or chase the butterflies. Same thing. Going for car rides. Don’t mind the drool. Pumping the iron! Just kidding. Mountain Jack doesn’t need to work on his strength. Jack Dislikes:: Cats. Hard pass. Not being the center of attention. Hello, handsome stranger over here! Mountain Jack is a stray who was found (where else?) on Jack’s Mountain. He’s fully vetted, crate-trained, house-trained, and ready to find his home!   Jack is microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and on monthly flea/tick and  heartworm prevention.  Please consider adopting or fostering this young boy.*photo credit: Jeffrey Burrell PhotographyVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Do you love boxers?  Do you have lots of love, time, and patience for a shy girl?If your answer to these questions is a resounding YES, YES, then maybe our girl Peggy Sue would fit into your life and home.Peggy came to us from KY.  She was rescued from a house where she was living alone with 17 cats because her 'owner' went to jail.  She is painfully shy and fearful--but not a fear biter!  When she trusts you, her little stubby tail wags her whole butt and she will cuddle in your arms.  KY rescue sent her to H2H because they knew we would place her in a loving foster home and find the PERFECT HOME for her.  Are you that PERFECT HOME?Born without a kneecap on her back leg, Peggy walks (and RUNS) on three legs.  Her crippled leg is NOT useless.  She uses it for stability when necessary. Our vet does NOT recommend amputation because she USES the leg and is in NO pain.  This girl can RUN and she often gets the ZOOMIES in her foster's fenced yard.  (A fenced in yard is preferable for Peggy).Weighing in between 45-50 pounds, Peggy Sue is small enough to help her gain access to a car, couch, bed, etc.  Typically, she has not needed any assistance with these activities.  She loves her stuffies, peanut butter stuffed kongs/bones.  She is completely housetrained but will go on a pee pad if you are not there to take her out.  Peggy loves o snuggle. She is fearful of men, but given enough patience and coaxing with great treats, she does come around. Little folks may freak her out--but we assume she'd do okay with older respectful children.  Peggy LOVES to gnaw on safe chews (likes pig ears).  She will go into a crate--but her foster has never locks the door and Peggy has chosen to sleep on the bed in her spare room.  On stormy nights, her foster mom sleeps with her.  :)Peggy is spayed, up to date with vaccines, and on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  She will do best in a quieter home, preferably with a fenced yard, with someone who isn't gone 8 hours a day.  Preently, she lives with another older dog and 6 cats. Please consider giving Peggy a loving home where she can gain confidence and live a happy, carefree life like the boxr she was meant to be.....  For more information:Email: rushmere1@aol.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ryker is a handsome, friendly, silly pitbull mix.  He came to us through no fault of his own--his owner was no longer able to care for him. Full of puppy energy, Ryker needs an active owner or family who will channel his energy and keep him mentally stimulated.  A fence is not required, but would be preferred as he really needs a place to run.  He walks nicely on a leash.  Wiggly and happy, Ryker just loves attention and is good with other dogs and kids.  His energy may be a lot for little children, but older kids who will play ball and take him for walks would be awesome. Ryker will be neutered and updated with vaccines before adoption; he is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Do you love labradors but would like a smaller version? Are you looking for a dog that is good with dogs and children? How about a hiking or walking buddy? If you can say YES to the questions above - then Shiloh just may be the girl for you. Shiloh came to us from our KY Rescue Friends.  She is a young, spayed, yellow girl who looks a little like a miniature lab (she's about 30 pounds).  Shiloh is everything that our rescue friends described and then MORE!  She is sweet, outgoing, friendly, good with kids and dogs alike.   This sweet young girl loves to play with other dogs, but isn't too crazy.  She hasn't met a dog she doesn't like.  Currently, she is living with another female canine and often has canine visitors stop by to play.  Shiloh likes to go on walks and hikes with her foster mom and especially likes to spend time on the screened porch watching the squirrels and birds frolic in the trees.  Her Mom says that Shiloh prefers to eat on the porch so she can enjoy the dog version of TV--eating and watching the trees for entertainment while she eats.  Shiloh has been very loving and appropriate with her foster mom's small grandchildren.  Although she will go into a crate, she prefers NOT to be crated and is not at all destructive when let alone with her canine companion in the house when mom is out.  Shiloh is looking for a home with a fenced yard (because she is focused on little creatures) and could easily take off in pursuit. She NEEDS loving children who want a dog in their lives, AND an active family who will include her in their daily lives (she is a social butterfly).   Shiloh is spayed, up to date with vaccines and is on flea/tick/heartworm monthly prevention.   If you can provide the type of home that Shiloh needs and wants, apply today. Will you be the lucky person to spend your LIFE with Shiloh?  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR A PUPPY.  BREED:  WE do not know DNA on these pups.  We were told they are Pitbull/Mastiff Mix.SIZE:   We can NOT predict the size of these dogs.  Please don’t apply if size is a factor in your decision.  Our goal is to never have to re-home our dogs—especially because they didn’t grow to expectations.THEY POOP AND PEE A LOT:  Be prepared.  Typically, a puppy can control their bladder one hour for every month of age. So if your puppy is 2 months old, they can hold it for about two hours. Don't go longer than this between bathroom breaks or they're likely to have an accident.THEY WILL SHED; DO YOU HAVE A GOOD SWEEPER? IF you work away from home—you will need a patient care giver for your new addition during your absence.PUPS absolutely need training, exercise, and a lifetime commitment.  It is the responsibility of puppy adopters to continue and complete the puppy shot and maintenance protocols. Puppies will have had their first puppy shot and will have been on a deworming schedule. They will need to be dewormed as needed. Puppies will need at least two more boosters and a rabies vaccine in the coming weeks with boosters again yearly.  Your vet may recommend other vaccines in the future; such as lyme, influenza etc.  You MUST sign a contract agreeing to have your puppy spayed/neutered at an age recommended by your veterinarian.  You must provide Haven to Home with proof of SPAY/NEUTER at an agreed upon date in the future.  An H2H VOLUNTEER will follow up with this agreement.Pets are lifetime committments that can become expensive.  Please think about this and please apply if you want joy in your life as a reward for hard work. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet.
