Story
All AHHS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate). Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions. Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful! “What’s that? You don’t know me?! Pffftt, I find that hard to believe. I am a Humane Society Celebrity! My name is Brie and I am currently the organization’s longest-term resident. Volunteers, staff, and even trainers have all begged for a chance to be my friend! I’m not normally one to share my baggage upon first encounter, but I can already tell you’re interested, so, what the heck.. I am roughly 3 years old. I was transported to the humane society last fall. Prior to being rescued, I had owners that lacked in proper animal care knowledge. I was not worth their time and they tied me to a tree while unspayed. Of course I got pregnant. I mean, look at me! I was picked up while pregnant and brought to the humane society where I was allowed to comfortably give birth to a large, beautiful litter of puppies. This was my initial claim to fame. I birthed some of the prettiest babies the staff had ever seen. Once I ensured my pups were on to greener pastures, I decided it was “Brie time”. I have taken full advantage of the pampered life. A warm bed, belly rubs, and daily feedings were some things I had never known. I had also never been gifted toys before, so it is now my life’s mission to remove the squeaker from every toy I encounter. I’m not sure if anyone has ever told you, but being a mama is HARD work. So much so that I would prefer a home with no kids to raise. I have done my fair share and request that all eyes be on me. I want car rides, long walks at the park, snuggles while watching your favorite movies, and endless amounts of cheese. I don’t think that’s too much to ask, do you?! I would be willing to consider a furry sibling or two as long as I’m not put in charge of the raisin’! My past has left me feeling a little apprehensive when it comes to meeting new people. If you see my potential and are willing to visit with me a few times, I know we could make things work! We would even be willing to do a trial run in your home to make sure we are truly meant for each other! It’s not many dogs that are blessed with both beauty and personality, but I am definitely one of the lucky ones! Once we earn each other’s trust, I will love you with a passion so fierce that you will forget all you thought you knew about love and companionship! Just give me a chance.” You may complete an application at https://ahhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/ Contact Mary for more information maryjames@ahhumanesociety.org October 4, 2023, 9:47 pm
