Sassy is a sweet, playful girl who loves a good game of tug-of-war just as much as she loves curling up in your lap for some well-deserved pets! Once she loves you, she really loves you, and she enjoys being close to her person. Sassy gets along well with both dogs and cats. She is house-trained and does well on a leash. She can get especially excited when her person comes home and may have a little excitement piddle, but she’s otherwise a good girl in the house. Sassy has been through a lot of change recently. She was adopted by her previous family in March 2023, but sadly, her owner has passed away. Her current caretaker is now hoping to find Sassy the best possible forever home, one where she will be loved, spoiled, and cherished for the rest of her life. Sassy forms strong bonds with her people and was very attached to her owner. She tends to feel most comfortable with women and would do best with a female adopter who can give her patience, consistency, and time to feel secure in her new surroundings. Sassy is not comfortable around children, so she will need an adult-only home. Her ideal family will understand her boundaries and allow her to settle in at her own pace. Because Sassy has already experienced the loss of her beloved, her caretaker wants to be especially thoughtful in finding the right match. Veterinary references will be required, and a home visit may be requested as part of the adoption process. This isn't about making things difficult. My name is PennyLu. I was adopted back in the winter as a cute, tiny pup. Sadly, my folks weren't ready for a puppy, and here I am, back at the Humane Society, at 10 months old. I am a beautiful brown mixed breed. I might be a Pyrenees/Anatolian mix; I'm a big girl! My heart is as big as my paws. I have a very sweet demeanor, but I am honestly terrified here. I don't enjoy the loud sounds and commotion of humane society life. I would really benefit from a home where I could gain some confidence and come out of my shell! Please know that I am still just a baby despite my size. I'm incredibly intelligent! I am housetrained and crate trained. I'd love to have a couple of canine pals or even some human kiddos to play with! I have not been cat-tested, but that could be arranged. I am fully vetted. I have been spayed and microchipped. I am a large dog, which means I'm easily misunderstood. I weigh around 85 pounds, but please don't let that intimidate you! I have so many good qualities: I have a unique appearance; I bond with my person(s), and there's nowhere else in this world I'd rather be! **Meet Asher 🐾** Asher is a big, handsome young dog with a friendly personality and a lot of potential. At just over a year old, he’s still growing into himself and learning how to navigate the world, but he already enjoys people, activity, and being part of a routine. He does well meeting new people and enjoys outings like walks and time spent exploring. While he’s not especially toy-driven, he stays engaged through interaction and benefits from regular exercise and structured activity. Asher is also **very food-motivated**, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. Asher has received some basic obedience training and responds well to a **confident handler** who can provide clear guidance. He can be excitable at times and may pull on leash, but he looks to his person for direction and continues to make progress with consistency. He currently attends doggy daycare and enjoys playing and socializing with **female dogs**. He is best suited for a home without male dogs, as he can become uncomfortable around them. Dog parks are not recommended, but he can do well in more structured, controlled social settings. Asher is accustomed to grooming and tolerates **baths, brushing, nail trims, and professional grooming** well. He will require regular brushing (2–3 times per week) to maintain his coat. He is also prone to ear infections in one ear, so routine ear care will be important. With cats, Asher shows curiosity but tends to be cautious.
