Story
Calypso (Callie) — Gentle Soul, Loyal Friend, Love That Grows Hi, I’m Calypso — but my friends call me Callie. I’m a soft-hearted young lady who was rescued and grew up at Stanislaus Shelter in Modesto, where I spent much of my kittenhood. Because of that, the world (and especially people) is still something I’m learning to trust — but my heart is huge, and my love runs deep once I feel safe. Animals are my comfort zone. From the moment I arrived at my foster home, I confidently greeted the resident cat and dog with polite head-butts and instant friendship. I truly thrive when I have another friendly, outgoing animal by my side — someone to show me the ropes, invite me to play, and curl up with for naps. I’ll happily pester my furry siblings for cuddles, playtime, and companionship, so I’m looking for a social, energetic cat or dog who enjoys being adored as much as I do. Humans take me a little longer — but I’m trying. With patience and consistency, I’ve learned that people can be safe too. I started allowing gentle pets in my favorite safe spots (especially my window hammock), and now I even sneak onto the bed at night for quiet snuggles. When you do pet me, I melt instantly — silky-soft fur, loud purrs, and all the love I’ve been saving up. I’ll need time, calm energy, and understanding to fully trust — but with a patient adopter and a confident furry friend by my side, I blossom more every day. The bond we build won’t be rushed… but it will be deep, meaningful, and incredibly special. Best fit: A loving home with a friendly, playful cat or dog, and a human who understands that the most rewarding bonds are sometimes the ones you earn. Please note: Calypso needs a playmate in her new homeIndoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1766520026&src=aap]

Story
Delilah is available for adoption. Please note that our rescue typically does not adopt out kittens as singles; they are usually adopted in pairs. However, if there is already a cat in your home, a single kitten adoption may be considered. Delilah is a sweet and loving kitten. She was born to Isabella, who was rescued from the streets of San Francisco while heavily pregnant. Isabella gave birth shortly after her rescue. Delilah still has her mother and siblings, which is important for her proper development and socialization. She is gentle, playful, small, and very intelligent. She is healthy and has received all necessary vaccinations before adoption. Delilah enjoys running, climbing cat trees, and sleeping with her mother. She is very friendly and is eagerly searching for her forever home. Story
Gigi is a gorgeous tortoiseshell girl from Salinas, with a coat that looks like it was painted by an artist who refused to pick just one color. Rich swirls of black, orange, and gold give her a one-of-a-kind look - because torties famously believe blending in is simply not their thing.Since arriving in San Francisco, however, Gigi has hit the brakes on stealing the show. The big city bustle has her feeling shy and unsure, and she’s taking her time adjusting to her new surroundings. In the shelter, she’s not one to rush the spotlight - think of her more as a limited release rather than a blockbuster premiere. But behind the scenes? That signature tortitude is quietly waiting in the wings.True tortie fans know that big personalities don’t always come out loud and fast. Gigi still has that spark - the confidence, the curiosity, the charm - but she’ll need a quieter setting, some patience, and a human who appreciates the slow magic of trust-building. She’s a soft-spoken gem who will shine brightest in a calm, loving home.Fresh from Salinas, the Salad Bowl of the World, Gigi brings color, character, and plenty of heart - just not all at once. If you’re the kind of person who believes the best things take time, Gigi may be the perfect co-star for your next chapter.
