Story
Hi! I'm Gigi! I was rescued at Sacramento SPCA after my person died. I’m a beautiful, affectionate, and shy kitty with a playful side. When humans meet me they really want to pet me, and I can’t blame them because my fur is fabulous and my tail is glorious, but I’m cautious and shy in new environments and around humans I don’t know. I prefer to take things slowly while getting to know humans, but once I know I can trust you, my sweet and affectionate purrsonality opens up! I was very nervous when I first arrived in my foster home and although I hid most of the time, I did find a comfy and safe place to call my own... my kitty bed. I made my bed my safe place where I could observe my new surroundings while feeling safe and sound. After a short time, I began welcoming pets from my foster humans and sharing my purrs with them while relaxing in my bed. Now I’m walking around and exploring more and although I’m still not comfy receiving pets while I’m not in my bed, I’m spending more time in the room with my foster humans and feeling more at ease. I do have a playful side and have been entertaining myself by batting, chasing, and rolling around with my toys. I wasn’t interested in playing with my foster humans before but now I’m now beginning to open up to it and it’s proving to be quite fun. There’s a very chill resident kitty here and although I didn’t pay attention to him when I first arrived, I’m showing interest now that I’m feeling more comfortable. When he’s around I’ll come out to say “hi” and flop down in front of him to show my belly and purr. Having a chill kitty furiend in my forever home would be nice but isn't a must. As I mentioned, I’m cautious and shy in new environments so I need a patient family who understands I’ll need time to adjust. If you give me your patience, I purromise I’ll reward you with all of my love! You can see more of me here @sf_fosterfriend. Please note: Gigi is shy and needs a quiet home.Indoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1715050830&src=aap]

Story
Hi! I'm Lila! I was found in a trailer park in Stockton, CA. I had kittens and I'm very happy they were all adopted but I was being overlooked and was beginning to lose hope. Lucky for me, Give Me Shelter offered to help me find my new family! I’m a friendly, playful, affectionate and chatty kitty. Oh, and I can’t forget to include beautiful too, but you already know this after seeing my photos. I love human companionship and will keep you company even when you’re moving around the house, and when you have guests over, I won't hide because I like to be part of the festivities. But just being present isn’t enough to sustain a healthy relationship so I’ll chirp at you throughout the day to let you know what I’m thinking and how I’m feeling because even I know communication is key to a healthy relationship. I’m not bossy or bothersome with my chirps and they're quite endearing. I also have a playful side, especially when I see a wand toy or a string toy. Oh boy do I love playing with string toys. I’m also a fan of naps. My favorite napping spot is underneath the couch but I recently discovered human and bird watching by the windows so now I sometimes nap there. Oh and I can’t forget to mention that I love being brushed. Humans love my beautiful, soft fur and they love brushing it to keep it looking and feeling its best. I’m all for it and I’ll even flop onto my back so you can brush my belly! I also want to mention that I haven't shown any interest in exploring kitchen counters and I'm not a door dasher. My foster human thinks I should let you know since these are things some humans appreciate. While I'll be purrfectly happy being your one and only kitty, I'm fine sharing my humans with another kitty as long as they're chill and not into bullying. So what do you think? Do I sound like the purrfect kitty for you? You can see more of me in my current foster home here @lila_in_sf and in my previous foster home here @adopt.lila.     Please note: Indoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1715050830&src=aap]

Story
Nala is the older sister of Luna (they are a pair!) She is not the biggest cuddlier but she loves sitting or laying down next to you. She will also sleep with you from time to time. She’s not feisty at all either. She is a big time eater, not picky at all. Very sweet and gentle! For her new home i would love it if someone in the house has had cats before and knows how to feed them, play with them and make them feel comfortable.

Story
I adopted Kai about a year ago and he is the sweetest little angel in the world. I love him to pieces but unfortunately he does not get along well with my other cat. I had initially got Kai because I was worried my first cat (Luna) was getting lonely while I was traveling. When I got Kai he was five months old and I did not know he would turn out to be such a playful boy! Playful is great but unfortunately Luna is much more laid back and does not like to play so he gets frustrated that he won’t play with her and then she just wants to be alone lol. Due to the environmental stress of not getting along with the other cat, and me being away for work, he has developed FIC, which is a stress related bladder condition. I want more than anything to be with Kai because he is such a sweet loving boy but unfortunately I don’t think my home is the best environment for him. I think he would do best in a household with another kitty who is more playful and where he can get more attent

Story
Oreo is a gentle and sweet kitty who will win you over again and again with his little 'innocent' gaze! He is brave and curious and loves to play, especially with his brother Roscoe. Pouncing WWE wrestling style on Roscoe is one of his favorite pastimes. He discovered early on that he can do back flips into his cat bed and he finds this very entertaining (scroll down to his videos below). He has adapted this skill into his play tactics. Oreo has mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), and will lose his balance from time to time, but this doesn’t slow him down one bit nor does it affect his health or ability to eat and use his litter box. When he runs, his back legs will hop like a bunny rabbit rather than a kitten which is quite cute. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and interactive with people. He would love to be adopted with his brother and nap partner, Roscoe, as they have become quite bonded over the months although this is not a deal breaker as he will also do well with another young playful cat. We estimate that Oreo was born in late May 2023. Kitty Bio #1506KL-Or. Story
Pip is a cute tuxedo cat but she is no ordinary kitty. She is ready to take on the world. Found alone on the street, Pip has used her rough start to her advantage. This little rascal is super curious and playful with an independent streak. Between kitten naps, she likes to have a good time no matter what's going on. She lives by the motto: 'play hard, rest hard'. At her young age, everything is considered a toy, be it a real toy or fingers or toes or drawstrings, etc. With that in mind, a home with older children (age 10 and up) would be best. She enjoys playing with her foster family's adult cats, too, so she would love another kitty to keep her company in her new home. Pip takes everything in stride so a calm cat-friendly dog might also be a buddy for her. Pip seeks out laps for affection and cuddles and she purrs contentedly when held after a nap, but this is on her terms and if she no longer wants to be held, she'll let you know to put her down. She has been quite accepting of strangers and we expect that she will warm up to a new family quickly. Pip's date of birth is estimated to be 9/1/23. Kitty Bio #348LRa-Pi. Story
Remy is a curious, and timid little sweetheart. She’s very quiet and still getting used to being around humans after we found her on the street. She’s bonded with her mom, Bea, and comes whenever Bea calls for her. When she’s not cuddling up with Bea, Remy likes to find a quiet, private place to hide, but don’t let that fool you! She’s always listening, and she’s quite curious to come out and see what’s happening. She gets bursts of energy and zooms around exploring, but only when it’s quiet and no humans are approaching her. Slowly but surely, Remy is warming up to humans though, and we’re confident that with gentle, slow socialization, Remy will be an excellent, albeit shy, companion to a human. Remy loves being around Bea, so it would be lovely if they can go to a nice home together. If not, Remy might benefit from being in a home with another cat, as she seems to take the lead from Bea’s comfort with humans. We estimate that Remy was born in late 2023. Kitty Bio #916SL-Re.     If you're interested in adopting this or another of our cats, please fill out our adoption questionnaire at http://icraeastbay.org/adopt/how-to/.May 3, 2024, 3:51 pm

Story
MODESTO, CA:  Polo was just skin and bones when he was found in a cat colony in April 2023.  He was taken to the vet where they found all of his blood work to be healthy -- he just needed dental work. Polo had a few teeth pulled and has since cruised through his recovery like a pro. He gets along well with other cats but would also do just fine as an only pet. He loves to snuggle and play whenever he gets the opportunity. Polo was born in approximately July 2018.  He has been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on his shots.  He would do well in a home with other cats and children; no dogs please. This is a Courtesy Post, and Polo is with the Cat Network of Stanislaus in Modesto, California. For more information, please contact Monica at info@catnetworkofstanislaus.org or 209-735-0604.
