Story
Cookie showed up at a house in southern Virginia with her sister. She is now doing well in her foster home and gaining confidence every day. She loves her foster mom and, now that she has been attending adoption events, she is getting more comfortable with all the new people and dogs. She is a super sweet, calm girl who is housetrained and crate trained. She does very well with other dogs and would love a quiet home.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org September 22, 2023, 10:12 pm

KNOWN WITH KIDS: Due to his propensity to guard food, toys and people, Thomas could do well with teens who can be coached in how to read Thomas while they are getting to know one another, but he would do best in an adult only home. KNOWN COMMANDS: Thomas is very motivated to learn and knows a number of commands including sit and down. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Thomas is fully housebroken in his temporary foster home and is crate trained> he is also quiet in the home provided the environment has lower traffic. Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
True to my breed, I am a goofy-fun, loving hound and may greet you with a polite paw shake! I enjoy the great outdoors and, when running around, my abundant ears gleefully flap in the wind and I often get the zoomies. I walk nicely on the leash and a perfect day would be a long walk followed by snoozing in the sunshine or curling up on a soft bed. I am always up for an adventure just open the car door and - vroom, vroom, I am ready to go! I enjoy the company of other dogs and love to chase and be chased - play growling all the while. Like many dogs, I have some quirks, but, overall, I am very affectionate and will lavish you with affection and, in turn, would welcome ear scratches and belly rubs. Some hounds are known for being somewhat 'talkative' but not me - I am quiet and even lived in an apartment for several months without any noise issues. Hounds are also known for relishing food and, to that, I plead 'guilty' for I do, indeed, love my food. That said, I sit for all meals and take treats very nicely. How can you resist this adorable guy? Just say the word and I would love to meet you! Thank you for your interest in Benji! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=16033 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Benji, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.

Not good with kids,
Story
Nobody knows love, nose rubs, affection and nonstop fun like Nolan. Never in your wildest dreams will you come across a never-ending bundle of happiness and kindness like Nolan. I am a dog of many nodes of joy. I prefer to be very active, as my energy knows no bounds. Long walks, big yards, non-stop tug of war are the things that I smile most for. Leash walking is no problem for me, but like my hound dog roots I prefer to set the pace and direction. Calm and quiet are my preferred settings so I would do best in a home nuzzled in a quiet neighborhood or on a serene block. A few Nolan "no-no's are other pets or children. I need to be in a house with an experienced owner who can give me their undivided attention. I do have a strong startle reflex so I should not be allowed on the furniture with you. I would like my own bed to the side where I am safe and sound. Take the time to get to know me, be patient with me as we warm up to each other, and I will show you a dog who will never leave your side and who will always be there for you. Nolan is sponsored by Carolyn Landry: Stacey Gimbert - Thank you for all you do for those who can't help themselves. You are blessing to them and to me. Story
Duncan will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) For questions about Duncan prior to the event, please email michelle.whitaker@lostdogrescue.org Meet the chillest hound boy ever, Duncan! Duncan is the epitome of relaxation, he loves to lounge around with you on the couch and likes to stretch out to relax. He has enjoyed sunbathing and hanging out with other dogs, cats, and his humans! He is always very happy, but has plenty of energy to expend, don't let his calm demeanor fool you. He loves to throw toys around and chase them by himself, and doesn't mind play time at all! Duncan has done well walking on leash, he has also done well in homes, and even knows how to "sit when encouraged with treats! He sometimes likes to stop on walks and just pause, but with a little encouragement, he has no problem starting right back up! He has also needed extra encouragement entering vehicles, but a few treats, and maybe a little push makes everything better! He has done well in the car, and loves adventures, he settles right into new environments and does not mind anything at all. If Duncan seems like the perfect, calm, chill adventure buddy, come meet him at one of our events!
