Story
Aulani is the shining star of a remarkable litter from a dog we rescued from a local shelter. She is a true people's pup, exuding warmth and affection like no other. Aulani was the runt of her litter, and we hand-raised her, forging an unbreakable bond that makes her oh-so-special. She's the quintessential companion, always by your side, yearning to be part of your every moment. She's the curious, playful pup who can't resist hopping onto your lap, no matter what you're up to. Aulani's youthful exuberance is infectious, keeping the spirit of puppyhood alive and well. Yet, she does have a hint of shyness around unfamiliar faces, adding an endearing touch to her already captivating personality. Aulani isn't alone in her quest for a forever home. Her sister, Vega, shares her journey, and we're dreaming of the perfect home that would embrace them both with open arms. They're ready to bring a double dose of love, joy, and endless cuddles into someone's life.

Story
United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed below. Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue. Pet Information #A5570224 Franklin is a clever 1 year old black with white Alaskan Husky and German Shepherd mix puppy who came as a stray to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on July 28 (with #A5570226 Alvin and #A5570225 Paisley). Weighing 43 lbs, Franklin is a very handsome dog with a gorgeous face. He needs all the basic puppy training, and while he’s an unfocused youngster now, he has a smart working dog mentality and he’s likely to quickly learn anything he needs to know to fit into the household. After some exercise to tire him out, Franklin was happy to sit at his handler’s feet. He seeks direction and also has a spirit of adventure, so he could be a great hiking or jogging buddy if you want a companion for outings. Franklin might be a good pal for another dog, and he’s ok with other large ones (assessed to join the Gentle/Dainty playgroup) and recommended for older kids. While out in the yard he seemed to be looking for an escape route, so he will need a secure 6’ fenced yard to ensure he doesn’t hop over to find some fun.     FRANKLIN’S VIDEO:   For more information on this pet, contact volunteer UHA Adoption Coordinator Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org September 19, 2023, 3:44 pm

Pet Information #A5262520 Porche is a gentle 6 year old brown and black neutered male German Shepherd who was surrendered by owner to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on August 9. Weighing 72 lbs Porche is cautious in the noisy shelter environment, and his ID number suggests he has been here before so he’s understandably sad to return. Porche seeks direction from his handler and wants to know what you want from him. With reassurance Porche reveals a loyal and loving heart that just needs a special person or family to bond with. He needs confidence building and is smart enough to quickly learn anything you want him to know if he’s given positive reinforcement. At the shelter Porche wants to meet and spend time with other dogs, and he seemed to especially like the female in the next kennel. The shelter says he’s tolerant of dogs and is required to only go to a home with calm ones. Because he appreciates slow introductions and is uncertain, the shelter also says he will do best in a home without kids. We think Porche would enjoy a home with another calm, confident, friendly dog, but he would also be very happy to be the center of attention and get lots of love.   PORCHE’S VIDEO:   https://youtu.be/4pw933s1ly0   For more information on this pet, contact volunteer UHA Adoption Coordinator Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org  September 19, 2023, 3:44 pm

Pet Information #A5573186 Hannah is an attentive and smart 1-year, 7-month-old spayed female German Shepherd who was brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray on August 13. Weighing 55 lbs, this sweet girl is full of love! She thinks of herself as a “lap dog” and will love to snuggle close to her new owner. She was very affectionate with our handler and eager to please. Hannah has a beautiful copper and black coat, with a lovely black muzzle and overall gorgeous face—she really is a show stopper! She’s very calm around other dogs and, at our fence, likes to greet other dogs with her playful bows. Hannah is youthful and at a perfect age for training, although she does know basic commands like “sit.” Hannah is ready to bond with her forever family and join a loving home!    HANNAH’S VIDEO:    https://youtu.be/63lsl9JjwAc   For more information on this pet, contact volunteer UHA Adoption Coordinator Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org September 19, 2023, 3:44 pm

Pet Information #A5572840 Thor is an agreeable 2 year old black and tan neutered male German Shepherd who was brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on August 11. Weighing 79 lbs Thor has a very expressive face and the cutest floppy ears. In the play yard he did some zoomies and then quickly settled down to hang out with his handler. Good on leash, Thor also knows sit and corrected easily. OK with other large dogs Thor was recommended for the Gentle/Dainty group and also seemed fine with a small dog he saw in the next yard. With big feet we think he could gain ten pounds and be at a healthy weight, and will thrive as an indoor dog and member of the family   THOR’S VIDEO:   https://youtu.be/ONFCbMKOErk   Thor has been transferred to the LA County Carson Care Center. To find out more information about him please contact the Care Center at (310) 523-9566 or at carson@animalcare.lacounty.gov  September 19, 2023, 3:44 pm

Pet Information #A5572809 Venus is a demure 5 year old black and tan female German Shepherd who was found as a stray and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on August 11. Weighing 58 lbs, Venus came in with a broken leg that is currently set with a splint and bandage that needs to be changed weekly until healed, and she had not yet been spayed when we met her. Non reactive when she saw other dogs in the yard, Venus is okay with calm large dogs and she was quick to bond with her handler and our volunteers. Curious Venus is not letting that bandaged leg slow her down and she walks pretty well on leash despite her cone. Showing strong signs of housebreaking Venus is a pretty and smart girl who will be happiest with a cozy bed to finish her recovery as an indoor dog and member of the family.     VENUS’S VIDEO:   https://youtu.be/xcTIh9LZsIk   For more information on this pet, contact volunteer UHA Adoption Coordinator Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org September 19, 2023, 3:44 pm
