Meet Canyon – A Shepherd with a Heart of Gold ✨ His name means strength and that’s exactly what carried him through a broken leg, surgery, and a tough start. This approximately 4 to 5-year-old German Shepherd is healed, grateful, and ready for his forever family. 💛 Do you believe in the phrase “it takes a village”? Canyon is living proof of that. He came into the South LA shelter with a fractured front leg and no time left, he had to be rescued that very day or he wouldn’t make it out. Volunteers immediately knew he was special. Even from a quiet medical room where no one could see him, his gentle spirit shined through in a little video that moved hearts to action. With no real plan but endless determination, his village came together to pull him, fund his surgery, and give him the chance he deserved. And what a gem he is! Even while in pain, Canyon melted the hearts of the surgeon and her staff, who all raved about his sweet, gentle soul. His name couldn’t be more fitting. Canyon symbolizes strength, resilience, and beauty shaped by life’s challenges. That’s exactly who he is. Today, Canyon is thriving in his medical foster home, healing beautifully, and showing so much gratitude for his second chance. He is recovering next to another Shepherd with a fracture and they are enjoying each other's company. We may never know how he was injured, but we do know this: Canyon is ready to love and be loved again. He is truly one of those rare dogs who remind us why we rescue. Now, all he needs is a forever family to call his own. Could that be you?

Story
Hi, I’m Beau! Video: https://vimeo.com/1102826479/1c84c264a9 Breed: German Shepherd mix (we think!) Size: 55 lbs (but I’ll be my best self at around 60 lbs) Age: Around 1.5–2 years old Hey there! I’m Beau, and I’m looking for a forever family to call my own. I’m a sweet, gentle soul with a big heart and a friendly tail wag for just about everyone I meet—especially other dogs! I love having furry friends to hang out with and would do great in a home with a canine buddy. I’m also housebroken (yep, I’ve got that down!), and I’ve been told I have lovely manners around the house. I settle in nicely and just want to be near my people. Whether we're out on a walk or just lounging together, I’m happiest being part of the pack. They think I’m a German Shepherd mix, but honestly, I’m 100% good boy. I’m about 55 pounds right now, but I should fill out a bit more and hit a healthy 60 with some TLC. Age-wise, I’m likely around 1.5 to 2 years old, so I’ve got a great balance of playful energy and a chill side too. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s already well on his way to being the perfect pup, I might just be your guy. Let’s meet soon—I can’t wait to become your best friend! Love, Beau

Hi, I’m Mookie! 🐾 I’m a handsome German Shepherd with a big heart, a loyal streak a mile long, and a love for people that runs deep. I’m also a total goofball, the kind that’ll make you laugh with my silly antics and warm your heart with how much I care. Once you’re my person, I’m all in. I bond deeply and love fiercely, which means I might get a little jealous if other dogs try to steal your attention, but it’s only because I’m so loyal to the ones I love. When it comes to other dogs, I’m actually pretty social! I’ve met quite a few, and most of the time, I either stay calm and relaxed or happily say hello and try to play. I was part of a big group of 8–10 dogs recently, and I fit right in. Overall, I do best with people who understand and appreciate a loyal companion who wears his heart on his paw. I’m goofy, full of love, and ready to bring brightness, joy, and plenty of tail wags into your life. If you give me structure, guidance, and your heart, I’ll give you mine ten times over. Much love, Mookie https://www.muchlove.org/animals/mookie

Story
Before landing in a crowded pound, I once had a home where I learned a few things. After spending a month at the pound, I was adopted by a family with a big sister. Sadly, she was used to being the only dog, and the family couldn't get her to accept me. So, I’m searching again for a home I can call mine forever. I’m looking for hoomans ready to shower me with attention, belly rubs, and playtime! I’m sweet, sociable, playful, intelligent, and energetic. I love my meals, my naps with paws and belly up, and every chance to play. I promise to light up your life with laughter, love, and joy! If you are interested in meeting Maya, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Maya is 3 years old and weighs 50 lbs.] (2508)

Please contact Jessica (jvargaskaffie@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.ONLY CONTACT INFO BELOW! COURTESY POSTING! LINDA is a female dog approx 4 years old. While her exact breed is uncertain, she may be a mix of any of these breeds - shepherd, mastiff, akita or shiba inu. Her behavior resembles that of a young Beagle, characterized by high energy and enthusiasm. She exudes a lively spirit, always eager to run, play, and encourage others to join in. Linda naturally assumes a leadership role within her pack, demonstrating confidence without aggression. She often mediates conflicts to ensure harmonious interactions among her companions. Her noble demeanor is complemented by her physical and spiritual resilience. She enjoys cuddles, treats, training sessions, walks, meeting new people and dogs, and exploring unfamiliar environments. She is well-suited for outdoor adventures, long walks, and challenging activities. Anyone with experience in dog care would find her to be a wonderful companion. Despite her past life on the streets, she exhibits no trauma or resentment, only happiness that she freely shares with everyone she meets, regardless of species. She enjoys her crate for taking naps, is housebroken, and can chew on items when bored, so enjoys chew toys and bones. She might also pull on the leash if permitted, so a skilled handler, who knows how to handle/correct her, is essential for walks and to receive plenty of affection.  Contact RONNIE: 310-804-1555 (text) December 1, 2025, 10:23 pm

Story
My name is Sheba! Are you on the hunt for a petite Shepherd who is energetic, fun-loving and loyal? Well, then I might be your girl. I love other dogs and I am a champ in playgroups. I enjoy walks, love a good game of fetch, enjoy going places in the car and travel beautifully in a travel kennel. As with all Shepherds, I am highly intelligent, love to learn and am eager to please. I have loads of Shepherd energy and need regular physical exercise, mental stimulation and structure/predictability in my home life to thrive. I am more comfortable with women but do well with men who have a calm/confident energy. I will do best with a guardian who knows Shepherds well, and I will be an amazing, loyal, loving companion for life! Would you like to meet me? [Sheba is 3 years old and weighs 52 lbs.] If you'd like to meet Sheba, please contact Diane: (310) 507-3341 or dk1enzo@ cox.net Note: This is a courtesy posting for our fellow rescuer, which means that even though this animal does not belong to our group, we are here to help those who need to find a home for their animals. Story
Saved and pulled from rubble....two bonded brothers looking for their forever home! Meet Mars and Jupiter...two very special and VERY bonded Malinois brothers. These precious boys are approximately 9 months old and very sweet! Their story is sad...most likely they were dumped at a construction site and some kind person found them and literally pulled them out of the rubble! We have the video. They are very lucky to be alive! We are only looking for a Malinois savvy owner as they are a very special and particular breed. They are working dogs and to deny a Malinois the activity they need deprives them of their reason for being. A home with a safe and secure yard is a must for this breed. An apartment type home would not work. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal! Ideally keeping them together would be best and so special, but if the right home came along we could see how they do apart. Mars and Jupiter will form a loyal and unbreakable bond with their owner and will love them for life! Mars and Jupiter are vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 **this is a courtesy post but we are helping out to facilitate in finding these two boys a forever home**
